  1. My bad. I will correct. DABL is CBS....Live Well Network is ABC. DABL also has "Sell This House" (with Tanya Meme and Roger Hazard) And FYI (which you likely already know) -- LWN has a couple of design shows: "Knock It Off" -- based in and around the Philadelphia. area....."At Home with Lisa Quinn" -- based in the San Francisco area -- and "Find and Design"......are three right off the top of my head. And some channel, I can't recall which, has "Flipping Boston" (repeats of course).
  2. FYI -- For those who love designer Sarah Richardson and any of her shows.....her show "Room Service" is being shown on DABL. DABL is a CBS* digital channel you can get on some antennas (antennae). I get it in the Philadelphia area. 2 episodes air back to back from 1 to 2p ET. Oh how I wish there were more excellent designs shows like hers. I don't have cable. But even if I did, HGTV is all mostly House Hunters, Tiny Houses, and couples who flip. The days of Chris Casson Madden, Kitty Bartholomew, Michael Payne, Room by Room, Sensible Chic, and Decorating Cents, Stagers, Design on a Dime, Before and After, Dream House, Designer's Challenge are loooong gone. Even the home repair shows are gone: Help Around the House, Fix it Up, Handy Ma'am, etc. Current younger viewers don't even know those shows existed.☹️
  3. Yes I remember it. And I liked it. It's another example of a show that HGTV could re-run in a block of "classic shows." I'd rather see that than the one-millionth airing of a House Hunters episode or a copy cat renovation show.
  4. I loved the home design remodel shows on IONLife. The only problems were: -- As a loooong time, over decades viewer of home design shows. I've seen all of the shows that the channels see, to rerun all the time. I've seen every Devine Design, and For Rent. AND that Canadian Weekend Reno show only had ONE season...so 13 shows. And IONLife was airing EIGHT shows in mini-marathon blocks, so after MONTHS of that, I'd seen all of those shows at least four or five times. If you only have 13 shows. And run show episodes 1-8 on the first Sunday, then the second Sunday, the very next weekend, you're airing episodes 9-13, AND 1-3, Well I just saw episodes 103 last week. So on the third weekend you're airing episodes 4-8, an 9-11. Well I just saw episodes 9-11 the second weekend. In essence the channel was running the same shows every weekend. ANYone would get sick of that eventually. Meanwhile, there are some shows that have NEVER been rerun. I loved Designers Challenge: 3 designers, each present their pitch, and the owners pick one. Other shows: Before and After, Design Home?: it followed one owner/couple for the season as they (contractors) completely remodeled the house from top to bottom. Decorating Cents, Room-by-Room, Designing for the Sexes. Weekend Warriors: where homeowners did the work. Heck even Designed to Sell, and I hated the workmanship on that show. But I'll be darn if I didn't get some great ideas. Same with Design on a Dime, Double Take, and Sensible Chic.
  5. Someone up thread mention repeats of older design/remodel shows. I'd be over the moon if we could get all shows old shows back on (the repeats I mean) I go back to HGTV when it was first launched. Shows we'll never see the likes of again: Hints by Heloise, Room by Room, Decorating Cents, Gardiner's Journal and some before those. Chriss Casson Madden, Cindy Picoli, Kitty Bartholemew, Michael Payne, the list could go on. Heck get the rights to Christopher Lowell and Lynette Jennings shows. And there are the HGTV Canada shows. Some that have never been shown in the states. If Food Network can have a sister Cooking Channel, for the life of me I don't get why HGTV won't launch a classic home channel -- OR at least devote the overnight/weekends or four hour overnight weekend block to "HGTV Classics." I know there are likely ownership/copyright and other "rights" details to work out, but for the life of me I don't get why it's not worked out somehow. Ion Life could have done it, sure. But HGTV is the dead on, real network to do it, since it was the original carrier of the shows. TLC could have done it too. But that channel is just a shadow of itself. Talk about a channel that's 180 degrees from what was....
  6. Episodes are on YouTube. I LOVE their reactions. The way they recoil, and say "oooh" and scrunch their noses when something sticks. It's hysterically great!
  7. I liked Colour Confidential/Get Color. BUT I hated that damned color wheel. I know, I know, the "wheel" was a THE main part of the color selection process. I believe the couple knew or had pre-approved what the design was before hand, maybe they just didn't know which specific items would be picked to represent the color choices). But, as presented on the show, it's made to seem that the host picks the color options for the couple. That wouldn't fly for me. Suppose there's no yellow or red, or tan on the wheel and that's what I like. Like I said, the show was OK. And while some of the color combinations I disagreed with, for the most partI guess the results were decent. And certainly better than the "before."
  8. I think most of this tiny house interest is ridiculous. And ALL of the show set ups are fake (IMO). So I can't watch any kind of house hunter shows anymore. That's right, I guess I'm passing judgement. But who in their right mind wants to live with two kids -- 4 and 7 -- different genders, in a 375 sq ft space. One show I saw all the beds were pull out. The kinds and parents were on bunk beds, the opposite gender sibs were suppose to sleep together -- and and there was ONE sink shared for kitchen AND bathroom. Just stop it.
  9. Why do kids of celebrities think they should be models? Lisa Rinna's daughters are not THAT cute. And the brunette who is not modeling is actually cuter than the blond who calls herself a model. Doesn't make them less as people. But Rinna's kids can't hold a candle to Bella and Gigi Hadid. If Rinna's daughter didn't have famous parents she'd never get a modeling gig. It's just another example of a famous name not deserving the career break they get.
  10. Kenya -- who holds a house warming in a house still under construction? Oh, my. The Matt outburst -- I have no words. Porsha -- I guess I don't have any words about her either…other than: so stupid. Cynthia -- just a needy person who should have so much more confidence that she does. She could be taking the world by storm with all kinds of products: hair, make up clothing…..but no, NENE is the one with a fashion line?? She couldn't have been the break out star of the past few seasons instead she's just sad. Kandi -- I'm happy for her. As a foodie I hope the restaurant succeeds. But I hate to say I don't see Todd being a successful business person. He's no Peter in the failure department. But I'm just not super confident in Todd's skills. Phaedra -- I can't suffer hypocrites. The Christian with the dirty, fowl mouth and base base behavior. I can't stand her pompous ass. Sheree -- I didn't watch the show the first seasons when she was on. I'm liking her shade and talking heads, if nothing else. She's entertaining, I'll say that.
  11. Why for the love go God can Andy NOT move on from the Teresa/Jackie relationship. Enough already. I'm glad Teresa is done with Jackie. NOW maybe Andy will get Jackie off the damned show. I agree with those who believe that Chris is stuck….if Nicolas weren't special needs I think Chris might have even thought about divorcing Jackie. I do wish Teresa and her cousins would make up. Maybe I missed something -- but what did Kathy and her sister (I'm drawing a blank) do to be cut off so badly. Teresa has given Jackie multiple chances -- and her own cousins she can't cut a break? I know there was some back and forth -- which I never did understand -- about the parents. But was it really THAT egregious to cause such a schism?
  12. IF her net was 188 Mill -- OK then she has bit more time to get her self together. But I don't ever see HER managing that money well. I give her 10-12 years max before she's broke. I only hope her lawyer and accountant -- who could have set up mighty generous retainer deals -- at least did the honorable thing and made sure the kids' college money is already set aside and she can't touch it for ANY thing else. I guess I have to take this show on an episode by episode basis -- cause I can only take so much dysfunction at one time. It's just sad to see people who could achieve so much -- be so effed up emotionally. They're 30-something year's old -- and some over 40 and still don't have their act together.
  13. 1) The Louis Gosset Jr. shaman council was a bit much…. 2) This show -- one the one hand makes me actually almost hate stupid people, who I know aren't stupid, who've just had a hard life. -- Like that lottery winner. Really? THAT is what she did with the money? Anyone know whether she took the 188 Mill in a lump sum. because a lump sum AFTER taxes is only about a-quarter of your win….so that's about -- what 35 mill. Take off for whatever fees she's paying SOME lawyers and accounts…who are getting rich(er) off her. She'll be broke in LESS than five years. Sorry, I just have no sympathy for her. And people Terrence who let his wife totally cut his nuts off. How can he let Just let her call the shots like that -- and with an attitude no less. The one thing I won't let people do is pull rank and order me around. It's just so disrespectful, I just couldn't abide that treatment. I confess my childhood was fairly idillyc and my parents instilled great self-esteem….I just can't relate. I have nooootrouble setting boundaries.
  14. My goodness, baby Ace looks just like Todd's mother, who passed away. Oh how she would have enjoyed that baby….. Go back an see a pic of her, and then Ace….he looks just like her (face shape and around the center eyes/nose/mouth area)
  15. I don't even know what to say about Jeff. If he was unintelligent I'd say he was a knudnick. But sometimes he was insulting, sometime vicious, some times he seemed lost. If eel for the franchisees. I'd have asked Marcus to help me get out of my argreement with Jeff. No way in hesll I'm staying with Jeff and passing up on Marcus. as for Jeff bing horrible, For me he's not even in the same league as L.A. Dog Works, Marse Florist, or Popcorn Lady, Pete’s Candy (co-owner), Skullduggery, or Artistic Stitch? Now THOSE were some "interesting" personalities.....
  16. From my first post I realized I never finished that sentence…. It was about the producers, yet again, going for the personal relationship drama between the owners or participants. This time: The father/son dysfunction. The tea guy was no dummy, he JUMPED at the chance to work with Marcus. 1) I was a true businesman, 2) I bet he went and watched back episodes of the show after he was first approached, 3) He clearly knows a great business opportunity when he sites it…….cause now he's a minority stake owner of the whole NEW company. It sounded like the tea guy was on the verge of stopping his supplying of Tea2Go, since they owed him so much money. And he's now a part owner in American Tea and Spice. So while he could keep supplying Tea2Go, why would he? They were 70K in the hole to him before Marcus showed up and put Jeff's nasty attitude on TV. That surely would be product down a hole at this point.
  17. 1) A whole lot of people make money with an idea or product they're not passionate about. Are the owners of Teavana passionate about tea? Maybe. I do agree an owner should be passionate about something -- even if it's only money -- and using the product to make money. 2) Producers, again with 3) Marcus, you NEVER want to have "to go" in the name of your business? Signs To Go. Jackets To Go, Rooms to Go? 4) As for the new name "The American Tea & Spice Shop," I honestly do believe if anyone else had that as an already existing name, he's say it was too long. Some times I do think he changes some things just to have multiple things to change. 5) I was confused at one point (editing?) -- was the kid TRYING to sabotage the business, or stepping up and doing his best to help, because his dad was a do-nothing. 6) So he'll set up all the franchisees that go with him (American Tea $ Spice) like he did this famly?
  18. I'd assume just the opposite. That they'd keep their licenses and start their own brokerage. That's what I saw when I saw the signs with their name on it. So they wouldn't need Cent 21 or anyone else.
  19. I don't marvel about the price or design of the watches, people will buy anything in this world. If they''ll by pet rocks, mood rings, Tamagachi virtual pets, anything with a Kardashian name on it, or pay 10K for an Hermes bag (I don't care WHAT kind of leather and workmanship it ism and how long it lasts -- it's 10K for a handbag) They'll buy lost anything with the right promotion. So I have no doubt the watches can sell. Are they ever going to be Timex, Bulova, Rolenx or Patek Philippe? No. But a big fish in a little pond can still get rich, and build quite a brand and business. In this episode I have no issue with how Marcus hand;ed most issues.
  20. I like "Clean Evolution" and think it works better as a brand and name than a brand that was launch a few years ago called "Method" -- what the hell is that? You have no idea what that is or even related to? Yet it's a cleaning brand name. Once it's explained You get it. But from the time I realized what it was I thought the name was stupid. Too much work to convey what the point is and for the customer to get it. But it's slowly growing. At least Eco-Me and "Clean Evolution" give you some idea of the product or its purpose. The owner was the issue here. I have no issue at all with her wanting to be a high-end exclusive brand. However, that's NOT what Marcus is interested in. And to be honest, nothing beats vinegar, borax, and baking soda for natural clearers, and you can't get any cheaper than that. So I don't know why people pay a lot for natural cleaners anyway. But hey, people pay big bucks for all kinds of things so others can get rich off the mark up. That's capitalism. Maybe, but 90 percent of the cleaning crew that cleans my office every night can't speak English. I can't even ask where's the trash can --and that's what they're doing -- emptying the trash. I get the blank look and nod. I'm like forget it. So I DO think pictures would work for them. If for no other reason so I myself could point to it for them. I won't even get into why pictures should be needed in the first place.
  21. She wasn't cooperative that was the issue. I don't by that the name alone is a hinderance. There are plenty of foreign named or foreign sounding named products that lead their category. Can you say Haagen Dazs? Heck, they even made up the name Hagen Das to sound foreign and give it cache. It's been decades and people still mispronounce Hyundai (correct is like sunday) - but there's no denying the cars sell.
  22. This show continues to make me marvel (and this episode) -- how many entries does the consumer need in one category. Aren't there already PLENTY of natural cleaning brands? Even store brands are getting in on the act. Tell me again why THIS one was so special? Luxury, expensive? Uh, OK, I guess. ((And it's why I still marvel that Marcus made the candle company he bought CHANGE from its niche, and make cand'es that a a gazillion other companies are already doing. Marcus is a guy (obviously)…I honestly don't think he realized how many competitors were already in the candle business. His great looking packaging is pretty….but even so, what are the chances some one would buy THAT one, versus another I use that example to to illustrate the high-end natural cleaning products line. There are plenty of them already. Who cares about this one?
  23. I just wish Marcus would stop acting like he knows everything about everything. We all get that he's got a certain expertise. Two weeks in a row he was unnecessarily arrogant.
  24. The kids must be devastated by the killing of the goats. To have to explain that someone did that intentionally…...
