  1. This is regarding this recent tweet from Wikileaks: "We are thinking of making an online database with all "verified" twitter accounts & their family/job/financial/housing relationships."
  2. Looks like somebody follows WikiLeaks on Twitter. This "top secret intelligence shared with NBC"...is that just supposed to be the info. that was reported on last night, or is there supposed to be something bigger coming later?
  3. Nope, he's not going to change his tune after the intelligence briefing today. Man, I hope the CIA has some DAMNING evidence against him (of the audio and video sort). Trump Says Focus on Russian Hacking Is a ‘Political Witch Hunt’
  4. Question: How will repealing the ACA make insurance more affordable? Won't many of the healthy people just drop their insurance (since they will no longer be fined for not having health coverage), leaving mostly sick people insured? With millions of people no longer insured, and a large pool of sick people who ARE still insured, won't health insurance premiums everywhere increase? Also, I know that Republicans SAY that they want to keep the more popular parts of the ACA (pre-existing conditions allowed, children can stay on the plan until they're 26), but is that even possible? A while back, I saw this tweet from Eichenwald: Has anyone seen more information on what Eichenwald stated here? Republicans keep claiming that they'll keep the parts of the ACA that people like, but I'm curious to know if that's even possible. By the way, I don't believe that the ACA is as disliked as Republicans choose to believe it is. First of all, there are probably people who don't even realize that the ACA and Obamacare are the same thing. "I get MY insurance through the Affordable Care Act. Down with Obamacare!" Second, we've all seen the stories covering people who rely on Obamacare but voted for Trump anyways. If Republicans are betting on the fact that people who voted for Trump did so in part because they wanted the health care law repealed, they might be in for a big surprise. It seems to me that maybe people voted for Trump even though the ACA is vitally important to them, and they will be in a real bind if it disappears.
  5. Hmm. Not really sure where this discussion belongs, but I went looking for the ratings for last night's Celebrity Apprentice, and saw this: ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Ties Ratings Low With New Host, Topped By ‘The Bachelor’. Now, many of the headlines online are saying that the ratings fell because Trump is no longer participating in the show, but I like to think that people intentionally didn't watch precisely because of his past involvement.
  6. Here are the actual tweets: Now, maybe my reading comprehension is terrible, but as others have noted, the only "backlash" I'm seeing from Trump is regarding the timing. He calls the Office of Congressional Ethics "unfair," but states that dismantling it shouldn't be their main priority. Instead, we've got to make sure that the poor and middle class lose their health insurance and get screwed over come tax time. Priorities, people! No, I don't believe he had ANYTHING to do with Republicans changing their minds. I believe it came down to worried voters calling their representatives:

  8. I think my favorite this year has been My Christmas Love. Bobby Campo is freaking adorable! The main girl annoyed me a bit since she only seemed interested in each guy when she thought he was the one sending her presents, but eh. I'll overlook it...cause Bobby Campo! I also enjoyed the Christmas bucket list movie with Alicia Witt. Again, the lead guy kind of made the movie for me. His reactions to Alicia Witt's character cracked me up, at times. Google tells me the movie is called Christmas List. Christmas in Homestead was another fave of mine. Please use Michael Rady again, Hallmark channel. What is the deal with Journey Back to Christmas? As far as I can tell, they aired it ONE time, and they haven't shown it again since. Hallmark lurves Candice, so this surprises me. Hallmark should let us vote for which couples we want to pair up in their movies. It never fails, I like one of the leads, and the other annoys me! Also, they need to bring in some new actors and actresses because I'm tired of seeing Candice and Lacy and Andrew Walker in every movie ever.
  9. I don't like the 2016 NASA/space stuff mixed in with the 2033 story, mainly because I'm enjoying the 2033 stuff too much! I want to see more of the Mars mission and planet colonization, but I imagine that portion of the show is quite expensive to create (2016 footage there to cut costs, maybe?). Anyways, I was a bit annoyed with time jump because I became invested in the Javier/Amelie relationship when they were close-talking about rain and lavender, so I wanted to see if the show would develop that. So...they waited like four years to kiss?! Was a good kiss, though. I wonder if relationships between crew members are frowned upon? Ha, I suppose there's not much they can do to you if that's a no-no. Frankly, I'm not sure why anyone would want to travel to Mars and live underground like mole-people. Too claustrophobic for me!
  10. Why Obamacare enrollees voted for Trump Interesting article. Here are a few highlights: This is the kind of people we're dealing with here. "Well, I know he said he was going to take this away from me, but I voted for him anyways, and now that he plans to take this away from me (just as he promised), WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? Like seriously, fuck you. You voted for this, so have fun being uninsured (but I AM sorry it's going to take down all the folks who need Obamacare and voted Hillary, because they absolutely don't deserve this).
  11. It's really easy. Click on the tweet you want to embed, and copy that tweet's address as shown in your web browser's address bar (by highlighting the address, right clicking your mouse, and choosing "copy"). Come back to the forums here and right click your mouse in the box where you compose your posts. Choose "paste." The tweet should automatically embed. Hope that helps :)
  12. Lots of empty seats at the Fayetteville NC "thank you" rally last night. Here are links to some photos since we're still not supposed to embed tweets: Here, here, here, here, and here.
  13. Here are some photos of the "victory" rally in Cincinnati last night. The stadium is half empty, LOL. ETA: Here are a few more photos from Twitter: https://twitter.com/Acosta/status/804493299973287936 https://twitter.com/Acosta/status/804461109025603584
  14. Texas elector who criticized Trump says he’s resigning For some in middle class, Trump plan would mean tax increase
  15. LOL LOL LOL. Gerry's face when Sven said he couldn't have a goat...so disappointed. I don't think Sven would have survived Louisa's family. When they were all questioning him at the table, he said "I think the joke is over now, don't you?" and got up to leave. Joke would have been on you, Sven, because they weren't messing around...they are just. that. nutty. Oh my gosh, did you hear Spiros loudly shout "NO!!!" when Louisa told him they were going to Sven's house? I rewound that one a couple of times for laughs. Aw, that was a lovely scene between Larry and Louisa when he was telling her that he was going to move out. Yeah, they're all crazy, but they really care about each other. Is Larry gay as well? When speaking to his mother about Sven and wives, he used the word "we," like he was including himself as a gay man in the conversation. I was so happy that Gerry decided that you don't need to keep animals to love them, but ugh, I was then so disappointed that he didn't go through with releasing them. And I feel like Theo should have been encouraging him to study animals in their natural habitat...NOT in cages. Also, go back and check out Theo's face when Spiros proclaims that "Together, we find you a new Greek husband." Ha, he looks kind of horrified. Maybe a bit too soon, Spiro. A bit too soon. I totally thought that the camera was going to pan to Spiros' face when Larry was telling his mother that there has to be someone for her to love on the island. That would have been a sure sign that Spiros/Louisa will be happening next season, but I'll just continue to hope that those involved with the show see the same chemistry that I do and advance that relationship.
  16. From SPOILER thread regarding 100th ep: LOL, how ominous.
  17. Louisa and Sven are already engaged? That seems fast. He's a nice man, but he's just so boring. He doesn't have the openness and warmth of Theo or the passion and wit of Spiros. I'm kinda hoping that they don't go through with the wedding, if I'm being honest. Couldn't believe that lady asked Louisa if she was sure there wasn't any electricity anywhere. Hmm...just let me look over here. Nope, I don't see any. Ha! Now Louisa, don't get yourself killed while driving like a madwoman. Leave the transportation to Spiros, as his eyes are "sufficiently on the road." If Louisa and Sven marry, does that mean we won't see as much of Spiros? He's always chauffeuring Louisa places and helping her out of binds. I imagine Sven won't like that too much...
