  1. Yes, I know Luminara wasn't the perpetrator, that it was Barriss. I just don't find her to be such an inspiring teacher when her padawan went so off the rails. Especially when Anakin's didn't. Also, Ezra and Kanaan both bore me. They're so alike, they'll help each other. Yay. I do like Hera a lot though. And yeah, the blades are thin. It's weird. I hope the episodes are building towards something. It just seems predictable right now.
  2. From tvdb.com: Luminara, hunh? The one whose padawan went nuts and framed Ahsoka for bombing the Temple which forced her to leave the Order. That Luminara? Alrighty then. But if it's a trap, doesn't seem like we'll see her.
  3. Let's keep it to the episode. I know it's easy to get off on a tangent talking about other episodes and their way of life in general, but we do have other topics for that. Please keep it on topic!
  4. Some off-topic posts have been deleted. Please keep this thread about Jill and Derick.
  5. Please take any talk about religion to the correct topic. And while discussing religion, be respectful of your fellow posters. Remember, this is like a dinner party.
  6. I don't think 12 year olds are the target audience because it was met with a resounding meh by mine. And one would have thought, to incite interest in the upcoming movie, they would aiming at 12 year old boys. I'd like to think he's just jaded, but he only just stopped liking Jar Jar *shudder*, so I don't know. I was kind of liking Zeb, but that went down a few notches. In fact, the only character I look forward to is Hera, and she lost a few points with the whole "joke" of a wild goose chase. Speaking of the 12 year old, he wondered what happened to the supplies that they needed to get, and Zeb had in hand at the beginning. I know why they had the scene with the farmers, and why they tied it with Ezra. But anvils give me a headache.
  7. I appreciated that both Cig and George, while clearly not in their comfort zone, did not stonewall like Darren I-don't-do-robots and not fulfill the requirements of the challenge. They were worried because they could see they were at a disadvantage, but they followed the advice and did their best. I really liked how Cig likened it a beautiful work of art and that it changed his mindset. That they both felt that they learned something and grew as artists. I enjoy seeing people who are willing, however filled with trepidation they may be, to expand and explore something new. Especially artists.
  8. I love the MCU, but am not familiar at all with the comic books, so the only knowledge I have is gleaned from what comic book readers share. All of which is to say that the MCU has changed storylines quite a bit. I know there was some grumbling about Winter Soldier. And from what I understand Guardians of the Galaxy was different, too. So, given that it's a few years down the road, I'm willing to wait and see. Though it would break my heart if I had to see Stark put Cap in cuffs, though I can see where their viewpoints and beliefs would diverge on that. It's honest and dramatic storytelling. I'm still impressed with how much thought and planning has gone into the MCU.
  9. I really get bored with the droids so was glad the title was a little misleading. Still not digging Kanaan or Ezra. But I'm thrilled we got to see Organa at the end. The animation isn't all that interesting and I can feel that it's geared to kids rather than kids and their parents. But, it's only the second episode and I'll give it a chance. Speaking of kids, my 12 yo boy was less than impressed with the appearance of R2DC and C3PO. In fact, he did the Home d'oh facepalm.
  10. Sing it! "The Internet is for PORN!"
  11. Hi folks! We seem to have drifted into personal school stories. Can we please make our way back to discussing the episode? School and learning is a great topic to talk about, so feel free to continue that discussion here, in the Small Talk area. Thanks!
  12. It didn't bother me that Abbie and Crane were talking so loudly in front of Hawley because I figured if Hawley had been working with Jenny on stuff, he had an understanding of the "supernatural" qualities of items. After all he knew about the stained glass containing it. And I got the feeling that Crane and Abby had the same understanding. He didn't learn that they were Witnesses, but they were dealing with weird stuff. And he would be fine hearing some things and just rolling with it.
  13. I think by having May say at the beginning that it's not easy, and it doesn't get easier, and the whole checking the pulse is supposed to be hinting that something is not quite right with Skye since she took the alien formula too. Plus she's an 084. I could be giving the showrunners too much credit, though. Fitz and Simmons are breaking my heart, but I like that they're not static as characters. But I'm glad I got to "know" them as silly and smart and almost annoying in season 1, even if it did seem slow and boring. Shut up Ward. And if Brett Dalton is normally that creepy, they chose the right actor for the part. But sheesh, I feel all creepy crawly when he's talking. And Skye has that look of I can't wait to get out of here, too. If he's getting a redemption arc, at least they're making those he wronged have a whole lot of time giving him shit about it. So, that's good.
  14. Sterling Forest is a real place, by the way. It's where I would go to the local Ren Fair. Have never hunted, so not sure about that. Was so glad that Crane understands that Abbie's doubts about Katrina are not unfounded. Equally as glad to see him not excuse or dismiss Henry and warn Irving. He may try to understand Henry better, but Crane mistrusts Henry, too. It's just wrapped up in guilt. I'm a little more intrigued with Reyes. I wonder if she is sort of like an Angel. They weren't always harbingers of good times, even if they did help you. You were expected to do the work. What is the saying, God doesn't give you anything you can't handle. Perhaps Reyes as Angel is pushing Abbie and Crane and Jenny to do the hard work that they need to do. As for the prophesied Apocalypse, it's my feeling that Moloch is trying to rush the deadline as it were. The powers of evil are trying thwart God's intentions. I enjoyed Hawley too. He was a bit shifty, but the reason he rubbed Crane the wrong way is because they're somewhat alike. I appreciated that.
  15. Folks, can we we keep this about Duggars in the Media? Your Halloween stories are not really about Duggars in the Media. I'm thinking it belongs more in the Things Duggars Do That Annoy You. Or if discussing the religious aspect of it, in the Gimme That Old Time Religion. Thanks!
  16. I did not have a hotel room--got married at my home and just stayed :)--but if I did have one I would have been beyond pissed if someone put rose petals in my room. What a way to not know me at all and impose what you like on me. Because in this case, it is the thought that counts and they would have only been thinking of themselves and what they like. In short, if it's something your sister wouldn't want/doesn't like, don't do it. It's her wedding, not your sisters future SIL's.
  17. I don't know that I'll watch Gracepoint. I saw Broadchurch on BBCAmerica and if they changed the ending, I would not be happy. Also, it was not a very cheerful show. I would still be a little irate if they changed the ending, though I would suppose it would depend on how it was changed.
  18. So, I've caught two commercials from Lowe's where a person's Football Self is encouraging their normal self to get the yard/house work all done so they can watch football the next day. Makes me laugh and it's on point. Then again, I'm one of those that hopes it's sunny on Saturday so I can get the yard cleared of leaves and watch football on Sunday. Which is further kudos to Lowes because they show a man and a woman.
  19. Yay for sturdy houses! Pixel, office support/manager type stuff for a smallish business. Answering phones, scheduling, filing. There's an accountant that comes in monthly, but tracking that stuff too. Office stuff. Good people, awesome place--they do custom closet and storage. I'm so thrilled! It'll be a bit of an adjustment for me and the kids not being home, but I know we'll be fine.
  20. Earthquakes are so scary! Guess you'll be dealing with aftershocks for a little while.
  21. Whoa! Glad to hear you're safe, at least! Found some info, a 6.1 is nothing to sneeze at!
  22. I love oreos and most cookies. And I will celebrate tonight with some cookies because....I GOT A JOB!! YAY!! And maybe some sparkling wine.
