I really don't understand (and really hate, but decided I'd put this here) the Ally Bank series of commercials, particularly the hitchhiker and the beekeeper ones. (Okay, those are the only two I remember right now, but I think there's at least one more). How are those supposed to make me want to bank with Ally? What do they have to do with banking at all? And they're just totally unpleasant. Blech.

One of my PBS stations is showing the 1979 Tom Waits show this weekend. If they are showing it in your neck o' the woods, you should watch!

Listening to the top-of-the-hour news on CBS radio, I noticed last week that they now sign off from the newscast not with "you're listening to CBS radio news", but with "you're listening to REAL news from CBS radio news." Oy vey - sad that it's come to that...

I mostly enjoyed the show. I love Jennifer Lawrence and Leslie Jones. I liked the drinks served for each of them. I thought Kelly Clarkson's number from the Hamilton Mixtape was wonderful. Still trying to decide whether to buy the album. The Closer Look segment was fine. I wasn't fond of the Ahnold piece. In fact, I didn't even recognize him and couldn't figure out what was going on for a moment. I admit that the show was mostly on as background noise, but I did actually pay attention to some of it. It was way better than most of the stuff that's on on NYE. Did I hear Seth and Jennifer say something about it was okay to drink on the show on NYE and not on a random Monday afternoon? I had the thought that they taped the show last Monday afternoon...

I am enjoying a Gloria Ferrer Royal Cuvee Brut 2002. I don't have chips, but I do have Blue Diamond Almonds (which are like crack to me!) Happy New Year everyone!

I think there will be one at some point. I finally listened to the Off-Broadway recording today, since I have tickets for the show in February. Admittedly, I was at work so couldn't pay really close attention, but lots of it sounded the same. Like a lot of Russian music just going on and on... I need to study up before I get there.

Maybe that was it - possibly not that old, just...a bit larger. Ringo looks great! Doesn't Don Henley always look unhappy? Colbert doing air guitar at the end was fun.

Love that Linda Ronstadt did the film narration. It's too bad she couldn't be there. And when did Vince Gill get so...old? (And I ask that as an old person)

JKF's grandson (sorry, already forgot his name) is definitely a Kennedy. And Cynthia Erivo is magnificent!

Loved Obama and Gayle (I think it was Gayle) singing along. The James Taylor tribute was lovely. Bill Clinton on script, and Yo Yo Ma, who seems to be the most decent person ever. And there was a commercial for Bette in Hello Dolly! I guess this would be the show to advertise on. And here comes Mavis! I love Mavis!!

I'm a wineaux. I also love beer. Not a huge liquor fan, but I had a lovely pomegranate mojito at The Top of The Mark last summer. The view may have helped my enjoyment of the cocktail. Just came back from a lovely Christmas evening with family/friends. I had some wine there, but didn't want to open a bottle when I got home since it was after 10 (although I'm not sure why...), so I'm enjoying a glass of amaretto. I really must remember that I've got a few bottles of liqueur in the cabinet. L'Chaim!!

I'd like to echo all the good wishes posted here. I don't post too often as my command of the written word is sketchy... but I'm quite sure I wouldn't have made it through these trying times without the graciousness, passion and intelligence of everyone here. So last night, I bought tickets to see The Great Comet and Sunday in the Park for our Washington's Birthday weekend visit. I'm thrilled. And pretty broke.

FYI, Alpha House has been cancelled. Trudeau still doesn't seem to want to go back to daily comics.

I hope I'm not repeating something that's been posted recently (yes, I've read the entire thread, but ... wine ... ), but the Gatorade commercials with the sorta takeoff of Let's Call the Whole Thing Off enrage me. Truly. I'd throw something at the TV, but I don't want to break the TV and I don't have anything except a wineglass (or my laptop) nearby. And I'd miss all of those things.

Okay, I'm a little embarrassed that I thought this was a question about whether the show should stick to one topic or cover several. And I thought - wait, it already covers several. I love wine...

The venue itself makes it worth going. I wish it was happening in February.

I've got tickets to see this again in February. Now I'm looking forward to it even more. As for your concert question, if you're going to the concert especially to see that one person and he/she drops out, I would hope you could get a refund if you wanted one.
