  1. I did chuckle at Mr. Colbourne’s neice embroidering “spinster” underneath Miss Heywood’s name. What a brat! And it was pretty obvious she was setting Charlotte up even before she kept encouraging her to play the piano even louder. I have seen the Colonel Lennox actor in other things and found him cute - but not here. His face is not as full as normal so he looks fish-like to me. I also don’t trust him with the gambling stuff and his freaking terrible judgement of Esther’s douchey step-brother. Agree that Colonel Fraser is better looking and as a bonus, he has a very pleasant voice. He’s my choice for the sister, and I am sure that is where we are heading. So, is Esther going to end up with that lady’s baby? I am not sure what to think of the artist guy. Is he shady or just eccentric? How does Arthur fit into this? Is artist guy being friendly with Arthur to get to Miss Lambe, or is he interested? Artist guy did make me laugh with his comment about the lamb at dinner being a bit cold. And the scene where Arthur woke up and thought he was robbing him was funny as well.
  2. Kate’s blue dress with the lace covering (that she’s wearing when she sits down with Anthony and Edwina and mentions she was stung by a bee, but is fine)…😍 Benedict has some of the best reactions. During the hunting discussion scene, he gets a cringey 😬 look on his face when Anthony is questioning Kate’s shooting skills. And then you can see him nod his head “yes” to Edwina’s suggestion that a maid could be sent on the hunt to act as chaperone. He’s so much fun, gah. When Benedict and the hunting party interrupt Anthony’s sexy gun holding lesson with Kate, it looks like her gun slips off her shoulder and the end of the barrel hits a tree (as they are walking to rejoin the group). Guess Anthony got her a bit worked up because we see her shake it off.
  3. Simone Ashley was wonderfully cast as Kate. I love that she is tall - gosh, the dresses are beautiful on her. And she’s gorgeous of course. Kate and Anthony’s conversation before their final dance was very cute. He tries to take leave, but she throws him a lifeline. He checks her recovery by holding those three fingers up (and the spinning them around to reveal four, ha). The tongue click as if to say “ah damn, you tried.” It’s refreshing to see the fun side of Anthony. Gah, you could see Anthony at the end of the dance fighting his desire to do more (jaw clenched jaw clench), but realizing a room full of people are watching. And the dance ends, and he can’t take his eyes off Kate or let go of her hand 😩 I don’t know if we were meant to see the Queen’s little nod to him as she exits as her saying “yes, I understand now, and you have my approval,” but that’s how I interpreted it. Thanks a lot show, I have had Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” in my head for two days now. I hope this isn’t a dumb question, but is it the expectation now that as head of the Bridgerton family, Anthony (and Kate duh) will live full-time with his mother and unmarried siblings?
  4. I don’t know any of the other Bridgerton’s books, but I realized that I’m not sure I find any of the remaining siblings interesting enough that I would like to watch their story play out over an entire season. Benedict is charming and funny with his family, but anything outside of that bores me. Colin does not smolder and can’t bring the heat (bland bland bland), and Eloise’s best scenes are with her brother!
  5. Okay, yeah, now I’ve spotted Anthony’s pants hanging on a chair when he wakes up the next morning in the gazebo. So they did come off, LOL. And he looks like he’s naked in one scene of Kate’s (for some reason, much dirtier) memory of their night together. Still wish this scene had happened later, considering I had to hear Anthony go on and on about being a gentleman, and being honorable. Not to mention, he was pissed when he caught Simon doing much less to his sister in season one. Like, it doesn’t compute that he would then turn around and have sex with a “proper lady” (or whatever the correct term is) in an outdoor gazebo! I suppose he figured it was a win-win. Don’t get caught, and you get to have sex with the woman you desire. Do get caught, you have sex and are forced to marry her, which is also what you desire 😆
  6. I would have been happy to have the Anthony/Edwina engagement called off and to lose the entire dumb episode where Edwina decides not to marry Anthony. That was just a waste, when we could have used that extra hour at season’s end to see Kate and Anthony’s first six months of marriage. I will trade the Queen spin-off for a Kate/Anthony spin-off that picks up from the garden proposal scene in episode eight (please and thank you).
  7. Oh yeahhh, I forgot about the girl with the F name (literally can’t conjure up her name right now). I can picture her face, though, and recall that she looked the boring sort. Can we just skip her story? LOL. I could have done without any of the boxer/gentleman’s club owner (and his wife) stuff. With Simon gone, they just used up valuable screen time. My preference would have been to end the Edwina and Anthony courting stuff mid-season, marry Anthony and Kate, and then allow us to see much more of the happy honeymoon stage of the relationship in the last few episodes. But at least Kate didn’t have their first child in a tacked on flash-forward in the last two minutes of the season 😆
  8. I watched sexy times gazebo scene a few more times, and I do enjoy that Kate seemed to be quite into it. I will say that it was pretty hot and much better than ladder sex. Anthony tried to send Kate away (twice), and right after hiking up her skirt, he pulled his hands off her, saying (twice) that he would stop. It was a very mutual decision as she told him (again, twice) not to stop. Congrats to him for getting to see that stocking-covered leg again, LOL. And congrats to her for, well, you know. But, Anthony did have his pants on the entire time. So, uh, did he just pleasure Kate, or are we supposed to infer that things went even further (and the pants came off at some point)? 🤔
  9. I love the Kate/Anthony post-disaster-dinner-scene so much. Anytime those two walk into a room alone or find themselves in a room alone, I know it’s going to be good. Ha, he’s trying to use that disastrous dinner as his excuse for calling off the engagement, but she’s not having it. He’s visibly displeased/highly irritated after Kate tells him there will be no plan made to call it off. The whole thing was so sexy, with him making clear that he wants her, and a marriage with her sister will do nothing to stop the feelings he has for her. The marriage will only make him a dishonorable man, as he fears he will not be able resist his pull towards Kate. Whew.
  10. Ha, I get that :) This is just me hating her a little bit for throwing the L word out there, causing him to offer the proposal (because his dumb ass must remove love from the equation). Honestly, Daphne is much improved this season. But she can go away this year, I do not need to see her again (especially if she will not have her gorgeous husband with her). It would be a tad weird if she just keeps popping in with additional kids and no husband (he’s just conveniently “away on business” all the time, I guess?).
  11. “Mr. Plant” 🤣 Yeah, I knew that one of the books had a Sir Philip in the title, so I was confused when he ended up with Marina. Can’t believe that he’s destined for Eloise. Seems like a much better match for Colin or Penelope, seriously. I probably should not have read this book because I suspect that I wouldn’t have been bothered as much by how things played out.
  12. Yes, I was hating Daphne in that moment (well, and in the earlier moment where she interrupted their sexy whisper times and near-kiss). Do not tell him it is love, dummy. The one thing he keeps saying is that he does not want to marry for love!! Damn!
  13. Oh, you have no idea how happy this makes me! I just posted in the final episode thread that I hope they stick around. Jonathan Bailey, in particular, is wonderful 😍 and the chemistry that he shares with Simone Ashley is what most shows can only dream of. OK, the second book is the only one I have read (well, most of it…I stopped shortly after the wedding). I loved the idea of the book but not the execution. I was just not a fan of the author’s writing style and found it kinda cheesy. I had hopes that the show would fix many problematic things from the book, and they did. I am glad they excluded the part of the book where Kate is hiding under the desk while Anthony is getting frisky with Sienna (I think it was?). It was such a dick move when he kissed her and tossed the key to the ground. Also glad that they removed Kate’s debilitating fear of thunderstorms as that was just stupid. And oh god, the 🐝 scene in the show was so much better. There was no way that they could have had Anthony sucking the venom out of Kate’s chest without that scene being mocked for eternity. Minor changes that bugged: I believe that Kate gave her permission/blessing for Anthony to marry Edwina in the book, and I don’t think? that happened here. I know Edwina mentioned it before she forced the two to dance (the dance right before Kate tells him she’s going to leave for India, and he is pissed), but I don’t believe Kate gives the OK. Also, Anthony brought Kate tulips after she recovered from her fall, but I would have liked to see that happen earlier, as in the books. Changes I really really disliked: Anthony proposing to Edwina and making it to the alter. See, I think they fucked this up by seemingly cribbing things from Anthony’s story to give to Daphne and Simon. The show must not have wanted to do the whole “Kate and Anthony are caught in a compromising position and are forced to wed to avoid a scandal” thing since they basically did a version of that with Daphne and Simon. And then I hated that Kate and Anthony, unlike the books, slept together before marrying. Again, Simon and Daphne’s first time at that inn seemed like maybe that was taken from Kate and Anthony’s first time. And don’t even get me started on the show stealing Anthony’s “I burn for you” line and giving it to Daphne, shitheads. The show’s changes led to a version of Edwina that seemed much more interested in Anthony, which was annoying. Having Kate and Edwina at odds was shitty, as was Edwina pointing out that Kate was her “half-sister.” I am not sure how I felt about the lily soap stuff. The first time show Anthony was smelling her (when Edwina is like “Have I been blind? Have they been like this the whole time?), he was subtle about it, and it was a cute little moment. It got a little weird when he was full-on sniffing the air, LOL.
  14. Jonathan Bailey is a hell of an actor, and I really hope he sticks around (with his new wife, of course). There were multiple references to him and his wife moving in, her becoming the new lady of the household, etc., so it would seem that it is the case. But those Brits don’t always seem to like to stick around for too long. Hope he and Simone Ashley are locked in. I did very much appreciate that Anthony apologized to Kate for their sexy gazebo times, letting her know that he shouldn’t have done that, she deserved more, and it should not have happened like that. I mean clearly he wanted it to happen. But with all those mentions of his honor, he seemed intent on it either never happening (if she was leaving), or happening after they were married. The scenes with Anthony and his younger siblings are lovely, and I wish there were more. I imagine they are very close, as he’s basically the only “father” they’ve ever known. Random, but the Queen sends jewelry to show her sympathy? “We are sorry your father died. Here, have this ruby neckace.” Ha ha ha ha. I knew it would be Benedict approaching Eloise when she was sitting alone on the swings. I am just so happy they are close. Glad that Eloise figure out that Penelope is Lady Whistledown. Don’t know how that relationship ever gets repaired, though. They will spend the entire next season not even speaking. Colin, you dick. “I would never dream of courting Penelope Featherington.” Sir, you are definitely not out of her league, WTF? Cried during Anthony’s love speech in the garden. Loved her from their first meeting 😭 Loved the call back to the earlier Pall Mall game with Kate grabbing the mallet of death, and Anthony getting stuck with the pink set, hehehe. I didn’t like her in season one, but I did enjoy that little shot of Daphne (at the end) looking so happy that Anthony was happy with his new bride. All in all, I do not think there will be a better season of Bridgestone than this.
  15. Oh Colin, how rude to joke that your brother might be MIA because he’s maybe still waiting for Edwina at the alter 😂 Hated that Kate and Anthony slept together before any sort of engagement or marriage. Jesus, he kept resisting even kissing her nearly all season, repeatedly mentioning his honor, and then they just do it in an open gazebo or whatever. WTF! Damn, I even thought it was an Anthony fantasy sequence for a moment as he was waking up, but no. They should have gone for a make-out session with some light groping instead, LOL. I’ve grown tired of the Lady Whistledown stuff. I knew I was going to hate the Benedict art storyline. I don’t care to watch him drink drugged tea, or paint naked women, or participate in orgies, blech.
  16. My least favorite episode so far. I was annoyed with the proposal, and now I am annoyed that they made it to the alter. Holy crap yes, this episode dragged on forever. OK, there is something brewing between Lady F and the cousin. Not sure how to feel about that really… That was sweet of the guy (don’t know his name) to set aside those books for Eloise.
  17. It was pretty obvious that Kate would conveniently need to be the engagement ring model for the jeweler. I’m only surprised that they didn’t have Anthony place the ring on her finger, LOL. It makes me sad to think of Kate returning to India alone. I don’t think that’s going to happen, but the thought still makes my heart hurt :( Ooh, Lady Danbury…a scandal, you say? Yes, please. It would probably be better for Edwina to end the engagement, but I’m not sure she’s going to do that. I see you Anthony, trying to use the mess of a dinner with the Sheffields as your excuse to end the engagement. Unsuccessful, but nice try. *fans self* Whew! The way that the Kate/Anthony stuff is playing out is much preferable to the Simon/Daphne ladder sex and stair sex and outdoor picnic sex, etc. I can’t believe the restraint Anthony has shown, quite honestly. Figured a kiss would have happened by now. And yeah, some strange camera work during the scene where Anthony tells Kate just how much he wants her. Like, are they going to try something with Lady F and the cousin??? I am just getting a weird feeling 😂
  18. Ah fuck, fuck, fuck! When Anthony got that ring out, I was like, “Put that god damn thing away.” Ugh, I hate that they had him actually propose to Edwina! The rest of the episode was pretty wonderful, however. Just SO many great Kate/Anthony moments. There was the awkward first time seeing each other after their almost-kiss, the sexy shooting lesson, and him coming a bit undone from seeing her leg/stocking. And then the lovely library scene, where you could see Anthony in the doorway wrestling with knowing he should turn around and leave, but not wanting to. And finally, the dance scene and follow-up conversation. Anthony was losing his fucking mind upon learning that Kate would be leaving. Damn, Kate, the guy was nearly crying. Just tell him the truth; tell him that you care for him 😭 A few other things I enjoyed: Benedict being so amused by Kate and Anthony’s hunting conversation, and Anthony musing that he might be shot dead by her. Also, Lady Featherington remarking that Cressida Cowper might become Prudence’s new mama. Bwah ha ha. So yeah, I loved this episode, except for that stupid fucking proposal. *screams*
  19. Wow wow wow, lots of chemistry during the "almost" kiss. I laughed at Daphne assuming that Kate was Edwina as well. I take notes as I'm watching (LOL), and I literally wrote "Daphne sees it." Ha ha. There were some very nice Anthony/Kate moments with him automatically seeking out and approaching Kate when the Sharma family arrived as well as the Pall Mall scene of them in the mud. Some other moments I enjoyed: Violet and Lady Danbury eavesdropping, Prudence offering to sing and Lady Featherington responding with "oh dear lord," Benedict "alarming the guests" at dinner, and Newton growling at Anthony. Oh no, not a Marina mention! Please, I do not want to revisit any part of that storyline 😫 Anthony's graveside conversation with his mother was heartbreaking. Poor traumatized guy doesn't want to ever inflict on his future wife the kind of pain his mother felt after his father's passing. Oh thank god Anthony did not propose at that family dinner with the Sharmas, and I'm hoping he doesn't pull that trigger in a future episode. To have him engaged to Edwina while his feelings for Kate grow? Would be a mess. I feel kinda bad that Edwina is basically a nonentity to me. She beautiful, sweet, polite, caring, etc., but watching Anthony court and then marry her just isn't the story I'm rooting for. Finally, I'm loving all of Kate's dresses. My favorite so far, I think, has been the lavender one with like the ombré flowers at the bottom.
  20. Probably should have stayed home instead of trying to watch these first episodes at work, gah! Oh my goodness, Lady Danbury had some hilarious reaction shots at the soirée (see the guy dancing and Anthony's poetry reading). Also cracked up at Eloise's confused "What??" to the guy twirling the object on the strings. From the season two previews I had seen, I was worried that Anthony might come off too harsh, but I'm glad that's not the case. Yes, he's a bit gruff, but he also has a sense of humor (which was apparent in that poetry conversation with Benedict). And he's trying to fight it, but we caught him looking at Kate what...like two times this episode? He He He. Oh god, Colin really stuck the dagger in Penelope during their conversation. "You are Pen. You do not count. You are my friend." Ouch man, ouch.
  21. So far, what a delight! The first season was difficult to slog through, and I did not, at all, enjoy Daphne (a "diamond?"...ha, I think not!). Eloise was a favorite of mine in season one, and she continues to amuse me here. Loved her suggesting that the suitor who was playing marbles with her younger siblings might want some milk to drink, bwah ha! Also enjoyed her writing fake names to fill her dance card, clever girl. Watching her dance with her little brother was very cute, aw. And Benedict and Eloise's sibling relationship always warms my heart. Him scurrying her away for cake when that guy (a possible suitor?) appeared gave me a chuckle. The actor that plays Benedict injects much of his charm into the character, but I don't know if I'm enjoying his story. Not keen on the art stuff. Love his interactions with his family, though, and he usually has the best wardrobe (of the men). And then there's Anthony. Destroy him, Kate! I do love Anthony, but he needs the challenge of someone like Kate. I know he has his eyes set on the new "diamond" Edwina, and she seems to meet all of his requirements for a "perfect" wife (which means Kate checks all of those boxes as well since she's the one who taught Edwina to play piano, dance, etc.), but sorry, Edwina. Kate all the way. I'm in the mood for a good enemies to lovers story!
  22. I did not realize that Dr. Phyllis Gardner, Richard, and Ian's widow banded together to take Elizabeth down. I thought it all started with Tyler contacting John Carreyrou, so I was pleasantly surprised there, ha. Loved Dr. Phyllis Gardner asking "Why does everybody want to believe in this girl so badly?" Yes Phyllis, YES, I don't get it either! Uh, that birthday party with the Elizabeth masks was creepy as hell. Yikes. And then requesting that Tyler sing that cheesy ass song twice? Double-yikes! Enjoyed Erika chewing Tyler out because he didn't believe (at first) that Elizabeth could have known anything about what was going on at her company. Tyler seemed like a decent guy, and I'm glad he wanted to protect Erika and her job. Grandpa Schultz was kind of a delusional A-hole, though. Like why would you believe Elizabeth over your own grandson (who has a work colleague backing him up)? Shameful.
  23. Season 2 video with author Julia Quinn. A bit spoilery. Includes more footage of the lake scene around 9 minutes in. They also mentioned that the Queen is getting a spin-off, which I didn’t know (will not be watching that, LOL).
  24. Sidney getting the death treatment in the first five minutes? Okay, then. Guess they wanted to make it very clear that Theo James is never returning. Sad that the Babbington actor decided not to return, leaving Esther with this crappy storyline. She deserved a happy ending after last season. And now the shitty step-brother is back? Ugh, no thanks! The Charlotte actress looked tired/worn-out and just generally unwell. And I don’t recall complaining about her hair in season one, but it looked messy bad most of the episode. Not digging the new men that have been cast. Stringer was very cute, and I would have been happy to see Charlotte with him, but the actor probably made the right choice leaving LOL. Charlotte’s sister and the guy named Captain Fraser (not the guy who saved her after the carriage crashed) look like a couple I might be able to root for. Looks like it will be one of those “he secretly pines for her while she is clueless” type of storylines. Arthur is sweet, and I wish nothing but good things for him. Can’t believe this got renewed for two seasons!
