  1. I'm not a huge fan of Tyler Florence. That said, to me Tyler's a little more smug and thinks he's the shit while Christoper think's he's the shit, but also think no one else is. I get the vibe some of Christopher's attitude comes from insecurity. Where is Christopher from? I noticed the last episode or two a slight NO accent. Has he been there long enough to pick one up?
  2. I think both men and woman are the subject of stereotypes and sexism in commercials. For women, it's the nagging, bitchy, shrewish harpies that know it all (ref: Yoplait shrew, refrigerator bitch ragging on her son and husband) and for men it's that they're clueless, drooling, emasculated morons incapable of so much as breathing without their wife's help (ref: Yoplait's shrew husband, refrigerator bitch' son and husband). I find both portrayals offensive and a turnoff to whatever they're selling, if I'm not already turned off to it already (ref: Yoplait).
  3. Oh good, I thought it was just me. Yes, this cast is definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel.
  4. Derrick is clearly the most awkward in those credits. I wonder why he signed up for this. He's not a famewhore with dreams of being a star. He doesn't seem interested in the house shenanigans. And emotionally speaking he's about 4 times older than anyone else in the house. I think he said in the intro he's doing it for the money for his family. He'd do better on Survivor (and get more money if he won). I wonder if he applied for Survivor but since they just had Tony on they dumped him on BB instead.
  5. Somebody get him back stat. There's no one better qualified to publicly "treat" delusional famewhores and their particular brand of crazy.
  6. The Night Shift: No Cliche Left Unscripted. There'll be a bus load of nuns in peril soon. Just wait.
  7. I saw the compilations of previous season intros in the other thread. Ye Gods, please nothing to remind me of that Love Connection season. That's season is to BB what the Family Edition was to TAR.
  8. Say what? These people are cra-cra. At least they're not vile like last year's players--or haven't shown it yet. Frankie's going to get a lot of toaster ovens by the time the summer's over. Seriously, is every dude in the house coming on to him?
  9. "Man in a Hurry". Great episode. Definitely captured the quintessential atmosphere of the small towns that Mayberry represented.
  10. An instant classic. The follow up (John Hamm's John Ham) wasn't as good but I still enjoyed it.
  11. Oh my. Fair Haven. Yeah, I'm in the not liking that plot camp. One of the things I dislike most about Voyager overall is how holograms/holodecks were used in the show, and used so frequently. The Doctor was one thing and I didn't mind minor bits like Captain Proton and Janeway's Gothic holonovel. I even liked the old school holodeck gone awry story where Seska tries to kill Tuvok. But the Hirogen turning the ship into a holodeck, the Doctor breaking down (unable to distinguish daydreams, etc), Barclay's re-emergence of holoaddicition, the nutty alien hologram that killed his ships' crew, Doctor Zimmerman surrounding himself with holographic companions, the Hirogen holograms that took B'Elanna hostage, the whole (poorly) redone Measure of a Man plot that made holograms out to be slave labor. It was all just annoying.
  12. The reluctant hero thing was a bit cliche, but the story behind how he became a hero in the first place definitely made the character and you could understand how emotionally tortured he was.
  13. I don't think Shining Knight was prominently showcased at all. I thought he was was of the seen but not heard characters except for a random line of dialogue by an uncredited VA in the Seven Soldiers of Victory tribute. The plot of Hawk and Dove certainly didn't do anything to help my opinion of the characters. It was like "hey, we've stunted casted these two guys, can you write something real quick for them to voice?" I thought the whole peace vs. war angle in their characters was too heavy handed.
  14. The tournament rounds are always one a week, so it should run for 5 weeks. They almost always run outside the normal Chopped slot as part of the rotating specials (FNS, Worst Cooks, Rachel vs Guy, etc) so it will probably take one of those slots on Sundays or Mondays.
  15. It wasn't a bad episode (especially for season 1) but it was pretty heavy handed.
  16. They didn't lay the groundwork last season because they had absolutely no idea what they were going to do this year. The old show runner left after season but before doing so left a lot of "where's that going stuff (Lexi aging, curing eye worms, Anne sleeping almost 24/7) but hadabsolutely know idea where any of that was going. All that got dumped on the new showrunner (who's the guy responsible for the Bionic Woman reboot disaster), who promptly ignored and did whatever the fuck he wanted. I get wanting to take a show in a new direction, but this is almost a completely different show.
  17. Was I the only thinking this when Tom barreled in on his bike?
  18. Questions was good. Wasn't a huge fan of Huntress. I liked Wildcat and Black Canary ok.
  19. I like Ina too (she does the Hamptons thing without being too pretentious unlike Zakarian) but I was just responding to the comment she hasn't/wouldn't be a guest on this trainwreck. I actually like seeing her on something like this because it's a contrast that makes some of the fools look even worse. I was sorry to hear Thanksgiving Live will just be Bobby Flay this year. Watching Ina have to deal with Girls Gone Wild Giada was some funny shit.
  20. Actually, Ina has been a guest judge on this show a couple of times.
  21. Booster Gold, Hawk, Dove and Mr. Terrific were pretty much made of fail, but I liked Vigilante, Vixen and Captain Atom.
  22. I understand there are blindsides every season, I was just commenting how surprised I am there are so many because Jeff's always spilling the beans at TC.
