  1. Why are ambulance-chaser law firms allowed to claim that 'baby powder' can cause cancer? Why don't the ads use 'talcum powder' instead, since it's the talc that is associated with cancer? Also, I'd love to know how somebody proves that their grandma used a specific brand of 'baby powder' 20 years ago, and it definitely caused her death.
  2. Aren't the LAL episodes the only 90 minute ones? LDL has always been just 60, right? Raneka's self-proclaimed credentials as a 'good mother' should be revoked just on the basis of her allowing her oldest daughter to appear on air in that get-up. Savannah is simultaneously pitiable and contemptible. Latisha's husband's line of new age bullshit crossed with thug life 😬
  3. Uh Oh The Flipping El Moussas are accused of (I guess) attempted gentrification. Surprised this is the first time, actually. I feel for the tenants, at least the old lady. But that's a thing that can happen when you rent, and the $12K seems like a reasonable compensation for moving costs. The proposed project includes 14 subsidized units, too- surprised he doesn't offer these folks an option on a new apartment (once built, of course).
  4. Yeah, his head basically exploded when the SWAT guy shot him.
  5. The plotline was so predictable/cliche. Our hero's hand trembles as he tries to decide whether to avenge his family by shooting the perp, but-no!- his honorable nature wins, and the SWAT sharpshooter does it for him. Geez. And of course, despite being shot mid-body and bleeding like a pig, our hero makes a quick and complete recovery! (Cue inept jazz singing).
  6. This comment amused me, because all of the women's looks (Rami, Bishme and Korto designs specifically) reminded me of the insanely short, tight, impractical 'uniforms' the females on the original Star Trek wore. Also, I don't/won't watch Below Decks, but was curious why there are 2 captains on this small ship?
  7. Why on earth was the actual REASON for her suspension not spelled out? 'You weren't ready' wouldn't withstand a lawsuit she might bring against the department for discrimination. Also, maybe some reader who is a UK native can fill me in, but a quick google search suggests East Asians have been on various UK police forces for at least 50 years- why would they be putting up 'Be the Change' posters suggesting this is a new issue?
  8. So now we're going to get to hear about 'itchy vulvas' courtesy of new Vagisil ad.
  9. I didn't understand why Anna didn't just wash her bleached dress pieces and continue sewing. I suppose they might have shrunk, but there was no real reason she had to start over, was there? Julia Fox generally shows up on gossip/trash sites looking like she just crawled naked through a pile of laundry, so I was surprised by her lack of enthusiasm for Anna's look. Interesting comment from Korto re. her MLK 'moment' last week, which I actually don't even remember. I was sort of expecting Kara to somehow link her nondescript creation to, oh, the Dred Scott decision or something.
  10. My hatred of Lume and Dr. Shannon will not die! Is there truly a market out there for 'toasted coconut' or 'totally tangerine'- scented butt cracks?
  11. What is with these abandoned mansions that apparently can sit untouched for decades in the English countryside? The bedroom where the pedophile posed the girl (who was killed many years later) still has the pink satin sheets and bedspread? Sure, there were some cobwebs in the house, but the furnishings were untouched? Yes, I'll watch the other episodes of this, but it's really a waste of Dunbar.
  12. I agree with all the criticisms, but I did love Rachita and New Lover dancing in that very British pub. It made her more likeable and him more than just her underling. Also, this may sound weird, but I love her pretty little mouth- it's so refreshing not to see puffy injected lips on an actress.
  13. All I could think of during this episode was how do Tish's co-workers handle the chair situation with their pantyless, micro-skirted boss? Do they keep wipes all over the office? (even worse, she may not be revealing her commando situation to them!) Also, trying to figure out Reneka's wig logistics; that thing seemed to suggest she has several different hairlines, as well as hair growing in multiple directions. As if the 'I decided to mop up the dirty swimming pool with my wig' coloration wasn't bad enough. Fat ex-cop Andy and his jailbird are so gender-reversed Pickle Girl and whatever his name was. Will end the same way. Jade has a strangely attractive voice and I can't quite remember who it reminds me of. She's going to do her best to goad Chris into roughing her up so he can return to the slammer and she can continue to be the lady of the manor in peace.
  14. Oops! I didn't look at the Acorn menu, just googled it. I'm sure it'll show up at some point
  15. Just watched the first season of 'Innocent' on Acorn. I mainly tuned in because it stars Lee Ingleby, whose performance as Det. John Bacchus in 'George Gently' is a favorite of mine. Though hardly in the category of 'Gently', it was pretty intriguing, even though I figured out who the culprit was by episode 3. There is a second season, with a different mystery and cast, so I'll check that out.
  16. Interesting that the 2 top looks were the most typically 'feminine' and pretty. I was mystified at Kara Saun's attempt to connect 'Tulsa Massacre' with 'Underwear as Outerwear'. JMO, but that seemed vaguely disrespectful to me. But apparently we must have some kind of 'struggle' story to capture the judges sympathy.
  17. Saying something nice: Ella was in a very simple white dress and looked adorable and classic. The other girls looked tacky, but not really terrible. jessica has quite the cleavage! Another good thing: they all have great cheekbones. June (and Justin) looked ridiculous. When the show finally ends, he'll stick around exactly as long as her bank account. I get the impression that none of them is really close to Anna, but they're going to use her situation as the upcoming season's plot, however it turns out for Anna.😔
  18. Agreed- but those ridiculous skinny jeans!
  19. Whew, at least I'm not alone in being baffled as to why Ridley/Dunbar is being allowed to sing. Must be one of his contract demands.
  20. Sorry, but I must return to the Lume ads- now in addition to the odious Dr. Shannon, some bug-eyed minion of hers is telling us that she works for Lume, and how to get free Lume products when we order (as if!). She's marginally more bearable than Dr. Shannon, BUT why is she filming this ad in a room that has 2 different-colored toilets in it?? (Couldn't find the clip to attach here, but it's on all the time)
  21. Ugh at Pumpkin being willing to give 'June Bug' more chances to screw up her relationship with her family. I couldn't believe that she didn't just cut her off permanently after this latest fiasco (meeting June at a park supposedly to let her see her grandkids, but then June uses it as an opportunity to take Ella aside and get her all excited about being the flower girl). Not that this is a huge revelation, but it seems obvious that neither June nor her kids would still be talking if it weren't for the TV money-which makes them all guilty and despicable.
  22. Can't speak for the complaining designers, but I thought the problem with Anna's dress was that it was just a basic mini dress with ruffle strips sparsely tacked on in a way that made the model look much bigger, rounder and jigglier than she was. I got the impression that she knew it was terrible and just didn't have the inspiration or time to come up with anything else. She seemed to be dithering about what to do practically up to the runway. That's why she was expecting to go home, and why she was completely shocked when she was put in the top. JMO!
  23. After watching last night's (new, I think) episode, I'm now curious about 'bleach baths'. Dr. Emma did a great job with the Hailey-Hailey lady and the rosacea girl. Dr. Emma's has Princess Kate-quality hair.
  24. Yes, Hester trying to claim that was a !transgressive! never-seen-before design was absurd. There are currently 2 versions of the 'fitted top/full skirt open in front to show pants' dress for sale on T.J.Maxx.com. However, Hester is amazing at making herself look utterly hideous. I thought it was weird that these 2 kept emphasizing that their look was for 'European' royalty.
  25. Maybe this could also go into the 'commercials that enrage' thread, but did anyone else have to google 'Moxie robot' to make sure it wasn't some kind of prank ad? A parent wants their kid to learn about interpersonal relationships by 'talking' to a robot? We are all in deep trouble.
