I really doubt Nacho was involved with the note. We know he couldn't have done it himself. And he wouldn't have a confederate do it; he's been very careful so far to deal with Mike alone. He doesn't want anyone else to find out that he knows Mike. Too dangerous. I'm confident that his blocking Mike's shot was pure coincidence. It's possible Nacho deals with Gus, but I think it's more likely that Gus has people watching the Salamancos, and those people reported back to Gus about Mike, so now Gus is watching Mike too. Gus hates Hector and has his own plans for him, so he doesn't want Mike messing that up. He could just eliminate Mike, but I think he recognizes Mike's skills and thinks he may be able to use him.

No one on the show ever explicitly said that. Though I think Umbelina's said it a few times. ;) Personally, I love the dynamic between Jimmy and Chuck, I think it's fascinating. I watch the show for this relationship; everything else is incidental. Additionally, I don't think it's a lather/rinse/repeat situation, I see slow but clear progression in their dynamic. It's still not clear to me whether Jimmy will evolve into Saul, or whether Saul will be born of some big brotherly bang. And I love that.

I think Kim has decided to end this relationship. I'm pretty sure I saw tears in her eyes when she and Jimmy were in bed tonight.

I would hate to lose Chuck from this show. The brothers' dynamic is the best part!

S02.E01: Monster - Pre-Air Speculation and Live-Chat
Starchild replied to HalcyonDays's topic in Fear The Walking Dead
Because the walkers are still babies! I wonder what this crew will end up calling them. As for needing something to watch, I'll get my zombie fix on Game of Thrones. -
S02.E01: Monster - Pre-Air Speculation and Live-Chat
Starchild replied to HalcyonDays's topic in Fear The Walking Dead
Dropping in to ask how many folks from S1 are coming back for S2. I personally am not, because it's turned out to just be more of the same. We got all these stories on the mother ship, we don't need to see them again. I thought we were going to get something different but the only difference is the same stories are happening on water instead of land. A character I found compelling in S1 might have brought me back, but alas there were none. -
Just a nitpick from the recap: I got the impression he thought about wearing the foil-lined suit but ultimately decided against it, so as not to sound crinkly during the meeting. Just deepens the perception of the sacrifices he's willing to make to screw poor Jimmy.

LOL! ETA: I think it's related to paternalism.

The really annoying thing is her saying MY girls, MY little Chandi, etc. Does anyone else find this extremely condescending? Almost like these women wouldn't exist without Jenner. Really bugs me.

I Shazam'd it, Henna Henna by Bombay Royale

I'm only watching until her socially responsible "friends" (Boylan, etc.) give up on her and walk away from the show. After that it will be just another shallow Kardashian spin-off.

There should be a few around. I can imagine people dying after leaving their babies locked in a room for safety. Then they don't come back and the babies die of dehydration or starvation. They should have found at least one of these scenarios by now. Show is chickening out I guess. This ain't HBO.

She snuck up on me over the years, but Carol evolved into my favourite character. If we lose her I don't know if I can continue the revolving wheel of misery this show is devolving into.

Couple questions: 1) Who were all those guys at the poker game? I got the impression they were supposed to be real people playing themselves. What was the point of a celebrity poker game? To prove Rossi has a bunch of famous friends? 2) What was the implication behind Morgan setting up his desk after staring at Erin's photo? Did he take over her job or something? Or was it just underscoring the parallel between them both being targeted for being part of the FBI? Specifically this unit.
-
Interesting. I've heard that the only way to truly know someone is to work with them, or live with them.
-
I really hope all this maudlin regret Carol appears poised to be going through isn't the writers' way of getting her to the same place That would suck.

It's not like it's only wrong if you get caught, so "in the clear" as far as he got away with it, yes. "In the clear" as far as he didn't actually do anything wrong, definitely not.

Howard may or may not have ulterior motives for having this discussion with Chuck, but man I loved his expression when Chuck asked that. It was like "Seriously, bitch, still with this?"

Yeah, the occasional explicit famewhore in each season was always the most irritating part for me. An entire cast of explicit famewhores? I'm leaning towards skipping it as well. I might check the first episode to see if anyone defies my expectations, but I'm not hopeful.

S10.E03: Mulder And Scully Meet The Were-Monster
Starchild replied to AntiBeeSpray's topic in The X-Files [V]
I did! Best part of the episode, followed closely by every scene with Scully in it. Especially the autopsy. -
I would show watch the Hotel Cortez show starring Liz Taylor forever! If Denis O'Hare doesn't win an Emmy for this, imma riot!

Mycroft didn't die in the books (or at least, it was never said that he did). If Mycroft dies in this series, it's pure Moffat/Gatiss. I'd hate to see it happen, because the interplay between them is always delightful, but M/G have said that this version of Sherlock is young and inexperienced, not a reflection of the man in the stories, but an earlier version who still needs to grow up. One way to effect that growing up is to kill off the older brother he still relies on so much. But I'd hate to see that. I'm not entirely sure I could keep watching. :(
-
What's NOT canon is the animosity between the Holmes brothers. Mycroft doesn't show up very much, but when he does, Sherlock shows nothing but respect for him. I wouldn't go so far as to say there's affection between them (this is Victorian England after all), but Sherlock acknowledges Mycroft's superior intellect and even accepts instruction from him in the science of deduction with absolutely no sign of resentment.

All you people talking about foreshadowing of Mycroft's death can just stop that right now. Please.
