I think Jamie went to fight in France with Ian after he escaped from prison when he was 18 or 19. I think Diana has a timeline for this somewhere, you could ask in the “ ask the book readers” thread. It didn’t seem as though you loved the show, are you going to go ahead with season 3? Etc? Waiting years between seasons is annoying because you do forget what you watched ( for most shows anyway, not this one, because I have rewatched a lot).

I like Last Kingdom a lot, I hope they are filming a new season of that while we speak ( haven’t heard, assume there was a covid delay). We may have to rewatch that all by the time we get a new season. Usually these threads are all dead unless the shows are currently airing new seasons.

I know we all took one look at Jamie & did not assume that at 22 he was still a virgin! Jamie uses a lot of lovely words to Claire in 107 & 109 but not “I love you”.

I did notice that those scenes are from the same place. I believe Jamie is figuring out how to proceed with Claire because she’s the “one”. I know everyone is annoyed that Jamie doesn’t tell Laoghaire that he’s in love with Claire but he hasn’t told Claire he’s in love with her yet ( although I think she knows).

Definitely some of my fave scenes as well in this episode ( great dialogue straight from the book): the fight by the river, which was used for Cait’s chemistry test with Sam! As well as the whole makeup scene, great example of Jamie & Claire , foreplay, sex, afterglow which was the first sex scene they actually filmed together! Thought I’d throw in some trivia! Loved having Jamie’s POV!

And the midges were driving Sam crazy, but the woman teacher was unfazed even though she was surrounded! I can relate to this as we have mosquitos, & they usually don’t even bite me ( do I taste bad?) but they love my hubby. Sam must be yummy!

Interestingly when I watched with my hubby ( after I’d seen those first 3 seasons several times already) he asked during the Wedding episode “ What is Frank up to? “ which admittedly I didn’t give a s*** about because I, oops, Claire had married Jamie! I felt Frank’s parts were longer than necessary but I did like seeing what he was up to. But I was annoyed that Claire still wanted to go back.

I will answers some of your questions. First off everything in this show comes back around so Frank seeing that ghost in the street is one of them. Claire was not raped, although it is hard to tell that, & she is so upset mostly because she has killed someone. Jamie was flogged 3 or 4 years earlier so Jack has been in Scotland awhile! You made me laugh with your comment about Claire returning to 1945 for the hygiene, because that is a big thing for many posters here on an ongoing rant. How can Claire choose to live with out hot baths, electricity, shampoo, etc. DUH-Jamie! Some of them must have missed noticing the passion, & pure soul connection that Jamie & Claire have! I did think the scene with Frank & Claire yelling for each other at the stones was well done, although I doubted they could hear each other across time.

I always say this is the episode where you are in or out, because it was intoxicating. I love how Jamie reveals the lengths he went to, & we ( the audience, & me personally) are all falling in love with him the same time as Claire is! This year was a perfect time for people to find this show & be able to binge so many seasons in a row!

I believed this right from this episode! I agree, I've not seen anything like it before & It is perhaps my fave epi of TV ever!

SassAndSnacks I had to give you a point just for saying Jamie is the Claire whisperer! Best line ever!
