First time I’ve liked and rooted for the contestants and such a bad outcome. Apollo might be the first player who was just the right amount of enthusiastic and showed appropriate reactions. I wish non-celeb contestants were more like him. I might root for them more.

I don't recall what day it was on, but there was a Rhyme Time category and the clue said something like "An unoriginal body of water" and I thought for sure the answer was Fake Lake but what they wanted was Banal Canal. I wonder if my guess would've been acceptable or if there was some nuance in the clue that I missed (or possibly just a misreading of the clue) that would've made my answer incorrect.

I think it says more about how they choose their contestants and how they make them act. They must instruct them to act like sugar-fueled 5 year olds and scream and fall around like that. I've never met a person in real life who displays that kind of energy naturally. It's annoying.

I know it's a deliberate set of rules, but I hate that the team has to evenly split the combined total. I know they want to make it a team effort show, but why can't they just be a team working towards each winning what they individually brought to the pot? They would still have to work together. I just think it's unfair that the woman who brought the least amount of money to the pot and who (I think) got the fewest final questions right (and got at least one wrong) gets the same amount of money as the guys who killed it in their rounds. That makes me root for the chaser, even though I liked two of the three contestants.

That always stands out to me, but feel like it’s more sympathetic sounding that a harsh “No” or a dismissive sounding “Nope!” I AM waiting for a contestant to counter with a “Yes?” in response, though. LOL

Absolutely. All they had to do was to give this joke to Che to direct AT Jost, and it would’ve been at least 50% funnier.

I didn’t like either. At least I understood the premise of the tour guide sketch. I wasn’t even sure what they were going for in the wedding sketch, but that could just be me not getting it.
-
Dan Levy A+ Material B- or C+ How did that wedding sketch make it to air? Was anyone else afraid that Phoebe’s sparking guitar or monitor was going to start a fire?

My friends and I made up the word “dumbpressed” for things that stunned and impressed us. Also fits the category!

I think that’s what this forum is for, maybe? LOL

Not necessarily disappointed but I thought we’d maybe see Fallon, Seth Meyers, or John Mulaney (because they make the trip to the building anyway).
-
Maybe my favorite recurring thing the show does. Always gold.
-
No! But I admit I only know of it because the guys behind it were guests on Colbert’s show about 5 years ago.

This is a really lovely view for a non-fan to take. It’s great that you can take joy in the joy he brings to others. I never really knew so many people had trouble understanding so much of his singing. Certainly I’m not 100% on his lyrics, though. I’m sure I’ve been singing some incorrect lyrics for 30 years, same with Elvis Costello songs. And I kind of don’t care - ha ha.

S46.E07: Jason Bateman / Morgan Wallen

I love Jason Bateman, but this was kind of disappointing. Some good WU jokes, but that was about it for me. -
Were we supposed to be surprised that Robin is trans? This show’s relationship with Covid is puzzling. It relies so much on current events that they can’t pretend they’re in a world where Covid doesn’t exist, but their choices of when they use masks and when they don’t makes no sense.

The Strokes are what they are, but I wish they at some point would look like they enjoy performing. Kind of a disappointing show on the Mulaney scale.

Wasn’t a spatula one of the three items on the special grocery list that would’ve earned a bonus? I see they updated the old grinding coffee task in the big sweep to waiting for your inept barista to give you your drink. LOL

I got FJ from that Dylan lyric about God talking to Abraham. It doesn’t even relate to the question asked in FJ, but it mentioned a son, so that’s what popped into my head. Ridiculous, really.

S46.E01: Chris Rock / Megan Thee Stallion
SHD replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
Megan Thee Stallion does NOT care about your vertigo. Favorite WU jokes were the White Claw and BET ones. Thought they did a good job under the circumstances!
