  1. I'm just...not sure what kind of "change" Trump supporters want. You don't want a President who is intellectually curious and has a deep understanding of a wide range of worldly issues? You don't want a President who is respected by many world leaders? You don't want a President who is compassionate and speaks out against injustices? You don't want a low unemployment rate, cheap gas, affordable taxes, regulation that protects the Earth (you know...that place you live)? Do you want to consume poisoned food and water? Cause I don't! I will never ever understand why people vote against their best interests. I don't even know what to say to people who listened to Trump and really believe things he said, like his promises to bring jobs back to America. The guy who buys his steel from China is going to fight for your mill job in Ohio? LOL, no. You're all going to be unemployed, and you probably won't be able to find affordable health insurance once your COBRA coverage runs out. He doesn't care about you, and he sure as hell doesn't care about those of us who didn't vote for him. Welp, maybe when some of these folks figure out he's a lying liar who lies, a few of the Midwestern states will swing blue again and give us a Democratic President in 2020. I mean, unless Russia wants Trump to win again. Then who knows what actually happens...
  2. Ratings will be delayed about an hour and a half past normal (which is generally around 10 am central time) due to some "extra quality checks." ETA: Hmm. I guess they lied. Ratings were posted at the normal time (Literally two minutes after I posted this info, ha).
  3. He's just one guy, but he's got the power of the Senate and House behind him. I'm afraid of how much damage they can do before this IS over. We got an email at work about "The election's impact on healthcare reform" (aka Goodbye, Obamacare).
  4. I felt pretty good going into this election. Of course I voted, and I made sure that my family members voted (for Hillary). We had too much to lose if we didn't. But when they started saying that all of the "battle-ground" states were too close to call last night, I got this sick feeling in my stomach. I went to bed at midnight and woke up at 3 am, shivering (anxiety level 11). My gawd, what have we done?! I'm not upset that a Republican won. I'm fucking terrified that Donald Trump won. What the hell is our future going to look like? As a woman, I'm worried about the government ripping away my right to choose what I do with my body. I'm worried for my mother who lives on social security and savings. Will we have to watch the economy circle the drain again? I'm worried about my taxes increasing, I'm worried about $4 a gallon gas, I'm worried about millions of people losing their health insurance, I'm worried about unemployment skyrocketing, I'm worried for the safety of POC, I'm worried about families being ripped apart, I'm worried about a fucking nuclear war. It feels like every good thing that happened in the last eight years is going to burn to the ground, and there's no way to stop it because Republicans have control of everything now. God, this is depressing.
  5. PTV has a political forum if anyone is interested. I can't even talk about it, like I'm sitting at my work desk ready to cry, but in case anyone feels discussion might help, that's the link.
  6. My season 3 rage turned into season 4 apathy, and then the BMD finished off the only part of the show that I even remotely cared about. Had the show actually gone "back to basics" in season 5 and focused on OTA instead of adding 50 million new masks, I might have kept watching, but nah. Spoilers are what cemented my decision (absolutely nothing coming up interests me), so I'm glad I stopped wasting my time and just quit for good. Add in the nastiness coming from the EPs and writers (just yuck!), and I'm not sure I would consider returning unless there was a huge shake-up behind the scenes.
  7. I did go back and check, and Spiros has a gold band on his right hand. You can see it in the scene where he's bribing the judge with stamps. And I know that one of the children mentioned him possibly being married because they saw a family photo in his taxi. I'm wondering if like Louisa, he's widowed. While I was checking out the Spiros scenes, I rewatched the one where he drives Louisa to her outing with the drunken captain. "That's a yacht?" chuckle chuckle chuckle followed by a serious face when Louisa gives him a stern look. Hilarious. And I just can't get over that lovely scene where Spiros returns Louisa's wedding band. I was waiting for Spiros to slip the ring back on her ring finger for ~symbolic~ reasons, so I'm a bit bummed that didn't happen. I'm so glad this show got renewed for a second season.
  8. Yes, that's the one thing that bothers me about little Gerry. At first, I thought he was just observing and studying the animals. That's fine and educational, but he has no business caging up sea birds and bats, etc. It does seem cruel (even though I know that's not his intent), and the family doesn't have enough food to feed themselves, let alone fifty million "pets." LOL, I forgot about that horrible dress and everyone's reaction to it. My mind must has wandered because I didn't even know who the drunken sailor guy was (was he the same guy Lawrence tried to set his mother up with earlier in the season?) or how she happened to get invited on his "yacht."
  9. Sven? Sven!? You have Spiros and Theo right in front of you, Louisa, and Sven is the one you choose? I mean, I know I'm biased cause I already ship Spiros with Louisa, but OMG. When he stated that he knew she had sold her wedding ring to help Leslie, and then returned the ring to her and told her "Don't ask," that was it for me. Those two have to end up together (eventually), right?? I love the Theo/Gerry mentor/mentee relationship. When Louisa asked Gerry what 8 times 7 is, and Gerry replied, "Is it in the 50s?", Theo's response cracked me up. Something like, "Well done. It is indeed in the fifties." Then, when Gerry was recounting how he stuffed the bat, Theo was beside him tallying the steps on his fingers as Gerry mentioned each one. He's so proud of his little apprentice. The kids can all be really awful, terrible human beings, but gosh, they crack me up. When the turkey farmer was trying to tell Leslie that his dog had killed some turkeys, and Leslie was like, "Oh my God, he has rabies!", I LOLed. Speaking of rabies, I hope the eldest boy didn't contract the disease from all of those bats in the outhouse. That's the stuff of nightmares!
  10. Jason O'Mara? He is quite cute (and he's Irish, which I didn't realize until after I saw him on Life on Mars)...loved him in Berkeley Square and a few other things, but beware! He's a show killer! Poor guy seems to have such bad luck with the roles he chooses, ha.
  11. I live in Northern Illinois, so I want the Cubs to win even though I don't watch sports ever. LOL. I saw some Gotham gifset online, and I have a question for those who watch. Is Penguin If so, damn, I'm a bit sad I stopped watching. I always liked
  12. You don't apply. They just randomly choose you, I guess, and send you the survey in the mail. My grandma got chosen years ago, and I had to fill out the booklet for her. If I recall correctly, the booklets were the same then as they are now, ha.
  13. I mean, I'm kidding, kind of. I absolutely do think that there's a possibility that Tina is the new BC and she will be in a relationship with Oliver at some point. But that's really the extent of how much I want to discuss that because LOL, this opinion tends to garner some hostile reactions, so I'm just going to quietly wait and see and snicker over in my corner if something does happen.
  14. They contact you. Nielsens sent me a postcard this spring saying they would be sending me some info soon, and then I never heard back. A month or two ago I received an envelope with $5 and a quick survey to fill out and return. I sent that back and received the viewing booklets (one for each TV in the house) and $30 in an envelope yesterday. Technically, I could just keep the money and throw the booklets in the garbage, but I'd like to give my shows whatever help in ratings that I can.
  15. Woo hoo! I get to be a Nielsen Family this week. I just got one of the paper viewing booklets to fill out for a week, but they put $30 cash in the envelope for the trouble of filling out the booklet (I guess), so that's cool!
  16. Oh, that was way easier than I was trying to make it. Thank you! Antonio Negret (directed Arrow episode 3x20, among others) is directing next week's Lethal Weapon episode:
  17. Is there a helpful "how-to" section somewhere in previously.tv that would show me how to post tweets and stuff like you guys are? I probably should have learned this by now, but I haven't :(
  18. I just posted the link to that article in the SPOILERS thread :)
  19. Supergirl adjusted down in the finals: 0.8 and 2.651.
