  1. In the first episode I think John mentioned something along the lines of that they might just hit their groove as the series was ending, if at all. LOL The show really lives or dies based on the guests. John is great at a lot of things, but hosting 5 guests at once isn't one of them. It would be hard for even the seasoned late night hosts.
  2. This series is so hit or miss. I don’t think anyone had as much fun as Jon Stewart. Him live Googling a Keebler elf to show Mae Martin was the height of this show’s randomness. Most of the guests just seem confused as to why they’re there or what they’re supposed to do.
  3. Which is weird, because even “back in the day” when comedians could say anything, JS had one of the least offensive, cleanest acts. So it’s not like the PC culture directly affects him. Outraged for friends affected, I guess. This week’s show was fair at best but suffered greatly from coming after the excellent Gosling episode.
  4. It seemed like Ike felt kind of bad about winning. I’ll admit, as well as Ike did in CJ, I thought that the other two champs lucked out in that they really only had each other to battle. Shows what I know!
  5. You have a lot more faith than I do. I thought it was terrible. I’m out.
  6. I thought of that, but it seems you could stand off, farther away, at an angle and shoot it so that even if it ricocheted, it wouldn’t come at you. But honestly, I have no idea, so I’ll accept this answer!
  7. When Danvers was locked in the room, why was her first instinct to grab a metal bar and try to bust the glass? She had a gun. Wouldn’t trying to shoot out the glass make more sense?
  8. “You look like you want to speak to my manager.” ”Good luck with the war on drugs.”
  9. I think that sketch sucked all the oxygen out of Jimmy Fallon.
  10. Pretty big spoiler in his monologue joke about Saltburn. What did they do with the Please Don’t Destroy guys?
  11. What was with that wedding singer? He reminded me of the inappropriate wedding singer at the end of The Hangover.
  12. I found Mya and Kristen insufferable in the ABBA bit. Can they do anything and not make it all about them? I loved the joke swap. And Billie Eilish should host at some point. She did really well in the cat ladies sketch.
  13. Was that Chloe Troast in the cold open asking the questions? It looked and sounded like an Alicia Silverstone impression.
  14. Chloe T was outstanding in that sketch. She’ll get all the singing parts Cecily used to get. I get the sense that she grew up a musical theater kid. Since Wonka is a musical, I guess he’s working hard to brand himself as a singer? boygenius was just OK for me. Their refusal to follow conventional capitalization bugs me, but I appreciated their nod to The Beatles in their outfits and drumhead logo.
  15. Yes! The horrible set ups with Frankie G. and company were dreadful. But I will say, the Multiverse really complicated Pt 2 of the final HOH. Contestants know to remember comps/winners/days, etc. but having to remember which of the multiverses each competition was part of really threw them. Neither of them were anywhere near close with their first guesses. Has one of those "remembering" comps ever taken over an hour for the winner?
  16. This was my conclusion, too. Either interpretation makes a good ending, though!
  17. I know I am. But Bowen as Santos saved that sketch for me.
  18. He should’ve hosted THIS time and Bad Bunny should’ve been the musical guest making cameos in sketches. That Mick Jagger appearance sure was surprising.
  19. Then all the viewers under 35 would be all “Who the hell are these people?!” LOL But hey, next show is Foo Fighters, so one for the older folks! (They should’ve also doubled as host/musical guest!)
  20. Melissa was a good sport about being clearly the worst at knowledge and/or the buzzer. I know Celebrity Jeopardy has notoriously easier clues, but Steven and the basketball player were pretty impressive, nonetheless!
  21. I don’t recall if Che was first before, but at least last year he was back to back with Mikey Day. Because I remember thinking “I really wish Tina Fey was still a cast member and came next!”
  22. Wait…you wanted them to be longer? LOL people always say this, do you think they're writing during their time off? A: there was a writer's strike 2: nobody is paying them to write during the season break iii: there is a good chance that anything they do write during the season break won't be topical/relevant once the season hits the air. I don’t think people assume the writers were writing during the strike. But there is the burnout factor when they do too many shows in a row, so I think people assume after having a break that long, they might come back with something special. There’s always that hope, anyway. It can cause PAW-tism.
  23. I like how the mature women who get cut are very “Oh, well…that didn’t work out but it made me see that there’s hope for love…” as opposed to the 25 year olds on the regular show who cry their eyes out and scream “THIS JUST PROVES I’M UNLOVABLE! I WILL NEVER BE HAPPY!”
  24. Who in the world could get that confused about what "A true Daily Double" means? That was hilarious. I couldn't hear what LAW said after she missed one of the power ballad category questions that made Ken go "Whoa" and then laugh. Anyone?
  25. I often think the opening credits (music AND visuals) are the best part of any season.
