The Annual Academy Awards - General Discussion

I'll probably skip the red carpet, but I'll definitely be here for the main show.

I thought ScarJo was an inspired choice for the open, and she totally nailed it. That bit worked way better than it had any right to. Also loved WU with no "guests". Josh Brolin threw himself into everything and the whole cast seemed to be having fun. I didn't dislike the show - it was fine. Kinda like the season... fine.

Wow - Mrs. Jost as scary Senator Britt. Nicely done show.

I have 298 at the moment. I kept them in the office because I wasn't allowed to have them at home (!!). However, now Mr. ebk has no choice but to let them in. So there! I love the Mr. Met in the London phone booth!! But, it's in May and I try not to visit NYC in the spring and fall because the hotels are soooooo much more expensive. This year, we will be there in early April because there's a play I must see and it's only running through May, but usually we come up in dead summer and dead winter. If anyone wants to get me a Mr. Met in the phone booth, I'd be really happy 😄

I have not seen it. It's another show that doesn't really peak my interest. If someone gave me free tickets, I'd think about it, but there are other shows I'm more interested in. I'm looking forward to your thoughts about it.

I realize I should probably put this in the Chit-Chat or work related thread, but I feel the need to tell you all that I'm retiring at the end of the month and today, I started packing up the 'heads. My lord, they're dusty... This will take me the rest of the month and I'm dreading it. Not the retiring part, the packing part.

Chicago is fabulous!! I really enjoyed Shucked - hope you do, too! As for the others, I've seen them all (except Life of Pi which I have no interest in) and love them and could watch them over and over again - and did since they were all at my theatre at one time or another. I hope you enjoy whatever you decide to see from that list.

S49.E13: Sydney Sweeney / Kacey Musgraves
ebk57 replied to Galileo908's topic in Saturday Night Live
I do think it's funny that folks are pointing out that Kacey performed barefoot last night when it was a few years ago that she performed totally naked - except for boots. This time she remembered the clothes and forgot the shoes 😉 -

Um, thanks. I don't know who he is either. Off to the Google machine... -

If only it had been Glen Campbell I might have know who he was... The show wasn't terrible. I did hate the opening and PDD did not work for me. And Heidi on WU was awful. But the rest wasn't terrible. -

What New Foods Have You Tried?: Like It? Hate It? Share Here!

I must have my daily Noosa honey yogurt! I love the lemon and one day picked up the honey accidently (almost the same color container) and was sure it would be too sweet. However - it's not! It's the best!! Lately, it seems to be harder to find around here so I hope they're not discontinuing it. Still love the lemon, and the vanilla, and the peach. It's the best yogurt!! -

There's a post about it in the Site Business forum in the Announcements thread. -
Got the Broadway at the National email today. I may see Kimberly Akimbo and possibly Shucked (again-really liked it when we saw it last year). And then again, I may just stay home. We'll see. I've been enjoying the Broadway Center Stage series at the Kennedy Center. Not sure what's up for next season, although I guess it's still early for that since we still have 2 more shows from this season to see.

Thanks @Galileo908for watching so I don't have to. I definitely made the correct decision by continuing to watch Funny Girl on TCM.

I don't really know her work, but my friend who's going with us really wants to see the play, so we are keeping the tickets and seeing the play. I do love Liev, but I was really looking forward to Tyne. I'm sure it will still be worthwhile. We also have tickets to Uncle Vanya with a whole bunch of really great stage actors and Steve Carrell (I'm sure he'll be lovely). The real reason we're going during high-hotel-price season is to see the new Paula Vogel play with Jessica Lange. Quite looking forward to that!

Wow indeed. Did not see that coming at all. It would be epic if he actually accepted the deal. Epic.

Health and Wellness Chit-Chat: Your Primary Care Topic

@Bastet, Mr. ebk has a recliner that has served him well for his gallbladder removal, and his 2 knee replacements. It's a basic La-Z-Boy with the remote and it's great. I hope your recovery is smooth - all the best!! -
Health and Wellness Chit-Chat: Your Primary Care Topic

I wore the gas permeables for 55 years (and glasses for 5 years before that). I just had cataract surgery in December, which I knew would clear up my vision. What I didn't know is that my vision was also corrected and I only need reading/computer glasses now. It's all so weird, I may need therapy 😉 All that to say I have a pack of Boston II solution from Costco (2 bottles of conditioning solution and 1 of cleaning) and I think an extra bottle of conditioning. Would you like me to send them to you? No one I know wears GP lenses and I don't know what to do with the leftover stuff! Feel free to PM me if you'd like.
