Thank you, everyone who answered! Have not seen that one but knew the other allusion to it ("I'll have what he's having") because who doesn't?

I couldn't even think of a rom-com that used that fourth wall device (though I admittedly am not a huge rom-com fan, I recognized all the others). The closest I could think of was when Sex and the City used to do that early in the first season. But that's a longshot. Did Bridget Jones or some other really popular rom-com that I somehow missed use that fourth wall device?

Ditto. I mean, other than kind of remembering the writer character and the couple that lost a child, this is like watching a whole new story to me. The plot didn't stick with me because it was probably one of my least favorite Moriarty books.

I agree. It's one of the things I loved about Extras. Ricky Gervais' character's best friend was Maggie, and they never hinted that they had a past dating history or ever wanted there to be one in the future. They were just good friends. And I believe the other photo was Marcus Mumford, who contributes to the music of the show. (Could be wrong about that, though.)

I absolutely thought that's what was going on. It's not like it was a fancy restaurant where they would hold the best table in case a famous or wealthy person came in. It just seemed like a little neighborhood place.

I guess I’m the only one who enjoyed David Spade hosting? I love his “This is so stupid” underlying attitude. I wish they would’ve gotten Amy Schumer to guest host. She would’ve brought the same tone as David Spade, but from a female perspective.

It seems that way to me too, but I think it's not smart to do that until all the Daily Doubles are used. Especially iffy to do that in the first round when there's so much money to be earned in the second round. Matt got up to third highest earner pretty fast, but he has a loooong way to go to surpass second place.

It’s not just you.

S08.E01: The Good Ones / S08.E02: The Lake House

I won’t get the words exactly right, but this bit made me laugh out loud: Terry: I haven’t done cardio in years, but how bad could it be? *runs 10 feet* Terry: It’s immediately awful! -
I thought this one was the most well done so far. The series in general lacks the originality of shows like Black Mirror or Inside No. 9, but it told its story well and the acting wasn't over the top. And it's always nice to see Cody Fern!

I don’t know...I thought Joe Buck was kind of funny today. Maybe it’s some kind of Stockholm Syndrome situation.

I absolutely believe this is a possibility. And he still dominated, even without much help from DDs. The first only got him something like 2200 and he broke even on the two in the second round.

This is brilliant. And correct. This show understands and embraces its stupidity, which I admire. It makes me wish Nikki Glaser had taken over the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise after Chris Harrison left. Her or Amy Schumer (who would've also made a good host for this show).

If true, that would speak volumes about his character. I'm also wondering how much of his large bets on FJ when it's a runaway have to do with wanting as much money as possible and how much is him wanting to try to get as much as he can for the charity.

I definitely thought something was off with the girl at the clinic, but I never guessed the two twists. I really liked this one - probably my favorite so far. I was expecting a Rosemary's Baby type thing and was pleased it went a different route.
-
But some of his wins were not runaways and he seems to get lucky getting Daily Doubles and betting big. Some day he may not get those DD or he may bet big and lose and that could shift the fortunes.
-
Levar Burton sure lucked out on being on this week in regards to money for his charity. Today’s total may have beat out some other guest hosts’ entire weekly charity total.
-
Awww...I was actually kind of rooting for the contestant this week. He did a good job on his own in the last round.

And I laughed when, after Robin explained it and the champ went to pick the first clue of the game, he said "Not that one" referring to that category. LOL

S01.E01: Rubber (Wo)man/S01.E02: Rubber Wo(man) Part 2
SHD replied to TexasGal's topic in American Horror Stories
I liked the callbacks to the OG Murder House season. The humor in the second part made it more enjoyable for me. And I’d be A-OK with Ryan Murphy trading out Paris Jackson for Emma Roberts in his projects. -
I also said stapler! I thought it was a decent guess, having been the victim of that spring action when trying to load staples!

I'm declaring this not a bad guess at all! It didn't occur to me, but it makes sense!

There was a local art fair awhile back and the website had little bios of the artists contributing. The title of the bios section was "Meet Your Maker". I have no idea if that was an intentionally dark bit of humor or if they just didn't think about it, but it made me laugh.

We are the same person! I thought the same until I realized I was looking at the negative spaces on the print and they were just really giant flowers!
