I have, but I guess no one else has! I should've re-watched the finale from last season just to remind me what was going on.

Lizzo’s stint as host reminded me of Adele’s. Not professional comedians or actors, but you could sense the joy they had doing the show. I don’t usually like when a sketch member breaks, but Lizzo’s breaks were adorable. A couple of weird cultural reference points. The Black Eyed Peas song? The Six Flags guy? How old are their writers? The past couple of episodes, Andrew Dismukes has been delivering some lines in a very Mulaney way. Maybe he always did and I never noticed it before.

I think they worked towards that a LITTLE, with her speech for the funding that was heartfelt.

I know this just came out, but I'm surprised there are NO comments on any of the episodes yet! I binged it in one day and was really amused by it, though I don't know why Catherine Tate had to play so many of the roles.

S47.E17: Jake Gyllenhaal / Camila Cabello

I’m surprised to see the relatively positive responses to this episode. I thought it was one of the worst this season, especially considering the fantastic host they had at their disposal. WU for the win, but almost everything else was a miss for me. I laughed more at Jake’s cameo in Mulaney’s Airport Sushi sketch than I did in this whole episode. -
I don't even know what's going on anymore. That's really all I have to say about this season.

I hope not, because I'm probably in big trouble if so. But I suspect it might be!

"I consider myself a Gen X preemie" and the concept of "wake apnea" were the standouts in a really good episode.

I wonder if people’s reaction would’ve been different if Jada had walked up there herself and slapped Chris Rock. -
I just don’t know about this season. I kind of want to just see a series about Konstantin mentoring the odd morgue worker girl.

Amy did a great job. Her coming out after the incident and saying something along the lines of “I was getting out of my Spider-Man suit...did I miss anything? The vibe just seems different...” was, to me, a pitch perfect way to address it. -

Only 30 minutes? -
Kudos to the editors and camera people for their work during that challenge. The use of slow motion and close-ups during their struggle was epic. And Jonathan THROWING people through the water was amazing.

Our Flag Means Death - General Discussion
SHD replied to BetterButter's topic in Our Flag Means Death
I like this show, but I want to like it more. Sometimes it's exactly what I'm looking for, but not consistently. But I am enjoying it! It definitely took a direction in the second set of three episodes that I wasn't expecting! -
Why did they pretend they hurt themselves in regards to the fake blood? Clearly a lie once they get back to camp and have no cuts. Why not just say "We had to crawl through pits of mud and this red slop to get to the paddles"?!
-
Exactly what I thought! I kept saying “Is this where she jumps in despair?!” That truly would make it the most dramatic season EVER.
-
I just binged the whole series this weekend and this episode was by far the most entertaining for me. The Hamilton-esque rap was great and 'Yeah, Sure, Whatever" was a power-pop pastiche worthy of Adam Schlesinger.

After watching Oscar Isaac host, all I kept thinking was that I wish he would’ve played Ricky in that Being the Ricardos movie. He just disappears into whatever role he’s playing. It’s pretty tough following a Mulaney-hosted episode, but I thought this one was OK.

S47.E13: John Mulaney / LCD Soundsystem
SHD replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
I would disagree about the musical sketches diminishing as they go along. Airport Sushi was one of my favorites. They definitely vary in success, for sure, though I don’t dislike any of them. I do agree about the Cha Cha Slide do-over. It didn’t really need to exist but I do love watching John Mulaney do the ridiculous line dance motions. -

I love John Mulaney and he’s probably my favorite host. I was smiling throughout and I always adore the musical sketches. -
I can't help but think of Rachel Harris every time I see Christine!

It's boring when, in the multi-game finals, one person is so far ahead by the second FJ that there's nothing the others can do to catch up.

Am I crazy or was Ken introduced as “And now hosting Jeopardy...” while Mayim is now introduced as “The host of Jeopardy”?
