And that was the sad part! The dancing should have been the one thing we had to look forward to. The leads of both Step Up 1 and 2 would have killed these dance scenes (yeah, yeah, I know Jenna Dewan is off to bigger and better things, but the who knows what the other chick is up to! And yeah she's probably in her 30s now, but several of the actors in TPT looked old as hell [looking at you Cassie], so she'd fit in).

Thank you! Even with the bad acting and nonsensical storyline, I thought the dancing would save it for me. But that was bad too! In every dance number no one was in sync, and it was so distracting. That's like group dance 101! And the solos were not as innovative or compelling as they thought. Thanks for sharing that @ursula. I hadn't read the book, so I wasn't aware that they had changed the character and her storyline. I was so confused why she seemed to be doing everything in her power to get kicked out when ballet was supposed to be her life and this school, including the associated company, was her ultimate dream. You said it perfectly, @Jess14, ballet was an afterthought. It made no fucking sense. And if they were going to give her all of these "struggles" (which hard ass eye and neck roll to the team that thought the character had to come from drama; what, did they think us black folks wouldn't be able to relate to someone with a stable family?), at least link those back to the issues she was having with her dancing/fitting in. I really wanted to love this because of the potential for steamy teen drama featuring dance/ballet as a centerpiece, plus a black woman lead, but it was really fucking awful. And not in a so bad it's good way either (and I've watched and enjoyed some really bad TV/movies in my time...).

I don't mind the nitpicking at all (cause I do it ALL the time myself! :-D), but I think it was pretty standard back then for shows to have an extreme lack of continuity and basically no institutional memory. It's been pretty frustrating doing rewatches of my beloved 80s and early 90s TV shows where I've been yelling at the TV screen, "2 episodes ago you did/said x, y, z!" I only rewatched season 4 and 5 of Who's the Boss and there were so many moments when I was like these writers are contradicting themselves.

Except Nelson and Cory are both really, really dumb. Cory has a few more brain cells than Nelson, but not that many more.....

Perfect. We'll start on the 4th.

If Dru and Cane could get on the same page, they'd be a real powerful team. And I'm a bit surprised that Monet kicked him out, given that she admitted to Lorenzo that Cane needs a softer touch to learn and forcing him will only push him further away into some really bad decisions. Tasha should think twice about threatening someone who doesn't have a problem taking out his own fucking kids. Tariq and Monet at the end of the episode:

S13.E03: Ten Ten, Twenty Twenty
luckyroll3 replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
I don't think I could take another episode of Ralph. What a raging dick. Every time he's on screen I just want to kick him in the balls. I have never disliked a husband/partner so intensely. Not even Peter, Apollo, Marc (cause he was on screen about the same amount of time as he was in his marriage to Kenya) or Matt. Drew needs to be careful, because there is no reason for her not to be involved in or know/understand the process of buying the house, other than to ensure that douche of a husband has complete control. From the little I've seen of Ralph, I wouldn't be shocked if Drew's name ends up nowhere on any documents related to the house. And he'll have some gaslighting reason as to why. And when they/their marriage implodes, he won't think twice about kicking her ass out and moving in his Tampa side-piece. I'm shocked to learn that Kenya didn't get a prenup. What in the hell was she thinking? Marc can't be that fire in bed; he's too narcissistic. According to Kandi on her Speak On It youtube series, Kenya and LaToya get along so well because they're basically the same person. That has the potential to be real toxic; the show doesn't need 2 Kenya's (and I generally don't mind Kenya, but fully acknowledge she can be quite a nasty bitch when she's ready). It seems like the 2 of them, but particularly LaToya, will be going after Drew this season and I'm not looking forward to that. -
CT: Professor Kyle killed Colonel Mustard in the crater with a hula hoop! LMAO! And what the hell was the deal with the mustard. That shit was strange. Joseph seemed like a nice guy, but he was annoying as fuck. If his pilates in the middle of the kitchen and his performance at the deliberation are any indication of his need for attention, he'll be back in future seasons. I'm shocked Josh didn't start crying when Kyle stole Kam. Good on Kyle for making a big play and smart move to gain insight into what that alliance is doing. Also, did he have to show a house to prospective buyers after his talking head interviews? Cause that off-white turtleneck and jacket combo was a bit much. Nam is hot!!!! I was kid of annoyed that all the interstitials have been replaced by every single person working out (like when the heck did that happen? Usually there are just the 6-7 people who workout all the time while everyone else is up to shenanigans. last night it looked like everyone was working out at some point yesterday), but I would totally be okay with more shirtless Nam talking about going to take a shower. Lol! Exactly. He lost to Kyle! He is so full of shit. And this was definitely his opportunity to earn a skull and he missed out. TJ is at the point where he's about to scream, "what don't y'all fucking idiots get about there only being 10 skulls!" I wish they had thought up something for the rogue agent to do instead of just standing there and watching everything take place. Some kind or subterfuge. Like what if CT could prevent people from getting more ice blocks or was a human shield for someone's tower thing so that if people wanted to get Wes' team out first, they had to battle CT in order to deposit their tube. I don't know; I'm just looking for something a bit more creative that, you can't compete or vote. They are totally fucking around. I had to resort to other means to rewatch the episode.

I've only watched 2 episodes so far, so you can let me know if you want to jump right in or wait for a bit. I'm fine with either and have no other TV committments currently. 😁

Lol! I thought about reaching out to you directly, but I figured you were still in the middle of your One Tree Hill rewatch.

Now airing on Netflix. Who's up for a rewatch?

Heads up that Inferno II and The Duel were just added to Netflix.

S13.E02: New Peach in the Orchard

Almost everyone gained weight during the past year. I don't know if it's fair to fault someone who struggled with staying in shape with not being able to maintain it when the world's falling apart. -
I'm still chuckling at Tariq telling them they look like 2 raw chicken cutlets! Why is Malcolm always in NY when he goest to school in DC? He wants to be a politician, right? He does know that only white politicians are allowed to have shitty grades. Professor Jabari is really creepy...with everybody. I'm surprised he hasn't been reported by someone yet. And then he accuses Carrie of doing something that he himself is doing, with no proof. He saw condoms and SportsCenter; not sure how that equals student. Unlike Carrie seeing and hearing him with his actual student. At least Carrie doesn't teach or mentor the one she's screwing. And declaring, just because, that he's now Tariq's advisor - I don't think that's how that works. I'm glad Carrie was able to turn it around on his creepy ass. And no one cares about your tears! Also can't wait till everyone learns he's ripping off a freshman. He's not even being smart about it. I bet he's not even paraphrasing or rewriting. I'm surprised they revealed Riley's relationship to Saxe so soon. I thought for sure that there'd be multiple episodes of Tariq trying to convince Brayden that something wasn't right with her. The whole storyline with Monet was kinda not believable. This is someone their family has been working with forever, who they have a decent working relationship. By all accounts on the show, EVERYONE know Monet is not one to be fucked with (because she's badass, because Cane is a psycho, because Lorenzo is the big badass psycho). So all of a sudden, this dude decides to piss her off simply because Cane isn't there or she doesn't want the whole shipment? They know the family is good for it. Makes no sense.

Seems like a spot on analysis. Can you please show him the scenes of Big T's drunken shenanigans and subsequent toe injury, including her horror at "fresh cotton pads!" and needing her heels to go to the hospital (still cracking up over that whole thing! Lol!) and report back on his thoughts?

That's where I thought this was going when I heard the theme. Or even keeping the pairs and tapping a couple of players to sow tension and spread misinformation, and maybe even some incentive for them to not get found out/caught so they'd have to get creative about their sabotage. But I forgot that that the producers aren't really that creative... I was already laughing hard when I saw the shoe hit Wes in the face and him fall to the ground. But I fell off the couch and couldn't breathe when the camera cut to TJ absolutely losing it!

That intro was very interesting. Will TJ be modeling the latest in spy wear at the beginning of each episode this season? Lolo's charge up that mound was amazing. The other ladies didn't stand a chance! I'm also shocked that no one ran to scoop her up as a partner; however, her and Nam look like they will be a pretty powerful. If she can keep her crazy relatively in check, they could be a team to reckon with. I loved seeing Aneesa taking this first win! She's taken a lot of shit recently with folks thinking she's useless. Speaking of, CT did Kam real dirty by running away like that. I was surprised he would take Ashley over her, especially considering how volatile Ashley can be. Honestly all of the pairings were interesting and I would love to hear the thought process of why some people chose who they did. Kinda mad Kam got stuck with Josh though, because that means I can't cheer for her. Hopefully she'll get the chance to kick him to the curb later on in the season. There are so many new rules to the game play, but I think they're all good additions. For a second there, I thought Teej was going to put CT and Wes together as a team and then everyone else would have been totally fucked. But I do like that only the person competing in the crater gets the skull and gets to decide on their partner going forward. It really makes the partnerships unstable because unless you and your partner are truly upfront with each other, you could be blindsided at any moment. I also really love the secret, individual votes. It was way too easy for people's votes to be manipulated when they had to do it in the large group setting. And giving the "double agents" the knowledge of who voted for who is gonna lead to a lot of drama. I don't believe for a second that Fessy will keep that info to himself for long. Corey and Nelson: We're not the new bucks anymore!! We're the old bucks Me: Old bucks, new teeth!

I agree! Lolo is batshit crazy and a beast. I'm so here for ALL her shenanigans.
-
Lol! I totally could have gotten that wrong. I always remember numbers incorrectly! Yes. And Dad too!
-
She's a classic gaslighter. She manipulates people while she pretends she's not and they are the ones who are crazy if they interpret her "chillness" and "friendly flirting" as something else.

I didn't realize that this was basically a full-on episode! I'm glad I got bored last night and decided to watch it or I would have been very lost tonight watching the so-called premier. I wonder how much of this will be edited into tonight's episode? I totally did a hearty laugh at that one. And when did being on Big Brother signify that you have a large IQ? Also, Kaycee claiming she's not a sneaky person while also planning to spy on everyone by "charming" them into thinking she's cool. I can't stand her. And I don't know if I can deal with another season of whiny-ass Josh. He's basically an over-sized baby. The new girl from Survivor(?) kept reminding me of Ruthie from RW Hawaii.

I think it's more about control and power. If she doesn't know how he's running his part of the business, then she also doesn't know how much revenue he's actually making/how profitable his technique is. He could easily (and is) making more money than he lets on and it eventually could be so much that he could go around her as his supplier. For Tariq, keeping the process to himself ensures that they have to rely on his method and its relative profitably, and prevents them from stealing his idea and doing it themselves, thereby cutting him out. I have a feeling that the Dad probably arranged the whole thing. It wasn't lost on me what Ramirez said about them ALL working for him. The Dad probably planted Ramirez and allowed him to get close to Monet so that he had an extra set of eyes on her. And as long as Ramirez is fucking her, he doesn't have to worry about any randoms hanging around his wife and kids. The dad strikes me as someone who likes to control every aspect of every single situation, even when he's in jail for 75 years (yeesh! what body did they catch him standing over???) I really love Braydon (despite this being the first time I've actually remembered his damn name; probably because it was said 426 times this episode). He knows how to talk to people and how to read them. Although, he totally shouldn't have told Cane that he lost the payment....that bit was idiotic.

S13.E01: No Justice, No Peace
luckyroll3 replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
It was bad in the sense that the people who should have had her back, particularly her sister and her mom - both of whom she's very close to, didn't. They didn't support Peter or the wedding, leading up to and on the day of. They may not have said anything specific to Cynthia on the day of the wedding, but you could tell that she felt it and at times was second guessing it.
