My jury deliberated for 5 minutes and came back with a unanimous verdict of "YES!"

I do question that they're putting him (and the celebrity winner) into the Tournament of Champions. I can't imagine either will do well against the powerhouses.

I guessed The Who for Hooligans, which I still insist should be the correct answer. LOL

I’m sorry I have bad recall…who was the guy they were seeking revenge for? I was thinking, “Maybe she should do half as many stabby-stabs and get the hell out of the burning building?!”

S48.E14: Travis Kelce / Kelsea Ballerini
SHD replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
When I saw who the host was, I expected the worst (just because he’s a sports guy, nothing specific to him) so I was pleasantly surprised. It was nice that he name checked his fave SNL era in the monologue, and it showed in his performance. He played that American Girl doll sketch EXACTLY like Will Ferrell would’ve played it. -
“OK, Robert DeNono…” ”Then paint an eggshell blizzard on my wall!”

At this point I think the medic will outlast everyone.

I got one of the answers in the Rappers category and I’m calling that a win for someone my age - LOL.

TDS 3.0: Season Seven Talk
SHD replied to possibilities's topic in The Daily Show With Trevor Noah (2015-2022)
Agree! Reminded me of some classic Stewart/Colbert/Carell pieces. I’m not even that big of a Hasan fan but based on that first show I’d be happy if they gave him the permanent gig (if he wants it). Most of the guest hosts have been fun, but it looked like he felt right at home. -
My take on it is that Jack White is very talented at doing things that I personally don’t like. LOL Is that what he was rambling about? Honestly, like many others have said, he seemed so loopy that I stopped paying attention almost immediately. I was embarrassed for him.

I’ve seen other handlers after the sketches end and have seen them pointing the way or waving someone along but I’d never noticed one physically leading someone by the hand. That was the part that stood out to me. But maybe that’s also common and I’ve just not noticed it before.

I didn’t enjoy Woody’s performance in most sketches. He seemed a little lost, especially during that monologue. After the sub sketch, when they showed the cast members running off to get ready for whatever was next, it looked like someone physically took Woody’s and had to lead him where he needed to go. I thought he did fine in the pre-filmed bits, though. That wasn’t the “official” WU joke swap, was it? Don’t they usually announce it and do several each? I did enjoy WU, except for the guests.

What kind of word has two Xs and no vowels? Did Grimes have another kid?!

I wish the virtual cocktail party hadn’t been one at a time. I would’ve liked to have seen the women trying to steal the iPad from each other. I also wish the rose ceremony screen was on wheels so that he could’ve “walked out” the contestants who left. LOL Why couldn’t Jesse stand there and hand out the roses as Zach made his picks? Making sure he keeps his distance to avoid exposure? So many missed opportunities, producers!

I wish they would’ve made this another prime time thing. This taking up three weeks of regular Jeopardy slots is nonsense. LOL

But not as good. At least not yet.

I also like that even when the game is a runaway at the end, he doesn't SAY that. He may say "___________ has a big lead going into FJ" but he doesn't come right out and state no one else has a chance. I mean, we can all see it and I'm sure the other contestants know it, but it feels kinder not to rub it in. It bugs you when Ken says something empathetic like that? I find it endearing. I know it would make ME feel better if I was the contestant who answered incorrectly.

My guess was WNBA. Also obviously not. LOL

Well, the one guy still named a male author even though the category had been specific - LOL. I liked his "I hope I don't go viral" response. But overall, I've found almost all the contestants this week quite pleasant with no quirks that bothered me. I would've been OK with almost any of them returning.
-
Agree! I got a definite Samberg vibe but couldn't think of who else he reminded me of - you nailed it! A really good cast that was kind of let down by the writing, at least in this initial episode. I'll give it a couple of more tries, but I'm on the fence right now. I was happy to see Gerry Dee, who had a sweet, clever Canadian sitcom I loved.

You're right, but I guess the chasers like the high stakes of it all. But it's not even all that entertaining because mostly they lose quickly with the chaser so close. I could be wrong, but when James was on the original version as a contestant, I don't think he took the high offer!

LOL - When I first read/heard the clue before it was answered, I thought "How is Mott the Hoople shark-related!?" (Shame on me for not realizing it was actually Ian Hunter solo.)
-
My response was "That guy from the HBO show 'Crashing' that no one but me watched!" Also, not acceptable, I imagine. And I feel bad because I really did like that HBO show but I could not come up with a name.

If they did a 2023 remake of Get Smart, I could see Asher Grodman as the new Hymie! LOL
