  1. Has there ever been a female "Columbo"? By that I mean a woman detective who is over 50, not in great physical shape nor attractive (by Hollywood standards, so that means normal looking), but solves crimes?
  2. I thought it was funny, of course, but I doubt anyone could be weaned off meth in a weekend.
  3. If you get MeTV, they will be showing Richard Anderson tribute episodes of Wagon Train, The Big Valley, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Wanted: Dead or Alive, The Rifleman, and The Wild Wild West - tomorrow (Saturday Sept 2) starting at 11am / 10 central.
  4. I first felt sorry for that guy. Then he ended up having a great party until the peanuts. I'm glad he had a doctor there. And then in the end, I thought "what a dope" when he turned away what is probably his perfect match! Oh, and I hope Kellie Martin (the cop) ends up with the doctor!
  5. Richard Anderson, who was all over network TV in the 60s and 70s, and who played Oscar Goldman on "The 6 Million Dollar Man" and "The Bionic Woman" - dead at 91. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/richard-anderson-dead-six-million-855240
  6. I was wondering what happened to her. I suspected that the public expectations after her Sochi performances would overwhelm her. I hope she stays well. Anorexia is HORRIBLE and is often triggered by a feeling of having no control. Maybe getting out of the limelight will help.
  7. Wow, really? I don't share my password with ANYONE. It's in a safe place that he knows about in case I die or something.
  8. Coincidentally, yesterday I went to a lecture by someone from our local Alzheimer's Association. They are seeing some great progress in clinical trials. I asked about their funding and was told they are totally funded by donations and grants - no government money. I've been making a yearly donation to the Pat Summitt Foundation (I live near Knoxville, home of the Lady Vols; Pat Summitt died of early onset Alzheimer's), but today I'm going to make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Glen Campbell.
  9. Honestly! But it's no worse than what some other "women of a certain age" have had done. Do you think that in Hollywood they've just forgotten what a normal older woman looks like? Do you think that weird lip thing they've got going on looks normal to them?
  10. She did entire episodes about going to herbalists to find natural ways to deal with symptoms. Gosh, I loved that show! The first time I remember "the change" being mentioned on TV was when Edith Bunker went through it on "All In The Family". The normally appeasing Edith started arguing and fussing at Archie, to the point where he said he was TIRED of it and she should "CHANGE RIGHT NOW!"
  11. Sam Shepard - actor and Pulitzer prize winning playwright, dead at 73 from ALS: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/31/theater/sam-shepard-dead.html
  12. I just saw an old "Dick Van Dyke Show" episode. Barbara Bain (!) played Rob's fiance in a flashback, and when he broke up with her she started throwing all her ceramics and nicknacks at him. I always thought that was dumb; all it does is make a mess (they NEVER hit their target!). I have never seen or heard of this happening in real life.
  13. About the party - they're trying to get a business going, and if you're in the services industry you have to put up with a lot of crap. I didn't like the client, but at least they got some great contacts out of the party. I thought the drag queen part was funny, but I thought their costumes weren't over the top enough; they were like something *I* would come up with, but I'm not a drag queen! Nice callback to the UPS guy (Jack McBrayer); that's a fun character.
  14. IMO Anna Feris had a better year than Allison Janney. Some actresses, like her and Julia Louis-Drefus, seem to have some kind of hypnotic hold on the Emmy voters.
  15. Also, the show itself was nominated for Limited Series or Movie
  16. Jason Mantzoukas, who plays Pimento, was on "Late Night With Seth Meyers" last night. I never paid much attention to him before, but he was FUNNY. Here's his segment:
  17. I ❤️ Laurie Metcalf - I will watch her in anything. She's sooooo good!
  18. I don't see any reason they couldn't include the wedding scene. I mean, anyone can sue anyone else for anything, but I don't think there would be any merit in any claim they would make.
  19. My experience is I have never seen a door like that, except on a hotel room.
  20. My little sister's first word was "Batman". We would come home from school and watch the reruns. She was in the playpen and bounced along to the theme song. As an adult, I still enjoy watching the series - they must have had so much fun making that show! And the guest stars! R.I.P Adam West.
  21. I think it looks interesting and am looking forward to seeing it!
  22. For those of you who get MeTV: The "Perry Mason" episode with Bette Davis (filmed in 1962) is going to be aired Tuesday, May 23, at 11:30pm eastern time
  23. That house was ridiculously huge; I can't imagine how they could afford it, on top of the private school tuition. No matter how well the restaurant is doing, it's just one restaurant. The whole plot line was so ridiculous that I couldn't just sit back and enjoy the show. Eddie and his friends and the pizza tattoos made me LOL, though.
  24. The best part of the episode was showering the newlyweds with "confetti" made of the sweetener packets - white, yellow, pink, and blue. Very festive!
  25. Heads up - the only episode filmed in color is on tonight on MeTV!
