  1. I'm pretty shocked that the show is going there as much as they are in calling out the sainted Carly. Preach Nelle, PREACH! Not really acknowledging until now the parallel between Nelle and Carly and calling out what a monster Carly was when she first got to town and for several years after (she's still awful albeit a more subdued awful) was terrible writing. And infuriating. Carly was always loathsome but she at least used to be fun to watch and a dynamic character. Now everyone on this show is a hopelessly boring dud.
  2. Aw I guess I'm minority because I do want Lainey and CB to get together! But down the line. It's one of the main reasons I'm watching. I think they have good chemistry and Brett Dier is just too adorable as CB. I'm hoping that CB is over it (but not really of course) and gets a new girlfriend as Lainey catches feelings and that can go for all next season. Yes its a constantly recycled trope but for good reason imo, because most of the time it works. I don't want to see either of them with some new person that isn't part of the main group. I DEFINITELY want the Barry stuff to be wrapped up by seasons end because he annoys the bejesus out of me. And while I really like Aunt Julie, I want Coach and Wilma together, I think she'd keep him in line and they would be hilarious together. As for the episode, I loved the teachers friendship being featured and all of them being so encouraging to CB. When he showed up at the end and that whole scene, though predicable, it was still great and very sweet. That and Principal Glasscott's poetry made the episode for me.
  3. And bronzer. Yeah he at least used to put her in her place every so often and would appear visibly annoyed by her antics. Days of yore. I've said I'll take Robert any way I can get him on this show, but this....this is testing the boundaries and limits of my devotion. I don't think I could stomach watching Robert stick his neck out to help Borg and his sleeve tugging +1.
  4. Nik busting through the door carrying Ava was what soaps are made of! I loved it so much not even the leather twins latest session of woe due to a mess of their own making could bring me down.
  5. It's nice to find a group here that aren't complete and total Barry / Barry&Lainey stans. I liked the relationship well enough for The Goldbergs but we already know they don't end up together and it makes sense that they aren't long term compatible. I agree with those that are tired of the same redundant plot point of CB loves Lainey, he's pining, he doesn't get how she's with Barry, he tries to win her heart, then is won over by Barry and bows out gracefully. Rinse and repeat. We're only midway through season 2 for goodness sakes. Just break up Lainey and Barry once and for all. I think that's a likely season finale and it's ramping up to that. The show would be better served if the characters, particularly the main two, could start building up an independent offshoot of the original show. I want to watch a CB/Lainey slow burn, not Lainey/Barry antics for the umpteenth time that lead nowhere.
  6. I'll always miss Robin although I prefer she stay gone and happy with Patrick and the kids. She's always been a Sason apologist but with this dismal writing team, as we've seen during her last few stints, they'd only completely ruin everything about her. 90s Brenda. I wish they'd never killed off Emily although they'd already done a number on the character by that time. I look at AT as Emily a lot like I do JMB as Lulu. Great casting, far better writing while they were on and much more believable portrayals. But Emily was an important character IMO, and should've been recast and still be on today. Nikolas. I'd love Tyler Christopher because he is Nikolas but I'm not sure how realistic that is after everything that's happened behind the scenes. Taggert. The PCPD needs him. I loved his unadulterated hatred for Sonny. We need more of that. We need any of that. Which reminds me, I'd also like Rick/RH back. Pretty much every Q. Alan, Tracy, AJ, Skye. I'm probably in the minority preferring Billy Warlock as AJ, I just think he's a really good actor. I'll always wish they'd get a really solid actor in as Lucky and do right by the character but after so much damage has been done, right down to making him an absentee, deadbeat dad, its likely too late to salvage him.
  7. This is by far my new favorite show. It's so kooky and riveting. Finally something different and well written. Everyone is great in their role. Dunst is awesome as always and is the perfect lead. And Theodore Pellerin, what a debut! He's really fantastic. He's been able to portray Cody as simultaneously sleazy and empathetic. Obnoxious and endearing. And seamlessly transition between the two. The intersection between cult and MLM scheme is interesting. The people who tend to fall into these scams are well represented as well as those that know how to be users, from Krystal to Obie. I completely see Krystal as a survivor but her tactics and intentions as we know are not entirely pure. Obie is insane and a total narcissistic sociopath but I suspect he wasn't always this unhinged. It's hard to believe he was always at this level of crazy and managed to amass such a following. His mental and physical vulnerabilities will synch up perfectly with Krystal being able to get the better of him. I want to know why Cody's father is in prison and why he won't see him.
  8. I still don't think, in the end, anything will happen to Tate. They're getting as close as they can to that point but to kill the kid would be too dark, even for this show. Especially if its due to the tampered plane crashing with Tate inside. I mean, how horrific can they get? Kayce's son dies in the plane he rigged to crash? No. It gets to the point where the shock and dysfunctional tragedy becomes too much to stomach. I do wonder if there's going to be a season 4 Dexter-esque twist where Kayce thinks all is settled only to find Monica metaphorically (but also literally) dead in the bathtub. Aka, killed by the Becks. I was theorizing since last season that Walker was undercover or recruited to go undercover for the government. And then this season that compounded with the new day rancher who comes in and out. Maybe he's another agent sent there to check in and see how Walkers doing. But now I don't know. Walker can't just be dropped off at the "train station," alive and that is that. And now Cowboy is leaving too. Hmm... Imagine a season finale where it ends with Feds storming the ranch and John being whisked off in cuffs. Monica collapsing at the end got to me. As much as I can't stand her character 99% of the time, this episode is when I found her most bearable and realistic and when she crumbled for Tate, I felt it. I think Beth is right, she's just too nice and too good. You'd think she'd be harder and tougher given how she grew up but its not in her nature, so I don't see how she continues on in this dynamic unless something happens to seriously harden her and at the same time commit her to the Duttons. WHY WOULD JOHN SEND TATE OUT ALONE?! HELLO?! Don't give me the BS about the place full of ranchers to watch at all times. We've never seen John have that kind of mafia like security commitment. The ranch has always been comically lax with security for all that's happened. I mean how many places can good ole Rip be at one time? It was late and there's two psycho brothers out for Dutton blood. Did he already forget what they did to Beth? Good grief. Then there's Monica upstairs moping, as per usual. Kayce out getting violent vengeance, as per usual. Poor Tate. He better be ok! I don't think we're getting the full Jamie and Beth history/story until next season. Just as well. There's enough going on.
  9. That's why I'm leaning more towards something happening that causes her to lose her ability to have children rather than loose Rip's child. Because, unless it happened without Rip ever knowing or knowing the whole story, I don't think he'd be so cool with Jamie. It's also possible that if something like this theory happened, Beth holds much more anger and resentment (aka seething hatred) towards Jamie over it than the others because it affected her personally. If it was a horrible accident or something unintended, Beth being Beth would never forgive Jamie but the others may see the situation with more nuance.
  10. Lisa LoCicero going from the devastating news over Dante and being an emotional wreck to skipping and giggling into Charlie's makes me wonder if she thought those scenes would be reversed when she initially filmed them. Benefit of the doubt. Because that was a quick recovery. How big of Jason to half assed mumble out, Elizabeth probably won't see it Sam's way that her husband and the stepfather her kids adore should vaporize forever. Real talk, I always hated Franco and I hope he is gone forever, and this story is SO STUPID, but I'll take Frew/Dranco over Franco any day. Still in the soap world the brain tumor excuse is, *sighs* legit so Sam and Jason high grounding over anything ever is RICH.
  11. I agree with those that think whatever happened between Jamie and Beth has to do with Beth's ability to have a child. I'd bet that something Jamie did, directly or indirectly, resulted in Beth losing Rip's child and/or resulting in her infertility. I know there was the flashback of Jamie at Christmas expressing, even back then, irritation with Beth but I think it'd be more dramatic if that was just a minor moment and at one point Jamie and Beth were actually very close and this contemptuous relationship happened after the major event. Kelly Reilly has referred to what happened as "heartbreaking" and "a betrayal." I tend to think that would be more poignant if they were close and not already at odds. I don't know if that's why John doesn't love him the same as the others. That I think may be another revelation down the line. And while she's by far the weakest character and actor on the show, IMO, that is not my (only) reason for thinking Monica dies. I think when Beck pushed the photos aside and the large one of Tate was on top it was a misdirect and the easter egg is Monica's photo separate from the rest. Sure it could just be to acknowledge she'll leave or she'll never truly feel like she fits but something needs to happen to harden Kacey so much he sets firmly on the road to being John Jr. and all about the ranch. Losing his wife will do that. He'd be seriously damaged but survive, he wouldn't survive losing Tate. (I SWEAR IF THEY HURT ONE HAIR ON TATE'S HEAD!!!!) Also, if Monica dies and Tate is there with her it mirrors Kacey's own experience. Being out in the wilderness and watching his mother take her final breath. And Kacey will know exactly what John felt like.
  12. Oh how I hope Nina exits with MS. A poorly conceived character that never gelled with the show and is featured far too frequently. Hopefully this frees up some budget for decent actors, characters, recasts. Jason Thompson can't be sleeping easy.
  13. Why didn't Dante just tell Lulu I got in over my head, got brainwashed and now I keep dreaming of killing you. I have to get my mind right because I love you and the kids and don't want to hurt you. The, "I'm different now," was so dumb and Dante has always been pretty direct. The whole scene was deja vu from the first time he left and went on the mission that got us here. Lots of crying, no goodbyes to any other family, an unspecified future outcome. Dumb. Dear God this show and their Jasus obsession. He even had to be the one to save Dante from his knife wielding trance. The scenes with Cam and Liz and her meeting Trina were cute. But RoHo's haircut is a travesty. Stop it.
  14. Hah I thought the same thing when Kristina stormed out. They should've had Molly yell, "You're in the middle of your shift!" Or zoom in on one of the extras saying, "She was my waitress... And the only waitress." Then Jason and Michael should've turned, winked at each other then the camera and commenced a Hippy Hippy Shakes Cocktail homage.
  15. I know! They can't manage the simplest continuity on this show its astounding. I too missed DZ and was so happy when he showed up. He's lookin' good. He'll probably shoot Sonny in the shoulder and then in the ensuing chaos they both get the jump on Raj and the bad guys but Raj will likely escape. In my head canon, Dante will get a little joy out of putting a non fatal slug into his old man. I found the two sisters screaming at each other all over Charlie's while Jason and Michael looked on pretty comical. And that Molly was so aggravated by everyone around Kristina being such a moron. I really want Molly featured more. But Julian should've been there, I agree. Although Julian should've also been by Ava's side the minute she got back to PC and that didn't happen either. I snickered at Sam's "I do have kids," line and wondered if the writer's trolled us or KeMo did with an ad lib. Either way, funny nod to the most blasé mother of the year.
  16. Leave it to Molly. She's around Kristina for ten minutes and can deduce her bubble head sister is in a cult. I really wish Molly were around more. And that the writers weren't dumbing down Alexis so much in this. She should be able to realize right away that these bootleg Scientologists are bad news. I see tomorrow Super Jase is on the scent of Sonny and Dante. He should touch down in Ankara just in time to whip his pistol out of his leather jacket and save the day. Robert will enter the room a couple seconds later. WHY. DO. I. WATCH. THIS? At least Scotty happened upon Ava to help her through this inevitable nervous breakdown. Sheesh.
  17. Can someone call Julian for Ava? How heartless are these SOBs? The woman just found out that she was about to marry and being manipulated and actually raped by a serial killer who also killed her daughter and they just what? Dropped her off at the bar when they got in from Niagra? Luckily Franco happened to be around to help her out for a minute, good lord. It was bad enough Jason let us know he only saved Ava from plummeting to her death because Laura was there. What?? Grrrrr.
  18. I liked the Jordan and Liz exchange because they both made valid points, imo. Jordan's plan was one of tunnel vision. It hurt Liz and her sons, it was dangerous, and she probably could've let her in on it but it worked. At the same time Franco is Franco and there are always going to be the issues Liz mentioned and she needs to face the consequences of her own choices which Jordan called her out on. I thought both ladies were good in that scene. As far as Friz goes as a couple, I hope this is the beginning of the end. Ava inching towards realizing and accepting what happened with the culmination being her horror over Kiki was well done. Another scene where I loved seeing two talented, established actresses nail it and play so well off each other. I'm happy Laura was the one in that scene coaxing Ava through it. I'm way past annoyed that Robert Scorpio is back and in order to enjoy him I have to endure Sonny. Go to hell, show. Jason saving Carly, yawn. I hit FF through all of that. I will be pleasantly surprised if the preview pans out the way it looks and Jason tells Carly to cut Ava some slack because without her she would've frozen to death.
  19. Same as the hideous platform boots Sam wears along with those ugly skinny jeans. Or Jordan's kitten heels that are always scratching against the floor as she walks. And lest we forget the cartoonish, never changing outfit of Jason "black tee" Morgan. Wardrobe, like everything else on this show, leaves a lot to be desired.
  20. This is how I feel once being a long suffering Liason fan lol I'm way over it now and the ship has sailed, I wish Jason would disappear off the face of the earth again, but it's annoying and unrealistic that Jason never crosses paths with Liz, even in a friendly way or actively parents Jake, the kid he thought was dead for years. He's a total deadbeat asshole. Drew is never seen with his daughter, but we "see" Jason around her all the time. It's gross. We'll never see Drew get to do anything especially smart or heroic, nothing front burner because that all goes to Jason no matter how shoehorned, as we witnessed today with his gun toting buffoonery. And as a Liz fan forget it. The big stuff goes to Laura, KeMo and Maura, the last of which at least has range and can put forth a decent performance. Liz, despite having a huge fan base, is left to intermittently wring her hands over her kids or man child now husband, and sit on hospital benches having pointless conversations. I know the Ryan stuff has its flaws but I'll be really bummed when its over and we're left with the ridiculous cult plot, the coma inducing baby switch and a sixteen year old kid dying of brain cancer. It's so much better than 99% of what we've had the last few years and JL is amazing, I hope Mo and SBu are seething with jealousy. Soon it'll be back to the mooby and borg show and I'm dreading it.
  21. Seriously. No, I'm going by now to check on Jake or any comment about his son that's been living with a supposedly cured but recently re-activated serial killer that he's always hated? It's so lazy and pathetic. Just like when Lulu was injured and while they mentioned Dante nobody mentioned Luke or Lucky once. It really doesn't take that much to maintain these familial connections in passing. It's one of the million reasons the show is so terrible. That's what was so great about soaps, everyone was always connecting and in a way that made sense, not a convoluted, surface way that allowed a few characters to but into every story and play savior.
  22. You'd think by now they'd have devised some sort of walker catching system so that herds approaching don't get this close to their gates.
  23. This show needs Rick. Alpha needs 1-800-dentist
  24. I'm not excited for the This is Us-esque time hopping they've adopted.
  25. I'd like Drew and Liz to get a chance again as well. They have great chemistry and watching them doesn't make me feel stabby. Franco sucks and needs to go. Ideally scenery chewer (figuratively and literally) RoHo would go but we all know that will never happen. So I don't know why, since he legally now can, FV doesn't take RoHo off for a month and bring him back as Todd. I mean WTF at this point, right? It's all such crap anyway. Although a return of Todd may bring with it a Starr. And KA did make mention of something GH related recently. Oh God this could actually snowball into disaster. Best to give RoHo a third character to play ala Michael Easton.
