  1. I have to say that list is revealing as to the show's desired outcome. Also, the fact that none of those guys fall into what I would consider 'teen idol/ TV boyfriend' category*, which theoretically may give the girls a better chance. *
  2. I was moved a little bit by Blaine's apparently sincere testimony in the church. He seems like a decent dude. Not sure what he sees in Lindsey (other than her looks). OTOH, I wasn't moved in the slightest by Britt and Marcellino's obviously phony 'romantic, impassioned' dialogue in the parking lot. Ugh, their scenes are my potty break. I see elsewhere that so good luck with that big rap career, Montana Millz. As if we weren't already sceptical of your rented BMW matched with the shabby chain hotel room😏 Will Puppy sober up long enough to get a job or will Queen end up throwing her out of her apartment? When oh when will the Derek/Big Mo story run out of steam? Where oh where will Amber get $50K? And did I hear correctly that she quit her job, too? This show must pay better than we thought, no? I like Aris and Cameron individually, but not together. I'm really not a violent person, but I want to punch Chance and slap TayLER. Their poor, poor kids.
  3. I think that's a bit of sarcasm. Many would say OW got where she is in life at least in part due to her stunning beauty. (Not a fan of her big square jaw, personally, but House certainly thought she was amazing!) I also eye-roll at their 'emergency kit' that you're supposed to use 'until you can get medical attention'. If you ever had a UTI, you know how incredibly painful they are. By the time you get their concoction, you could have called the doc and gottent a prescription for the antibiotics that will actually cure the infection.
  4. Re. the Amazon ad with the mustached girl. Until I read about it here, I actually thought what she was concerned about was her teeth. Eddie Murphy had a small gap, and Frida Kahlo had such crooked teeth she wore an early version of a grill to disguise it, and of course Freddie had 4 extra teeth that gave him a huge overbite. (I admit my TV is too far away from my sofa for me to see super-clearly, because I honestly barely noticed her stache.)👓 Either way, I doubt that wearing that yellow strait-jacket thing and dancing around like a loon in school is going to help her popularity/acceptance or whatever we're supposed to see as her issue.
  5. I hope the other contestants are paying attention to Kaya's situation. Through her father, she has to have GREAT connections to the world of music, yet the best move she thought she could make was to go on Idol?! How much chance does poor Cameron Amen (even with his Platinum Ticket) have? Although there were some really good singers on this episode (Kaeyra, Jayna, Oliver) the show backslid into way too many sob stories, as well as literal sobbing. Ugh. Speaking of ugh, of course 'Fire' went through, even though again she was pretty bad. I predict she disappears somewhere between Hollywood Week and Top 24. Maybe when she goes back to wherever she came from, the strip club will let her sing while she pole-dances.
  6. I think we need the equivalent of poltical term limits for this show. No more than 3 seasons of a LAL character- this means YOU Brit, Marcellino, Lindsey, Shawn and yes, Puppy and Amber. Maybe Sharp needs to do a 'where are they now' follow up show, but keep the main show FRESH. Also, Shawn needs to discover Just For Men hairdye for that sad, moth-eaten stache of his.
  7. The worst part is that after the dog runs through the giant worm and out it's 'mouth', the worm spews out some vomit-like substance. Really, wasn't the whole thing gross enough already??
  8. I think at this point Dr. Now is agreeing to surgery just to save the patient's life short-term. I don't see this guy ever getting to a normal weight, especially since he seemed to have no goals or ambitions, and I suspect his body is already ruined.
  9. Holding is fairly entertaining, especially the first 2 eps. It falls into soap opera territory later. Although I appreciate these shows with 'mature' protagonists, I had trouble telling the 2 sisters apart- why would they cast 2 overweight actors with very short grey hair? I finally figured out who was who when I realized the lesbian had the longer hair 🙂 My favorite thing was PJ's imitation of Benny Hill. Hard to believe that 37 year old Evelyn would have no idea who he was, though.
  10. Producer manipulation for the DRAMAH!! I thought she was pretty bad, but fully expect her to be put through to Hollywood next week. Similarly, Mariah (blond dreadlocks) 'opening' for the Noah and Hunter Girl show. Her audition didn't seem to be good enough to warrant that, but somebody up there likes her, I guess.
  11. So, did I hear correctly that TayLER QUIT HER JOB? I mean, we knew about stupid Justine quitting hers, but I (foolishly) thought TayLER was more cautious than that. She really deserves whatever happens to her (but not her kids 😢).
  12. Oooo! It's the big Chance/TayLER blowup scene coming up!
  13. You're right, Christina does not seem to have a degree/license in anything. However, since the budgets for the old show never included anything for design fees, she definitely worked for free!
  14. Yes, I was having trouble understanding the point of this (to me) very fancy remodel of a modest house in a scruffy-looking neighborhood. This is the first one of the new series I've bothered watching. Not sure I'll bother to tune in again. Heather brings nothing to the table but picking out some rando designer who will have to be paid, unlike Christina, who for all her faults was at least a qualified interior designer. The only expertise Heather is allowed to show is her 'how much can this sell for' skill, plus her giggling, shrieking and hugging talents. The outfits she wears to go check out the progress of the remodel make Christina's look positively reasonable.
  15. "Yesterday, ,y husband mistakenly switched our provider to something that doesn't include WeTV (that's gonna change!). While I'm enjoying reading the live chat to get the gist of what happened, I'd really like to watch the actual episode. I see it's available on YT under a couple of different posters (or whatever they're called); you have to click a link to watch, and I'm wary of doing that. Anybody know if it's safe, or have any other suggestions?
  16. Well, that was an improvement over last week's group, imo, but I still haven't heard anyone that I really want to hear again. (The autistic guy is a great pianist, so I might be interested in more of that, but unfortunately, his mediocre voice and super-wordy lyrics would be included, so maybe not).
  17. My newish washer has a 'tub clean' function- you put a little bleach into the detergent cup and let it rip. My husband (who's actually well-groomed) produces the most horribly stinky work and work-out clothes, which seems to stick to the washer somehow, so I use the tub clean almost weekly. Putting scent on stink is never going to be effective.
  18. Re. The Window: I wish we had seen more of the apartment. From what they showed of the outside, it looked like there were recessed balconies on the upper floors. Even if Hanna had wanted to suicide, that bedroom window was really high off the floor, and not even very wide; if there were a balcony, that would seem easier, no? I'd think it unlikely she'd be willing to leave her child behind to be raised by someone who was emotionally abusive. But then, I never understand women who have affairs instead of just going to a divorce lawyer. She had plenty of time while he was out of the country on assignment.
  19. As I recall, the only 'platinum ticket' person from last year who went anywhere was Hunter Girl, so I'm not expecting the 2 we've seen this year to go far either. The giggly 15 year old wouldn't have seemed special if she'd been 18, imo. Katy's camera-hog antics were bearable last week, this week not so much. I did laugh at Luke doing Billy Ray Cyrus, though. I wouldn't have recognized Phil Stacey. My all-time favorite Idol nickname was from his year; somebody on the original Television without Pity dubbed him 'Philferatu' 😊
  20. I'm disappointed in Amber-I really thought she'd escape this kind of chaos. She's made a lot of bad choices in the last 2 seasons and they're catching up to her. The other couples are very disposable to me- they're doing dumb things in order to collect their checks from Sharp. Speaking of which, wonder how much those sad shabby little retailers get from them to allow filming in their premises. That paint store/hardware store in Corinth Mississippi had the jankiest collection of electrical cords draped over ceiling pipes and hanging down the walls. In most places, the city building inspector would call those 'fire hazards'.
  21. You must have forgotten that she was shown doing demo work for Blaine while wearing a tank top, short shorts and high-heeled construction boots last season!
  22. Mildly interested in a 'where are they now' with the really dusty retreads like Mars/Brit and Puppy/Amber. Would rather not see Tayler/Chance and Nathan/Skylar, who scare me. I mostly want to see the rest get their comeuppance(s)- which never happens, but I'll watch anyhow😏
  23. Was it just me, or did it seem like Dr Gates was trying pretty hard to get Angela and Jeh to admit that their white forebears (the guys who chose to stay with their black families) had done the best they could, considering they couldn't legally marry their ladies? Anyway, another Mayflower descendant?! And more 'how does that make you feel' prodding! It's getting old.
  24. Actually, she got to 9th place in S18 of the Voice. (Is it worth noting that Michael Williams also got to the Playoffs of the Voice S18)? I think there are quite a few pop singers auditioning most years, they just don't go far in the competition. Most of the pop singers now are either singer/songwriter types (Maddie Poppe, Alexandro, etc) or country-tinged (everybody else). Reactions vary: Like Luke, I wrote off Lucy Love after her first song, but was won over by the second one. But I agree that Lyric was not great on her first song, was terrible on 'Before He Cheats' and didn't deserve a ticket.
  25. The star of the episode (for me, for you): Monique's daisy dukes, which were being asked to do things no garment ever should be. Glad Travis escaped, but now I'm worried about that sweet little doxie.
