  1. I get off topic quite easily-in real life as well! We love historical drama. But we do not have Starz. I actually read one of those books by Phillipa Gregory, on recommendation from a friend. I Can't remember which one now, I either didn't like the writing or the characters much, but I do love English history. One of my fave books is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet, & there was a mini series of that many years ago, & it was well done! Speaking of The Last Kingdom, my hubby was recently reading the last book in that series, & I have just started The Fiery Cross ( I always start as the season is ending, never before). We were laughing that The Last Kingdom (show) has added more sex, & humour, & Outlander has taken more away. Totally the difference between male & female writers we think.
  2. Suggestions always welcome! You liked The Last Kingdom too, right?
  3. I agree about the book and the season having a sadness as we know what is coming when we get to the end . We are hoping but it was given away. I think though for non book readers episode 201 set in 1948 was better done than having the book start in 1968, or I may have cried through 13 episodes knowing it’s 20 freaking years. 20 years - ugh! It makes sense because she had to raise a kid, but I didn’t know it was going to be 20 yrs.
  4. My husband & I just put Medici on our list of shows, good to know Outlander fans like it too!
  5. I thought we would get 7 seasons, as Sam & Cait said they were contracted for 7 seasons (once, somewhere in an interview).
  6. Jamie might not have survived his dislocated shoulder(101), & been left behind then, if it weren't for Claire! It's a time travel show, but it's also about Jamie & Claire's destiny to be together, IMO.
  7. I guess we can watch all the shows we love over & over! I am wondering if anything will get made this year? You cannot social distance on a tv set?(Jamie & Claire not touching each other, HA!) or a movie set, & the staff is huge. I guess we will see once restrictions are slowly lifted.
  8. I threw it out there with a tear in my eye!
  9. Throwing it out there- maybe season 6 is the last one?
  10. A whole lot of new characters, & they just threw them at us without much explanation, but you get to know them as the epis go along.
  11. I assume you mean Brida? She was making pregnancy look badass, but then it unfortunately turned to crazy with rage- Eek! Alfred’s wife in real life is in her 20’s, which explains the youthful look. They all get all over the country pretty quick! Aethelflaed just chose chastity- couldn’t she have figured out a way to have her cake & eat it too?......
  12. I said the same thing- how would he remember where it was? But he did.
  13. In episode 207 Claire slept with the king of France to free Jamie from jail there & also secure a pardon in Scotland!
  14. Some episode thoughts: I am sad that I was not sad during all the goodbyes! I don’t think the stones took Roger, Bree, &Jem anywhere- they ended up right when they left? I can’t wait to hear what happened with Ian, & hope he finds some happiness soon. I did not find Jamie & Claire smelling each other & describing it sexy. I love dirty Jamie the most, but thinking about him actually smelling like manure is a turn off🤮. What did make my husband & I lol was Claire putting on her on perfume & then finding Jamie asleep, I could totally relate to that! Jamie eating peanut butter & jelly with a knife & fork was delightful! And I loved him seeing sperm- did Claire say she got it from him depositing it in her? Hahaha. We knew Claire being Dr Rawlings would come back to bite her! Diana does a good job with dialogue & humour!
  15. I love, love, love cliffhangers! That is all for now!
  16. Yuck, I do not remember that!
  17. I noted a ramping up of the sex & humour in epi 401- hope that continues! I like Uhtred & Aethelflaed together! I hope that doesn’t mean she will die? No, my hubby assured me she an actual historical figure of that time, & quite successful for a woman!
  18. I am replying to this a million years late, but at the time I watched I had not read the book, nor had any of my friends, & not one of us wished she went back to be married to Frank! I agree that the decision at the stones was the one time a voice over was NEEDED, & not provided, but I clearly understood her choosing to stay!
  19. Roger mentioned it last episode- he told Jamie he wouldn’t die from a snake bite because he’s supposed to die in a fire!
  20. I hoped it would be Brianna. I think her sending him to trail is because of being from the 1900's.
  21. Maybe it's drowning for pirates? Agreed, I am looking forward to Ian's story!
  22. I thought this episode was quite suspenseful. I cringed everytime Bonnet looked like he was going to touch Bree. Surely she would not have to be assaulted again? Thank you for that, although that man who wanted to buy her did touch her-YUCK! And I thought she kept her wits about her until she started pleading about going home & how she would return (rolled my eyes). Did Bonnet get the idea from Forbes that he had to turn himself into a "gentleman" to run River Run? I also couldn't believe they wouldn't have just shot/killed Bonnet on the beach. And the earlier argument between Jamie & Roger about who got to do it meant it wouldn't be either of them. And Bonnet saying he was afraid of drowning for the second time (also in 401 I believe), foreshadowing that he should die that way. I kept wishing Bree would find a way to kill him while she was kidnapped! I liked Claire & Bree trying to get the syringe made.
  23. I think some people missed the point of Claire’s touch! These two have a special bond, something kind of magical if you will, can I say that because it’s a show that includes time travel? In case you missed it sex is also a very important ingredient in their relationship, but that was not what I got out of that scene- it was intimacy at its finest! I do not mind all the jokes though, I find them highly amusing!
  24. I loved this episode! Every scene & interaction was wonderfully done by the actors. I have made a decision to read the books after each season ( I was a show fan first) & I think it is serving me well- I have no expectations, so judge the episode on its own merits. Then when I read it I may like some stuff more but it hadn’t Diminished my watching! Something to think about for those of you reading the book right before or simultaneously??
  25. I have never loved a tv character more than Jamie. I notice things like how he made Roger clean the knife with whisky, because Claire said too, I just love that he pays such attention to everything she says.
