  1. So that's how they got on the show…..Marcus had his eye on them from the start. Not exactly the story of he others that we've been led to believe applied to be on the show, asking Marcus to help them. I may have to see if I can get through this latest Green Tea episode. I was doing something else while watching so not paying complete attention. But what I did see I was bored with. Scenes of arguing with the kid got very old, very quickly. Turned me off. I got the point the THIRD time they showed it. And SOME times I feel Marcus' arrogance comes through. You never name a food with the word "black?" Blackened seafood, BLACK forest cake, BLACK truffles. I thought of those without even thinking hard. Not to mention squid ink pasta which you may see on a menu with the word "black" explaining what it is. While I do think "toasted sesame" might have sounded better, I'm not willing to right off the black sesame ice cream just because they showed a few people on TV not liking it. I don't like birthday cake or cooke dough flavors, but apparently a whole lot of people do. So a few taste-testers in Shop Rite don't sway me.
  2. I'm loving this season. And loved this episode. I'm noticing the comedy more. NOT liking Louisa as much, though. She's an actual bitch at times. Why would she think it's funny to tease him about having a party and expecting him to make a speech? Not funny. Passive/aggressive actually. Not pretty. And not the way you treat someone you love.
  3. 1) I am totally disappointed in Erika. I liked her so much until this episode. I don't like liars. Can't abide them. And one thing that will make you drop you fast is if I think I can't trust you and you have no integrity. BUt I suppose we've all lied about somethings we've said in life. I'm just disappointed…mostly because of the way Erika has presented herself until now….as a take no prisoners stand up person. 2) I am totally on Yolanda's side. If some bitch said her kids weren't sick I don't blame her one bit for wanting find out who it was, nail that down -- and SHUT it down. Damned right!
  4. 1) Rob and Ro….Still like them. Just don't have any comment beyond.."OK she went to see her dad." Not really invested in this part of their story. 2) Erika and Adonis. First of all, I wish Erika would stop saying ME and Adonis. UGH Second, I already think she has issues so the fact that she's bring her hen phew into her dysfunctional relationship doesn't' surprise me. I suppose if he needed a home she'd have to do it. But she actually thinks…well let's juts say she's more optimistic about how that might turn out than I am 3) Rob and Tara…I've had two homes remodeled and you better believe I was there when all demo was done. How the hell do you come home and an entire bathroom that should NOT have been torn out….is removed?? 4) Craig and Brandon…..I wouldn't have looked at Brandon and thought he had gynecomastia. His chest looked to me like he just had developed pecs, and like that tissue was muscle. Heck -- Craig looks like he could have it. Craig did step up and take care of Brandon though. Oh and what DID Brandon have done to his face?
  5. What in the world does "5 Day Flip" even refer to? The little I saw of it, I thought you can't be talking about 5 days of work on the house, because the work you're doing needs permits. You can't be referring to selling in 5 days, because you don't know that will happen. Dumb show name I think. Goes back to all HGTV shows have stupid time rushed formats: Designed to sell 2 days to remodel a house for resale, "24 Hourr Design" -- one day to redecorate a house. Ridiculous.
  6. As for the black tile, for a FLIP, I think it was a gamble that just happened to pay off. BUT black tile is actually what you would NOT want to do. Because it IS NOT rally considered neutral….and it's a fairly permanent item. Again, did it pay off? Yes. Personally I wouldn't have taken that risk. Also with these shows being as fake as they are, for all we know more people walked in and said they DIDN'T like it. And I bet we wouldn't have been shown that. I also think the "potential buyers" on this show, are 'primed" to like whatever is done because it's new, and uh -- they're on TV. Trust me, if this very same house had been on "House Hunters" they'd have had the very same couples walk through and say they hated the black tile.
  7. Dignity? What's that. DO ANY of these ladies have much of that left? IF the ever had any. Kim has her's and people are criticizing her for being "boring." I'm team kim all the way.
  8. I think the show should have said the store was in "the Chicago suburb of Highalnd Park" or "outside Chicago in Highaldn Park." No one has said spend a half hour explaining exactly where it is. On other shows haven't they said things like "near XYZ?" It's not that complicated. And 35 miles away is what I would call a far out suburb at that. It's not like it's just on the outside of the Chicago line (so you think OK its right there) -- or even 15 miles out.. it IS completely misleading -- and just plain factually incorrect and LYING -- to say a store or restaurant, or business in Highland Park is "in Chicago." Like I said ,just say outside or near Chicago. Viewers are smart enough to understand-- and appreciate -- that. OK Mike is a dick, He always was a Dick. And a lazy one at that. If franchise fees are a percentage then the better the stores do the more they pay, right? So I'd think Mike would want the outlets to do well….isn't HE the one who's quick to say HE started it and HE's associated with it? So then WORK to make sure it grows and is even more successful…DICK! He's a lazy arse. Now let me get to mom. What is HER problem. How the hell does she not support her son? She hadn't been to visit the store? That's on HER, not Mike. Mom seems like a needy lost type. No clue. Weak. The type that always looks to a man to tell her what to do. WHY isn't SHE more involved in the business behind the franchise? HER kids are the ones busting their asses for it. Someone refresh my memory……did she and her husband start this business. Did MIKE start this, or did he marry into it, when he married her. Perhaps the family had ONE place and she pushed for opening more? I know we don't know ALL of HER story -- but I'm so sick of seeing women who are weak, and needy and just let assholes like Mike run their lives. But some people are strong or have certain aptitudes…and others don't. I was trying not to be as direct as others -- about the mom. But yeah, she's an ass wipe too. I hope Marcus can figure out how to dump them BOTH! I want to wipe the smug look of mom's face so badly. She's lucky I'm not Marcus. "Cause I'd have ripped her a new one also. Apparently a few of us would.
  9. 1) So will Rob and Tara's only story line be him not liking and wanting to be with her family. Because enough already. BOTH of you grow up! The other three….whatever…
  10. I'm not a regular, every week, very episode gotta be there viewer, but when I do watch I'm more interested in the construction and remodeling part. Watching shows like this you CAN learn about construction, remodeling, interior design, flipping, etc Shows like: Designing for the Sexes, Kitty Bartholomew, Chriss Casson Madden, Lynette Jennings, Christopher Lowell, Design on a Dime, Decorating Cents, Room by Room, Designers Challenge, Sensible Chic….…shows the newbies may not even know about…..are how I learned about interior design ALL the remodeling shows, from FOP, Designed to Sell, Holmes on Home, Love it or List it, Spice Up My Kitchen, My Bad Bath, Income Property -- AND OF COURSE! -- THis Old House -- are how I learned: -- about the various kinds of beams that can be put in when you replace load-bearing walls -- that water heaters need certain amounts of clearance around them, that ceilings must have certain clearances and stairways -- the meaning of PVC, OSB, Structural composite lumber (SCL), laminated veneer lumber ( LVL), parallel strand lumber (PSL), laminated strand lumber (LSL)….the weaknesses of particle board, the difference between various tile backer boards, -- the pros and cons of copper versus PVC, why electrical panels may need to be replaced, why aluminum wiring is bad, that you can't have hidden junction boxes, etc -- HOW to be your own GC: the order in which you want to have your tradesman come in, that depending on the job you may or may NOT want the plumbers and electricians, working on the same days, ie.: floors vs paint last? Lord knows "Holmes on Homes" was an education every episode! Again I've had two homes remodeled, and been watching HGTV for 20 years. So unlike others who may be new to theses kinds of shows, or new to the flipping world…..what I've learned over the decades from HGTV is exactly that ANYONE CAN do these things. Maybe all this is why the tired formula of FOF doesn't' bother me it is what it is, and I watch it for what it is.
  11. ^^ FOF is like other HGTV shoes once we long timers have seen 3,4,5 season or more of a show -- what's left today about it. It's the newbies who are still astounded that: -- the budget is too small, or -- the prices are too low (or to high:)) -- the schedule is unrealistic -- the bidding is too easy... For those of us who have watched HGTV for almost DECADES now…..NOTHING is new. FOF -- like all other HGTV shows -- is as formulaic as can be: -- they buy a house, through bid or some kind a purchase (I don't think we've ever seen them lose a bid, So that right there makes me think that part is rigged.) -- Some times they can see inside before they buy, some times they can't -- Tarek wants to remodel in for 30K -- there's ALWAYS SOME combination of issues: vandalism, permits, burst pipes, mold, lead, foundation…that of course blow the budget -- Tarek says "well I guess we have todo it. But we hadn't planned for this in the budget -- Tarek wants basic finishes, Christina says, "No, we have to go high end, with upgraded finishes." -- Tarek, balks….at first, but, somehow, ALWAYS comes around and is convinced to spend the money.
  12. ^^ If so, just like the rest of us who want more, or to achieve and get at least closer to the top in our careers, we figure something out, make contacts, polish up the resume, to other work, etc.. She'll have to hustle. stand out, make her luck, and be in right places at the right times….but….look at Patricia Field, the Zoe Whatever-Her-Name-Is stylist who had her own Bravo show, and heck her assistant Brad even got his own show. She's got work like Omarosa….when that girl got her chance she worked her 15 mins…HARD! Heck Rob wants into the music business, and was in a studio. If any who comes through that studio does an appearance, concert or video. RO had better be pitching herself to be the stylist. If her store or anyone she knows has some big event, she'd better be offering to style it, anyone having a fashion show -- I don't care if it's a a church hall and the Tom Thumb group -- she'd better pitch to be the stylist or show runner. Come on Ro -- HUSTLE! if she were the only woman on an oil rig and the boss needed to push the fact that they hire women -- they'd come find her for photos. But she want to do something where competition is stiff, and Rob was right….she's not the the only game in town.
  13. I love Kim, and to be honest would love a show with Kim and Phaedra, and maybe some of the other ladies or some new ladies -- without all the classlessness of Nene and Kenya. Maybe some people think a housewives show with Kim and Phaedra and others who do not get crazy like Kenya, would be boring. Frankly I'd like to see women relate or have "friendships" -- and NOT be ignorant all the time. Kim is still a breath of fresh air -- NOT wearing make up all the time, being focused on her family, taking her career seriously, acting PROFESSIONAL, not physically fighting. What's wrong with showing more women on TV with some decorum. Kenya's behavior on this episode, and Nene's in general throughout the series, is why I'm tired of the drama. Why you all gonna make me say it?: Can I please see some professional black women on TV who have their act together, don't have neuroses, don't' say baffroom an birffday, don't get physical, have some class, and don't act ignorant and above it all. People like Kim are who I'd like to see more of on TV. ((Even the women on Blood Sweat and Heels, got into fights. Even the Doctors on Married to Medicine yells and scream. Even the women on RHWO Potomac are trifling. Stop it!))
  14. Yes. Paul Mooney is Adonis' GRANDfather (not uncle). And Adonis's father is an identical twin. And he and his twin have done comedy together. There's a YouTube video of them called "The Mooney Twins." The video could have been a paid gig, or just an open mic night. That's what it looks like, because it doesn't seem as if their routine and material was all that polished, at all. And who knows if they ever had any success. Adonis' FATHER's name is Dwayne (sp)? I don't' recall the uncle's name. Because it's never been mentioned that Adonis' father has a twin (and why would i,be really). I saw the video and was like, yowza!. Not only a brother, but a twin -- and an identical twin at that. I can seem the resemblance in all the Mooney men…some thing about the basic face shape…. As for Rob and Ro the hustle bustle NY thing….HOW LONG have they been in NY/NJ, and did they EVER live in any of the boroughs, were they ever NEW YORKERS….or they always lived in Jersey. We know the last place they had was in the same complex, because Ro said they only moved upstairs. I ask because IF they've lived/worked in NY/NJ for over a year…they've had times to make friends. it's not like the JUST moved there is it? Many stereotypes are based on a nugget of truth. Many people are in long lines, many aren't. Many sit in traffic for hours, many don't. If you take the train you're not stuck in traffic. If you take the bus, you are. It's not like what's said about that isn't true. It is just not for everyone. Nor is true for everyone. Ro was stung by Rob's demeaning comments. AND, perhaps climbing the ladder in fashion, MIGHT need more strategic hustle than Ro expected. I do think her job unhappiness, couple with Rob's DIScouragement has shaken her, and why she's talking about FLA. She just needs to get her fierce girl mojo back. Come Ro, you can do it, shake that off. The best revenge is success. Work some contacts, do some work on the side, HUSTLE!!! (Granted now if she does that she won't be home for dinner with Rob every night at 8p. And if he's hustling in his music career, he won't be home by 7p every night either (whether Ro is home or not)
  15. Why couldn’t the “average” person just do it? “Average” people start careers and jobs, businesses all over this country every day. What’s so exceptional -- or “NOT average” -- about Chip and Joanna Gaines, or Tarek and Christina? They’re not special, and are no different from most people who start a business – based on skills they already had…and then – bust their tails – or get lucky and grow the business and branched out into other things. Chip was in construction and Jonanna has a knack for design. (Her degree was in communications – NOT design.) Tarek and Christina were already in real estate and branched out. Obviously if a person already works in that field or a related job, then they have more knowledge going in, than "someone off the street." But that's no different from someone who works at a clothing store knowing how to open their own boutique, or someone who works for a fashion designer and has made contacts, knowing who to start their own clothing line, etc. Risky? Yes but so is starting most (if not all) businesses In this country. As for your confidence level that you could do it. I can’t speak to that. I found a contractor through a friend’s recommendation – liked his work he did for me on two family houses that I oversaw the remodeling for. And I casually asked him if he’d like to maybe go in on a flip with me. I’d find the house, he’d do the work. He said, “sure.” What’s so hard about that? I don’t feel I was in a financial position to do it THEN, but IF I had pursued it I would have had my contracting partner. Is it easy to find the RIGHT house, at the right PRICE? To allow for enough margin to flip for a profit. THAT is what I think is the hard part. But still it’s nothing the average person who wants to do it – and who will do their due diligence – can’t do. Ever see a show on CNBC called “HOW I MADE MY MILLIONS” Check it out. Plenty of stories about “average” people, who’ve started businessed and made millions. OK then….. now there’s a liess risky venture than flipping…opening a restaurant. Well then you want it to be a different show. Because that’s not what THIS show is about. But I can relate to your thoughts. Because -- to this day I wish "House Hunters" would be honest about the fact that the house search we see is fake, and the buyers are already in escrow on the house they've chosen…and that "Designed to Sell" hadn't totally fudged the remodeling costs on the show, or that Love it or List It wouldn't ALWAYS have Hillary run into trouble and couple couples argue about what has to come off the list -- and they may not be moving at, but just want the remodeling done at a discount. BUT, that's the format of the show. Make a pitch to Scripps Television and the production companies that make shows for HGTV. It’s worth a try. Let the programmers know how you feel. Contact them and make your suggestions. Again if that’s what you’d like to see -- T&C talking about the BUSINESS side of their BUSINESS – write the producers and HGTV and the producers say that. Let the programmers know what you’d like tosee on the show. I'm serious…. let them know what you think about the show. I will say though that I’ve found the HGTV is more about the DESIGN and REMODELING part of flipping (it’s call HGTV, not a business channel.) If you’d like to see a show about the BUSINESS of flipping pitch the idea to Fox Business Network, or Bloomberg TV or CNBC. Absolutely not saying that at all. You're original post SPECIFICALLY asked "how do Tarek and Christina always know what wall to knock down, room to push back, etc." Now you've changed that and say your point was/is that you don’t think the average person could do what T&C do. OK, That's fine. Maybe the average person would have an aptitude for interior design…maybe they wouldn't. You must not watch much reality TV then. But, as I said I can relate to being frustrated with a TV show…..
  16. ....yeah but to break down and cry because your fifth-great grandfather was sent to prison but was railroaded is crazy. I thought Keenan's responses were more logical (to me)…he was like "Oh, OK." He related to the ancestors personal dilemmas but didn't act like it happened to someone he KNEW personally. And some people on this show act like that.
  17. Are Tarek and Christina – who are who I was referring to -- regular people walking into a house? OR are they professional flippers? My comment was not referencing “A regular person” who is an non-professional flipper. It was in response to the comment “ how do Tarek and Christina always know what wall to knock down, room to push back, etc." 1) They don’t always know 2) They’re professional flippers who’ve seen and designed dozens of home remodels so I’d expect them to have the knowledge they do. If they don’t know by now -- to suggest opening up a wall to get more kitchen space – then I don’t know if they need to flippers or what they’ve been doing all these years. 3) True, what one person finds easy to learn or comment sense – another person may not be able “to see it.” BUT just because some people ‘can’t see it” doesn’t mean it’s a rule difficult to learn for most people. Also there’s DESIGN knowledge – and construction knowledge. They, Tarek and Christina, are talking about DESIGN, to the contractor – they may want a wall knocked out, window changed out for a door, or the bathroom door moved. Several times the contractor has said “we can’t move this wall”…or we can move this door but it means changing this clearance over here…or we can move that utility room but the ducts also have to be moved. T&C say this is want we want to do…the contractors says “that’s easy” – or “you can’t do that” or “if you insist on this -- this is how we have to do it.” It’s called collaboration and consultation. Other shows featuring regular people – who may or may not be told what to say by producers -- balking because THEY CANT SEE IT, has nothing whatsoever to do with Tarek and Christina who are professional flippers having the skill to assess what changes can be made to home during a remodel. And those regular people not seeing it -- doesn’t mean “it actually IS that hard to figure out”. Just because THEY don’t get it, that doesn’t make it hard. And I will concede that just because someone else gets it – doesn’t make it easy. Some people have an apttiude for design. Some don't. Are you saying that after dozens and dozens of flips you don’t’ think they should be able to say let’s open up the wall, or move this bathroom. You wouldn’t think they would have picked up the ability to see that – even though they’re not professional contractors? Partner or private financier -- call Pete what you want. He provides some of the money and gets a return on his “investment” Pete doesn’t want to OWN houses, or FLIP houses. He wants a return on his money. In my mind that makes him an “investor.” If T&C call him a partner, that's good enough for me. That last sentence is a complete non sequitur – having nothing to do with the rest of the paragraph. If you think you can be successful, why not try it? I've thought about it also and may do it in my retirement years. Remember though that Tarek is licensed realtor, so that commission is one cost he doesn't have. Exactly.
  18. I'm not convinced I'd want to take a course with him or not. I don't' know him none of us do….and I'm not going to make it a racial issue -- but I get the sense that he's the kind of man that actually does NOT take very well to being challenged. I'm not saying he's not likable, lovable and wouldn't give you the shirt off his back -- and all that. But I just get the sense that if challenged with another point of view or a disagreement that he would pull rank very quickly. I'm sure we all know certain people that they're all lovey-dovey -- but just have that one quirk, that their ego can't take being challenged. They take every different point of view as a personal affront to their knowledge and title. They'll let you know in a heart beat -- "I'm the professor," or "I'm the manager." I wouldn't mess with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. I can see him thinking a student was challenging him and trying to embarrass him or something. I just don't think he takes dissent from HIS opinion very well. I have nothing concrete to base that on at all…it's just an opinion.
  19. I am very, very close to family members I know and love. My family on both sides has family reunions every year, with huge attendance. ….but what has always struck me about this show -- and I suppose more correctly -- the people featured on it -- is the emotional attachment they have to people they don't know. TRUE…they were your ancestors, but you didn't know them. A person's -- let's say Jimmy Kimmel's emotional reaction to finding out more about a grandparent you knew and lived with and were raised with -- but perhaps didn't know all the struggles in their younger life is one thing….but some of these guests cry and get upset about their second grand-grandfather losing an eye in the civil war. OK, I never saw that example. But Donna Brazile broke down about someone's slave family being separated. Donna, baby, it's OK, that's what happened then. Obviously slavey was an abomination, but to get all worked up about atrosities five generations about is crazy, to me. My cousin's family on my uncle-in-law's side had land that was taken away in the South. Are they supposed to cry about that now? Host Louis Gates. always asks guest "how do you feel about that... -- you're third great grand-father was sent to prison, how do you feel about that? -- you're second great-grand father owned slaves, how do you feel about that? -- you're great-grandfather fought with the Molly McGuires, how do you feel about that? How is someone supposed to feel about that. OK it happened. I guess I just wouldn't give him the personal emotional attachment to these people that producers would be hoping for. Is a person really that emotional about seeing a picture of the fourth great-grandmother once removed? All the talk of Ty Burrell finding out a black person was in his lineage..OK ONE black person, uh, four generations ago? Or five or six or however many it was. OK. Other than surprise and a chuckle, and a "what do you know?", what was he supposed to feel about that? OK … that's interesting, tell me more…but....it doesn't affect his life today, it's not like HE'S black, so what was Gates expecting. Sure Ben Affleck for some reason had his unexplainable reaction to finding out he had salve holders in his family -- allegedly tried to get it covered up. I didn't get that either. Yo, Ben, you're not alone. Relax dude. THAT isn't worth a cover up. (UNLESS, his family has legacy money, and he's afraid a DIRECT descendant of a slave could make claim to some of that …his reaction was a little crazy, to me.) It wasn't that his family had slaveholders that was the surprise…HIS REACTION and alleged request was the mindblower for me. I've traced my family back several generations. So I like, appreciate and I can relate to the show. I just don't get many of the guests reactions to certain things, that's all.
  20. 1) It's not that hard -- and it IS how they make they're living. Why WOULDN"T they be able to walk in and have some ideas about let's do this and let's move that -- In consultation with their contractor? 2) They do NOT "always know what wall to knock down, room to push back." Just like any other buyers who plan major remodels they come in and say, "Oh let's do this and let's do that." There've been plenty of episodes where the contractor has told them, "No, we can't move that wall," or "we can only open it up this far without a beam -- but if you want it completely gone it will cost you XX.XX and a beam has to be X-by-X and that will cost XX.XX."… or "we can't move this heater, or put this panel here," etc. Sometimes they'll say, to the contractor -- see if there's any duct work in this wall, if there's not then we can do this or that. 3) I'm sure they've flipped enough houses to have enough knowledge to basically know what they're talking about. It doesn't take a genius to see that if you knock out a wall you open up a given space….or if two closets are back-to-back you can take space from one, and give it to the other room, or if a closet is on one side of a bathroom you can use that space to enlarge the bathroom. Also, when you've seen as many houses as they have …. If you've seen dozens of colonials or ranchers or bungalows or split levels -- that have been been in various states of remodel -- and seen what's been done and how they've been reconstructed -- you DO get to know what can be done and what can't. It's not that hard to figure out.
  21. Didn't know said or even implied that it was. My point was that Yolanda isn't' the only person concerned about toxins in the body being introduced through things like nail polish. And the many people who believe they have chemical sensitivities don't wear make up, or nail polish. If critics want to poo-poo that (not that that is what you were doing), that of course, is their right.
  22. The number one thing that bothers me about house flipping shows is the unrealistically low construction and contractor costs, for labor and materials. I just watched a Flip or Flop show where the contractor -- gave a quite of 9K for all new plumbing AND a new roof……and said rewiring the entire house would be 2K. Uh Excuse me. In what world? I know contractor give costs breaks to flippers they work with all the time, but they still have to make SOME money on the job. I just don't see how they get the jobs done for as little as they do. There was a flipping show Flip This House and one of the flippers was Rudy Martinez in LA. He worked with almost only Hispanic contractors and the dirt cheap rates he paid them were so unrealistically low it was ridiculous. Labor and materials CANNOT possibly be that cheap in LA and Southern California. I think the profit margins should be a lot tighter than they let on. They give the numbers so I guess they're not lying, but I have my own personal doubts about some of the numbers we're shown.
  23. I'm surprised by all the /hate/snark/doubt about Yolanda's Illness. I think she is/was sick -- and also wanted to be on the show. Is that a sin? I like her a lot. I wouldn't expect that someone who was sick and recovering to care about wearing make up -- ESPECIALLY if you think chemicals and toxins are aggravating your illness. There was a recent study about toxic nail polish chemicals being found in women's bodies -- by Duke University. Not exactly some quack outfit. Geez.
  24. 1) The number one thing that bothers me about house flipping shows is the unrealistically low construction and contractor costs, for labor and materials. I just watched a FOF show where the contractor (the bald white guy, not Israel) -- gave a quite of 9K for all new plumbing AND a new roof……and said rewiring the entire house would be 2K. 2) Tarek and Christina are partners with a money guy. So are lots of flippers. One partner has the money, the other has the real estate and rehabbing expertise -- they get together and flip houses. One side is the relatively silent money guy who gets a return on his investment. The other side has the know how, but needs the money man for the financing. It's no great mystery. 3) I like Christina's design and decorating choices -- for the most part. I've only seen one floor that I didn't like, hated actually. Some laminate, fake white washed faded barn wood look all through the house. Thought that was a real miss. But other than than her decorating is basic midrange flip, appeal to the masses style. Nothing special. But there's also nothing wrong with that. It gets the job done. And as for the staging, I don't know that most flippers stage to the extent we see on TV. 4) The "buyers" and house hunters don't even phase me because I presume that's all fake anyway. The sign goes up for the open house, and if you're willing to be filmed you can come through, whether you're interested in buying or a lookie-loo, who cares. Production just has a scene to film. Also, unless the production crew is just following them around for nothing, I'd imagine the scenes where we see them win a house at auction -- OR -- making a bid by phone -- must be recreated. Because if not, how would the crew know they're going to get a house that day. AND we never see them go out and NOT get the house. So I think those scenes are set up, the scenes where Tarek and Christina supposedly do some actual work seem to be set up just for taping. So a whole lot of this show comes off as s smoke and mirrors to me.
  25. And Ro just happens to realize she wants to move to FLA, now, as it jut so happens she's not happy with her job? Because two episodes, and two months ago…she was all hung ho. Not that situations and people can't change, but do think if she were making mine from blogging and working for Michael Kors or Katherine Malandrino she'd not be talking about moving south. (I would have said Valentino, or Carolina Herrera to make my point -- but that would give a hint as to just how old I am:):))
