  1. NJ/NYC Rob/Ro: Once again they show they don't' know HOW to argue. HE is absolutely right that if she had the career or job she wanted, she wouldn't be thinking about FLA. If he's said it in the right way, he might have gotten her to see that. Because it IS that obvious that hat is the case. Adonis/Erika: I dont' have a problem with his jokes about their marriage. That's been a gold mine topic for more comedians than I can count: Phyllis Diller, Henny Young man, Joan Rivers, etc. The problem with Adonis and Erika is HER insecurity (for good reason mind you) and the fact that he didn't want to get married. The therapy they BOTH need to make this work is almost TOO deep to overcome.) CA Realtor Rob and Tara: didn't see much of them this episode. What I did see was him complaining about her pressuring him to spend more time with her family. Why do couples get married, when they're already arguing about basic stuff? Craig and Brandon: One is a child the other an insecure adult. Again, they both have issues…WHY did they get married? To argue like they do? I think it's in the promo, when Brandon says something about not begin pleased with something…and Craig says so are you thinking about divorce. IF there's no tricky editing…WHY did Craig go there…what kind of insecurity is that? Your spouse says something innocuous and you jump to asking if he's talking about divorce? Where did that come from?
  2. I did enjoy the scene of Ken taking Lisa VP to the sex shop. THAT seems very real, that he's talking about opening another plea, and she's like, uh, if anything we should be thinking about NOT working so much…. I loved when he told the dog "don't worry. We'll talk her into it." Exactly what some married people might say. And speaking of that damned dog. I HATE it when people carry their frigging dogs. Let the dog WALK. It has legs for a reason. Geez. I never really thought about it too much….but years ago I heard a dog trainer say its' VERY bad for owners to carry their dogs. And then it dawned on me. You know what I do hate it when they do that.
  3. And if I may pick up on your point…..because we so agree….. And I don't mean "bring it" JUST because of the show, and the cameras and the fake frame we'e seen in the past. (Not that that is what you said Scooby, I'm just picking up on your point) I think she should have said something because this actually WAS a REAL dislike for a REAL REASON. Not producer driven, not a misunderstanding because on the show it's a "she said, but she said" kind of situation. Nor was it an out-of-the-blue-you-don't-even-know-why-she-reacted-that-way Lisa Rinna wine glass toss antic. Which I think was calculated. Kathryn (supposedly) had been as she said "carrying a dagger" for Faye for years -- She meets her…this was the SECOND time, and yet she doesn't say, "can we talk?" Give me a break. I mention it's the second time because maybe I could see, the FIRST time at the bar, being surprised or assessing the situation. 1) That first meeting where Rinna brings up O.J. should have brought back memories and emotions and primed Kathryn -- just emotional in her own self -- so that if she met Faye she'd be ready…2) If I didn't say anything to you the first time, and I'm roiling, the second time I see your ass you can bet I'll want to clear the air. I'm usually VERY good at holding my peace and letting things go, But those kinds of feels that Kathryn was carry for 20 years -- oh, hell no. Time to have her say. Again it can be a private, low-volume clear the air talk….OR it can be an in public, Def-Con 4, I curse you out talk…..which one you get depends on your response. 'Cause like I said…once I tell you where I stand, and release what I have to say, I'm good. That's what I wish had happened with Kathryn. Even if it's the private "I just want you to know" kind of conversation….at least get it off your chest, girl. You say your so tough….Girl, bye.
  4. If Faye didn't want to step to another room, then I think Kathryn should have pursued it right there at the table. Kathryn is the one who had so much to say to Faye…..and then punked out. If Faye didn't want to discuss….Kathryn SHOULD have said…"I guess you don't. You write a book and mentioned me in it, you talked about my marriage -- when I've never met you and you don't know me. You had so much to say then. But now your trifilng bitch ass has nothing to say. I guess you'd better not say anything because I'm already pissed at your ass"…... and turn right to whoever is on her side, and say "pass me the bread, please." Like nothing ever happened. I bet those ladies mouths would have dropped so far open……..I bet you'd see eyes bugged out -- and hear a pin drop and chewing of food and that's it. After all, this wasn't a professional meeting with colleagues. She doesn't' work, so it's not like it would cost her her career or anything. Maybe it's just me….but if you push me to "go there"….. oh, I can get down all right. Forget all that fake throw water in her face shit. I'll curse your ass out, NOT feel bad about, and eat my meal like nothing happened. I'm not going to hold my peace and dance around it. Because one I've had my say and let you know where I stand -- I'm cool. So as far as I'm concerned Kathryn was a punk.
  5. And Kenya is a trifling ass bitch who deserves all the snot she gets. her superior don't come for me, I'm the queen bee goes no where with me. IF Kenya had given me half the attitude she's given some of these ladies and said what she's said in her talking heads, I'd have been in her shit and set her straight a long time ago. Kim's come back to me as as innocuous as, "girl, please." But I sense Kim doesn't want to "go there" because TRYING not to let Kenya push her to that level of response.
  6. 1) I don't know that I'd say he's an ass -- but I sure don't see any extra consideration and thoughtfulness in him either. That's he doesn't seem to be "thoughtful" about anything but his interests. You can tell when a partner "thinks" about the needs of the other spouse and I don't get that from him. 2) Kathryn and Faye: IF I had something so say to Faye, I would have brought it up. But not at the table. I have asked her, " Can't we talk about something? Let's go to another room." And the cameras would have or could have followed. SO I don't care that the cameras were there, I would haven' had the conversation without the other ladies there. I bet Bravo's cutaway would have shown the ladies eye bugging out of their heads as Kathryn and Faye walked away to the other room…like "Oh shit." When you observe but can't tell whether the conversation could pop-off into unpleasant territory. Also, given that Kathryn DID bring it up at the table, When Faye said something like, I don't want to talk about this her, now." I'd have said, "OK, let's go inside for a minute." IMO Kathryn was a p)$$% for not pursuing the conversation. ID she wanted to have it out she shouldn't have. Or why bring it up at all. 3) I believe there was some editing in the scene where LVP asks Kathryn about her age marriage etc. To make it look like a third degree. And that's also the way LVP is edited when she's getting to know someone. She Does NOT know Kathryn, so it's only natural to ask some questions when you meet someone new. It's called getting to know the person. Granted one might not ask THOSE questions right off the bat, but I saw it as a "let's get to know each other chat" -- and Bravo editing it to make it look like LVP grilled Kathryn, when it wasn't like that at all. 4) Yo, Kyle, that was NOT a barbecue. 5) I like Kathryn -- and LOVE me some Erika. Erika because she seems down to earth, and i NOT inserting herself into everyone's drama -- like Lisa RInna..who said to Kathryn "you know what I though about when I heard about you…."O.J." Who the hell would say that?
  7. I love kim on the show and think she's great. I always have thought Kenya was a big fake and fronter. I think Kim, is right to say and think what she did about working with Kenya. Kenya IS a bitch. Who WOULD want to work with her? Kim is right to say she'd never say she WON'T work with someone that the client wants on the project. That's what a professional SHOULD say. It's the client's project. And HAS Kenya directed hundred of hours of TV? I think that "Life Twirls On" pilot project she did was a joke….a BAD one. And why IS Cynthia is pushing to have them both on the project? Is that a producer driven plot suggestion? Kenya's resume has nothing on it that would make meant to hire her to work on anything I'd do….IF I wanted it to be taken seriously.
  8. Me too I loved them, Dad was a hoot. They were much better than the other family of the sisters with their dad on a couch. I don't want anyone dropped from the show -- but IF a weak link needs to be dropped it's them. The heavy set family with two sons in bed was MUCH funnier than the dad and sisters on a sofa. THEY were the weakest link.
  9. I'm wondering WHY did these people get married…lust? Did some live together, or practically live together beforehand? How and why are they so at each other's throats? I do remember only a couple of couples who I thought were mature….Erik and Nadine, and Rouvan and Toi. So far, even the ones that seemed to have some "issues" (except one) are together.
  10. Ro IS IN the fashion business already, granted she's not Anna Wintour's right hand person -- but maybe she should work her day job connections, to climb the ladder that way, become a stylist (while blogging), then branch out more.. Become a stylist….sure there are hundreds of them, but that's not stopping others from testing the waters. Isn't' that what Daisy on Blood Sweat and Heels did/does. Her husband Rob knows a few people in the music biz (maybe not BIIIIG names, but still. Do some stylist work for them maybe. It's not like she's been toiling away for twenty years, and is still no where. Her career is just starting. Sure many people get lucky. But music, media and fashion are three ields where people who are starting out -- also hustle their asses off.
  11. What will War do now that Quincy is dead and he tripped over the body……no doubt, he'll ask for more money from Candace to keep it quiet and get rid of the body….but…..she really doesn't have any money to tie now. Which of course, he won't believe. Thank God the call went out about getting Jeffrey to the police station, right? Whew. That cops's dialog was asinine. So was the Maggie Brandon exchange. just stupid. Yeah, I also cry foul on Little Q having some illness no one knows about. I can't take Qunicy's sister. The ghetto-tude is a bit much. Is Ronnie going to say she was raped, and it wasn't consentual? She said something to David like, "You don't' believe me?" Unless she's just going to say, "it didn't mean anything." I don't even care enough to comment on Kathryn and Ronnie's -- and David's and Jim's -- jail cell conversations. Weak and stupid. Like the rest of this show. Oh yeah….how about Wyatt drunk in the house…waiting for his "company" to come over……I have no more words. ETA: oh, three more words: "Benny is stupid."
  12. I know. That was shocking to me. I'm amazed (but shouldn't be) that sooo many people don't know how to be supportive, or HOW to argue. I think there was some editing of the Brandon and Craig conversations. I HOPE the editing sort of morphed two issues into one….I'm very big on keeping different issues separate. Craig not cleaning the house, has nothing to do with the money issue. Do none of these people know anything about conflict resolution! (especially with the person who supposedly love!)
  13. She didn't. He said he knew she had it when they were dating. But he didn't expect it to be that much of an issue. The scene (in the last show I think) where she's getting ready to go to bead and has to go through her routine, he clearly says he knew about her OCD, and anxiety issues. But he thought it was a quirk he could get used to, didn't think it'd bother him too much. He knew she could have an issue flying, but hoped she wouldn't, and clearly didn't expect her to really have enough of an issue with their trip. I keep saying to myself….Adonis' teeth HAVE to be his real teeth, but they can't be his real teeth, but they have to be…because no veneer job (which costs thousands, right?) could be that bad! Don't they 'fit you for veneers, let you see what they'll look like before they put them on permanently, there's no way I'd have signed off on my teeth looking like that. Plus his voice always sounds like his nose is stuffed up. Not whiny-nasal….but like he's got a sinus issue. Like he can't breathe through his nose. I know a couple of men who don't like their wives OVERLY made up. It's mostly when it's on too heavy that they might comment. Other than that they just don't go for the "clown" look. So it's not just the wearing of makeup that the red flag for Erika and Adonis….it's the butt and weight comments too…. Some couples apparently joke about stuff like that. Personally I don't think it's funny. But if the woman doesn't set him straight on things like that -- that's on her. As for Rob and Ro….Rob should be a little more careful about HOW he argues. No, he didn't NOT say she'd never be a success or find a career in what she really wants to to. But to tell his wife she can't work in fashion journalism because she didn't go to J-school. is low. SO I can see why she emotionally went there. He wasn't being encouraging AT ALL. One CAN point out obstacles/challenges -- and STILL BE supportive. The gay couple …why to me …are they just like last seasons gay couple. One younger one older, one in entertainment and seems slightly) -- the other more staid….. How is it possible that these couple have all these arguments?……didn't they date these people beforehand? Heck, they also sort of lived together so I don't get why all these issues. Are relationships THIS much work? Good grief. I love how Rob expected Ro to do the cooking and meal prep…..I love Ro, 'cause she wasn't having it!
  14. I see. IMO still a strange question to ask, and expect someone to REALLY answer honestly on a TV show. I know part of the conversation was about how some of them are sharing more personal things than others…..But how "deep" did they expect Lisa to get hen they were all sitting about shooting the shit, and then it got all serious. Part of the reason a lot of talk focuses on Kyle/Kim….is because it's out there already…and SHE never SHUTS IT DOWN - PERIOD. And quite honestly the other people DON'T have anything thing like that going on right now.
  15. As for going deep or sharing from deep emotional issue with the group….. One of the ladies asked 'what keeps you up at night." Well a person could be concerned about or dealing with any number of things -- that don't "keep them up at night." For example, Erika has said she DOES INDEED worry about her son being a police officer (as any parent might) -- however that doesn't mean it "keeps her up at night." Perhaps Lisa VP didn't have anything to respond with -- because NOTHING DOES keep her up at night." And I believe she said as much in one of her talking heads. It's certainly true we don't' know anything for sure about what goes on behind closed doors -- BUT, from the outside, NONE of them should have anything that "keeps them up at night."
  16. I just have to say, I can't believe how thin Lisa Rinna is. I want to be thin like she is. Some may consider her "too thin," but off the top of my head of ALL the housewives she's got the body I'd want.
  17. I don't' think anyone said it was. Nor do I think Lauren has said she doesn't want to work at all. But each woman and pregnancy is different and pregnant women DO ask for light duty as all kinds of jobs and companies. Sometimes it's granted sometimes it isn't. it depends on the company and whether an employer wants to get into a possible legal fight. Why can't Porsha hires help for Lauren, or let Lauren work from home? Because Porsha is selfish, and doesn't' appreciate how tiring being pregnant can be for some women. The problem with Porsha and Lauren is the Porsha is to DUMB to realize all that Lauren does to keep Porsha's brand going. And I don't' think missing one package is the end of the world. People do worse at work every day and don't get fired. So Porsha needs to NOT act like that was the end of the world. (And with most packages, I think there are multiple delivery attempts.) That said, I DO think what Porsha does is "work." The constant 'hustle" that many "celebrities" do can be exhausting. Constantly being "on" can be draining. Imagine having to ALWAYS be on, ALWAYS having full make up and hair done, ALWAYS be surrounded by people pulling and tugging on you, telling you go this way, do that. Long days of filming or recording or rehearsals. That 's why some celebrities break down from exhaustion. Plenty of celebrities have melting down from their schedule alone. So I DO think what Porsha does is work. I just don't' think she appreciates the what Lauren does is JUST AS MUCH work., just a different kind of work. While Porsha is getting her hair done, Lauren is on phone calls. While Porsha is filming, Lauren is handling logistics for an appearance. It's Porsha who I don't think has the a understanding of all Lauren does, NOT the other way around. And IF Porsha showed that she gets the Lauren IS equal in keeping the train going I think that's what Lauren would appreciate. And yes as DUMB as Porsha is -- she DOES need a family member to handle her business. I could she shelters from a mile around taking advantage of her stupid ass. She could end up as broke as MC Hammer! She better give Lauren the help she needs, If she knows what's good for her. But we all know she's to stupid to get all that. ETA: I do think it is cold for Porsha to fly first class and have Lauren in coach. Sure she's your assistance, but she IS your sister. WHy NOT have her sit with you in first class? Everything celebs do and pay for it a tax right or or biz expense anyway So just let her sit with you? I don't think Lauren IS asking for everything Porsha has. But if P is in first class and L is squeezed in coach. I think that's deep. Although I must wonder, WHO made those travel arrangements in the first place. Lord knows I can't imagine it was nitwit Porsha. If I got on a plane and went to first class and my sister went back to coach I'd wonder, "Why aren't you up here with me? You should be up here with me" And if a promoter would only pay for my first class ticket then certainly I could pay for my sister's ticket. Damn Porsha, it's an expense. Just write it off for goodness sake. But do we know -- did Lauren put herself in coach or did Porsha say, "Oh, YOU fly coach."
  18. To be honest I really can't see how Kenya's mom (and her family) MIGHT have thought or expected this interfamily "arrangement" to work out -- and NOT eventually come to something like this…..ESPECIALLY if Lori was going to have a relationship with Kenya. It's one thing for Patricia's mom (Kenya's maternal grandmother) to say "OK the boy's family is begging to take the baby so let them have her." Let's face it, Patricia mom, Kenya's GRANDMOTHER was likely the one making the real decisions back then. BUT -- this was NOT a formal, closed adoption…. hell it wasn't even really an adoption at all. They just let Kenya's dad's mother raise her, because she pleaded for her grand baby, not wanting her adopted out of the family, and gone possibly forever. HOW, the mother (Patricia) or the mothers' side of the family ever thought Kenya wouldn't know who she is or'come back' -- ESPECIALLY having a relationship with Lori, her aunt -- her mom's sister -- I can't figure out. It sounds like the mom never wanted Kenya to even know who or where she was. But how was that ever going to happen if she knew who Lori was? DUH! If she knows who her aunt is….then clearly she would know who her mother's side relatives are, and know who her mom is. AND the father's side also never HID who the mom was. Now, if it 's true that the mom reached out after Kenya won Miss USA, then I do think that was the mom wanting her cake and eating it too. Don't reach out to congratulate -- and then say "but, oh don't' contact me." I just truly hope Kenya can let it go now. As a side note, is Kenya's dad ill or does he have some kind of health issue. He's speech is slurred. His walking and breathing are labored, etc. I know he's overweight, But he's got to have something else going on. Lots overweight people don't look and sound like that at 60. I wonder if he had job that was physically demanding, that beat him up.
  19. The show is commuting back in a couple of weeks. But I'm really posting to ask…is is me …or is there no Oprah or OWN thread AT ALL on this site? I've been looking and can't find a thing. Oprah's doing a "commercial" for Weight Watchers. So apparently she's going to try to lose weight, AGAIN. Which is fine, so am I….but I'm just surprised I haven't seen an Oprah thread in the "Talk genre" or one for any of her shows: "Super Soul Sunday," etc.
  20. I can't believe all the hate (my word) for Kim. So she's boring because she doesn't want to act ignorant, and show her tits and ass (literally) on TV? Because she starts her day with the Lord, and misses her family. Because she doesn't agree with grown women screaming and physically assaulting each other over dumb shit that doesn't' even matter? True -- she signed up for the show. And should have known would that would entail. But I'm glad she is a breath of fresh air on the show. Is getting drunk and fighting -- and inviting strange men back to their house -- the only way for girlfriends to have fun? Kim is the only one of these trifling bitches I'd ever want to know -- at all.
  21. First about candles, then about Marcus and this episode….. 1) I AM a candle buyer, and will pay luxury price for them…why? I'm a sucker for 1) packaging, and 2) scent. If you can get me with those two you're half way to a sale. In the high end candle market -- $28 is a CHEAP candle. At stores like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales I've bought the brands Diptyque (French) and Jo Malone, 2.4 ounces for 32.00, 6 oz for 80.00, and Jo Malone (London) 7 oz for 65.00. Also Elton Joh candles (by Nest) -- and a lot of other brands -- aren't cheap. Obviously scented candles are a completely optional or lifestyle kind of purchase. Like other products they're totally discretionary. So FIRST, you have to have a potential customer that's open to buying candles for reasons other than need….THEN you have to get them by packaging and scent. AND for health or environmental reasons they may want not a cheap paraffin wax candle…they may want a soy or beeswax candle which is NOT going to be at a Dollar Store Walmart price point. 2) Now as for the show….(in no particular order) a) Sure Marcus toned down the packaging, but was it REALLY that much of a difference. I like Mark's Idea and Marcus'. b) It wasn't clear whether they totally abandoned their special pre-drip look…which I DO think there's a market for. They just needed more promotion. With the right promotion, you can sell ice to Eskimos. The guy in the store even said they did sell. It was the "artistic" story candles that didn't sell that much. But if you lower the price and get them in the RIGHT shop they'd sell. NEVER in BIG numbers but I see all kinds of shit in gift shops The one with the Victrola on it should be in a music shop. But again that's NOT mass market. b) Kitting and having other products is great….but how are they any different from any other company I see at Marshals, TJ Maxx or Ross everyday already? This is not to say don't go into that market, and branch out. But with so many options already….personally I don't see any reason to by them versus something else -- OTHER than where I started packaging and scent. They already had clients such as Urban Outfitters and others. I got the impression MARK didn't know how to hang onto the big accounts he had. c) Lord knows I'm not an entrepreneur and certainly have never wanted to be in sales. But if I were I want to be in the toilet paper business. Sure there's lots of competition, but at least you know it's a product people have to buy…they'll come to YOU to buy it. As for candles it's no secret that when the recession hit, discretionary spending is a major category in a person's budget that gets slashed -- and depending on your clientele LUXURY discretionary spending really gets cut. d) as a potential customer -- who is a candle buyer, personally I'm about ingredients…so I prefer a beeswax (or maybe soy) candle which burns cleaner than cheaper waxes….and lotions and soap with no glycerin alcohol etc. So if his new line is cheaply made with cheap ingredients -- like any other has market line….I can't say I wouldn't buy it for a gift fro someone else…but again how is that any different from 5 hand creams in a gift pack at Walgreens for 10.00?…that's HALF PRICE after Christmas. Or the real cheap knock-off stuff at the Dollar Store? As a show viewer this I loved seeing Marcus' business mind at work. I liked to see that he's not just picking business to make a gazillion bucks and make every deal and mega deal.
  22. Late to the party, I know…but I'm just now reading this. Wow. I saw the Valerie Berinelli episode with her Hot in Cleveland co-stars. 1) yes she talks. like. Giada. and 2) the food, recipes, and techniques were absolutely UNinspired Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond is growing on me. I don't think I'll ever be glued to -- or a regular watcher of any cooking show, but if there's NOTHING else on, I'll watch -- Ree….Ina Garten…….and depending on the recipe…..Giada ( I lived in Italy, so that's for nostalgia reasons.) (Of course I watch other shows on PBS Lidia Bastianich, heaven help her MaryAnn Esposito….and ANYthing featuring Jacque Pepin) Since we're cooking show fans her….anyone old enough to remember southern cooking who host Natalie Dupree. She was always forgetting ingredients, and getting flour all over herself. She was a hoot…..I know, i know…she was on PBS not Food Network. Oh since I'm reminiscing one host I've never warmed up to all that much is Sara Mouton…she's like Natalie Dupree was…..knows what she's doing, but is discombobulated….like she can't juggle cooking and hosting….smoothly.
  23. ^^ Marcus should be running away from this. As for the NYS AG…this is low hanging fruit…a gimme…Joe is on tape talking about his alleged activities. But is his favor, he is small potatoes. SO MAYBE not worth the time. But low hanging fruit and an easy case -- could be made to be an example for others. How can you do business with someone who, on national TV, admits to allegedly committing a business kind of irregularity. Marcus always seemed to be the kind of person who never wanted to be anywhere near any hint of illegality, impropriety or even the appearance of such. I'm disappointed. Like the name Standard Burger is that known? I don't think so. So what value is there in that? As for the main product…what's that? The menu isn't even set. It's hamburger with creative kinds of toppings. You don't need to buy a franchise to do that. He's going to buy a franchise fee to put good beef and triple creme brie, and caramelized onions….or smoked goat cheese and truffles on a brioche?Give me a break.
  24. I don't think Marcus would like it if someone lied to him -- about their business info….or the personal stuff he asks them about. I know producers may ask them to do certain scenes or have conversations in certain locations but I didn't think Marcus went along with made up drama. Not that he could control whether someone would like to him, but he doesn' seem to be the type to appreciate that. And would have something to say about it.
  25. ^^Exactly, Dave. Exactly WHAT is he getting out of it. At this point IMO there is no business to franchise. They're not successful at the location they have. The menu isn't set. Lord knows the jokers at Standard Burger have NO corporate support to provide. That franchise guy has to be crazy…I question HIS business judgement. I honestly think he felt pressured into a deal because he was on camera. I hope he has an out clause.
