  1. Ooooh, almost....grains WERE involved. ;)
  2. You know, I'd like to say which act i enjoyed most this week, but if I can't even remember the name of it, then it wasn't so impressive, was it? It was the group who did "Shake It Off": I thought it was an instance where "a little bit of everything" seemed to work, rather than just look like a mish-mash. "Mentalists" annoy me, and I'm trying to figure out why. I suppose it's just that they should call themselves magicians and be done with it. I don't mind the trick aspect of a performance, especially if it's done well, I just mind suspending my disbelief over psychic ability. So, you can read minds, eh? Tell me what I had for breakfast. It shouldn't be too hard, it's the same damn thing every morning. ;) I must end this post now, since it seems I've used up my daily allowance of quotation marks.
  3. Several people here have noted that this season could have all been a coma induced dream from the car accident. Everything that happened in this episode leads me to believe we are heading in that direction. 4. Amen, helenamonster. And now that you've brought up the concept, I want to give Kate an imaginary Emmy for the impersonation I envision her doing in my head.
  5. Could it be that sitting down was the dog's signal for "Feed me!" and that something else (barking, circling, whatever) was the sign for "Hey, I found drugs!"
  6. Despite being on the fence about this season's prospects, I would immediately fork over hard-earned wages to see Departure 2: Electric Boogaloo.
  7. Would it have been too much to ask that the Blessed Town not be in a dust bowl? With a few mountains, a little lake, something nice to look at? Evidently, to be saved we need to be schvitzy.
  8. I find the real characters' stories and interpersonal drama far less interesting than the "behind the scenes" view of the television production.
  9. Helenamonster, once again you and I share a brain, albeit your half is much younger. I was wondering how much more interesting one can make treadmill dancing than the Ok Go video. If they judges slam the group for plateauing, perhaps they can add elipticals or stairmasters for some variety.
  10. Addlepated, if they ask you to wear all white, watch out. ;)
  11. It's one more option of stuff-to-flip-though-and-maybe-watch-for-a-few-minutes. Just because neither incarnation is good doesn't mean I won't turn it on when bored enough. But you all are right; it should be so much better than it is.
  12. Yea, verily. And twice on Sundays.
  13. Well, if he reasonably can't take credit for motivating the investigation, he can surely take some credit for the attention and reaction today's news is receiving.
  14. I don't know why, but I loved the puppets, especially the mom. She won my heart when she said, "My son just loves Melb!" Call me easily amused; it might be the actress's voice that does it for me. I think she's grand, and would watch a whole show just about Mom Puppet (who actually has a full name, but I can't remember it at the moment. I'm a bad fan. ) Commander Cody, I agree the mult-media dancers were just average, if that. So very overpraised - what good is your light show if your dancing is sub-par? Piff! the Magic Dragon...so good to see him again! I wonder how long it will be before Howard says something like "Ok, we know your dragon routine...now, change it up a bit, and be yourself." Piff does NOT perform without the dragon costume, does he? I sense heads will butt over this in future eps!
  15. Ah ha! Yes, this! Especially as this season has shown Kevin to be the big fuck-up, financially speaking and otherwise...talk about a dream come true for Jackie!
  16. Much as I echo your hopes for the new season, marketdoctor, I'm starting to think bad camera work has unfortunately become AGT's trademark.
  17. For me, what saved Louis CKs monologue when it got dicey were the responses from the band. The looks ranged from incredulity to shock to "I know I shouldn't laugh but I can't help it". It was pretty fascinating to watch.
  18. This was one of the funniest things from SNL all season. No wonder it was cut. Then again, Leslie Jones makes everything better.
  19. I keep getting the feeing that this show is the Bizarro Universe's answer to "The Leftovers".
  20. It doesn't even make my top five "upscale" steak houses in Boston. Kevin and his ilk are more than welcome to those bar stools.
  21. Yay for getting to see Leslie Uggams! strut her stuff down the church aisle. And even though last week's previews were a complete misdirection (Daughter fires Jackie because of stolen drugs?), and Jackie gets to save the elderly as well as undeservedly shine, I am able to forgive the writers a teeny tiny bit because of this. Yes, I'm old and unexpectedly seeing childhood icons still able to get work makes me smile.
  22. Let's hope Wayne's kids inherit his charisma, and not their mothers'.
  23. The Willis Family, that musical group resembling the Von Trapps, has their own reality show premiering in May on TLC. I don't know whether I'm intrigued or repulsed.
  24. I don't know why I'm looking forward to this, but I am.
