  1. I re-watched the episode today, and that last scene of Cookie in jail singing "You're So Beautiful" is just so heartbreaking. It really brings home what's a stake for Cookie as she tries to catch up on all the time she's lost with her family. Yes! I loved that so much. The amazing support Jamal was getting from his family - and the crowd in general - just makes me laugh at Lucious' bitchface through the whole thing.
  2. Random thoughts after a re-watch: -I love that Michaela quoted a court case in her argument for why she should keep her engagement ring. Ha! -Did they at least give Rebecca food and drink while they were holding her captive? -My money is on Laurel as Rebecca's killer. -I really liked these episodes - esp. the second one. -When Annalise says, "We're not monsters; we don't tie people up and hold them against their will," I cannot believe that Rebecca didn't say, "Uh, yeah you do." -The case of the week was the weakest part of the finale, BUT I think it was supposed to mirror the mindsets of the main characters. Fr. Crawford felt he was justified in killing that other priest. Annalise and the K4 have been justifying Sam's killing to themselves all these weeks. -Poor Rudy. What Rebecca did to him really was cruel. Is this the last we've seen of him? -And Poor Nate. That guy's been through the ringer. If he gets off for Sam's murder, he should probably move far away from Annalise. But he should still be shirtless. -The final montage really is great. Now what, indeed! IA. Annalise & Sam seemed to have had a complicated relationship, but that doesn't mean they didn't love each other. Yep. The character Annalise most reminds me of is Don Draper.
  3. Lila's killer speaks ETA: Charlie Weber and Viola Davis on S1 finale and possibilities for S2 This was my favorite response by Viola (emphasis, mine)
  4. Cole scooping up all those tandoori skewers was the best. I laughed out loud at that. I need to re-watch this one, as the timey-wimey stuff was doing my head in.
  5. When I first watched Star Trek as a kid (my dad got me watching the syndicated reruns in the 80s), I found Spock a bit intimidating (scary, even) but also intriguing. Over the years, as I grew to love the Star Trek franchise, Spock became my favorite. I was absolutely delighted to see Nimoy on Fringe and in the most recent Star Trek films. He's a legend and will be missed.
  6. Right there with you! I've enjoyed Wes the whole season, and I was worried for him the last few episodes. Loved his final scene with Annalise!
  7. I'll rephrase (oooh, I feel like a lawyer saying that-lol). Even though Wes struck the blow that killed Sam, the others were obviously involved in the cover-up, so they're all feeling guilt for their particular roles.
  8. I need to say a word about Michaela and Laurel. At the beginning of the season, I didn't find either one too interesting, but boy has that changed. After tonight, I am intrigued with where they take Michaela next season, now that she's no longer engaged nor trying to be the perfect preppy princess (I hope!) As for Laurel, her dead-eyed stare apparently hides the heart of someone as ruthless as Annalise. She and Frank may be a perfect match after all. I won't be at all surprised if Laurel killed Rebecca. Then again, knowing this show, it was probably Rudy, escaped from the mental institution and wreaking his revenge on Rebecca. ETA: It felt to me like the K5 were scapegoating Rebecca in response to their own guilt. If she killed Lila, then she set in motion all the events of Murder Night #1 (Night of the Flying Cheerleader), and they get to absolve themselves for killing Sam.
  9. Cold. Laurel is ICE cold. Every bit as cold as Annalise. So, Frank was the enforcer/muscle for both Keatings. What did Sam mean when he told Frank "you owe me?" I see more flashbacks in our future :-) I love Wes & Annalise together. Their relationship is just fascinating to me. If Annalise & Frank offed Rebecca, I assume Wes will be out for revenge. I cannot believe I'm about to type this, but I felt bad for Rebecca. When they were all ganging up on her, and she had this look of horrible realization that Wes no longer believed in her. Don't get me wrong: I won't miss her, but I did feel bad for her in that moment. So much to process. I will have more thoughts later.
  10. Poor Andre. I worry for him in the next episode.
  11. I may or may not have danced in my living room during that scene.
  12. I really needed Vernon (aka he who saved Lucious from a murder rap) to punch Lucious dead in the face. Can that happen in the season finale?
  13. Felt so bad for Andre. Lucious stays being an asshole. Also, GO JAMAL! ETA: The sight of Hakeem in church praying for his father warmed my cold, cold heart.
  14. Echoing both tmelange and CofCinci - I wasn't prepared for how heartbreaking that flashback is.
  15. Cookie's best looks courtesy of BuzzFeed I may or may not have started looking for a leopard print dress.
  16. I don't want Wes to be Annalise's son, and I don't want them to be lovers. I think it's much more interesting if she's his mentor/Svengali. That's a type of relationship we don't often see on television.
  17. I've always been intrigued by Michaela - especially when we learned via her fiance's mother that she came from humble beginnings. Likewise, she made a seemingly throwaway comment to Connor about being able to reinvent herself if they confessed because she done it before. I enjoyed her in this most recent episode ("Mama's Here Now") I found her concern for Nate quite poignant.
  18. Watching this, I was worried Cole was going to get shot, but then I reminded myself that he's already recovered from a couple of gun shot wounds.
  19. Just think how I feel. I'm still waiting for Olivia to find out that Fitz was the one who revealed her identity as his girlfriend to the media at the end of season 2.
  20. I could totally see that. The preview definitely hints that Anika has something up her sleeve. I'm also intrigued by the preview of Jamal warning Cookie to steer clear of Lucious. I wonder how Cookie will respond to that.
  21. I think I'm done* I was tired of Huck in season 2. I just don't see what else they can do with this character. Originally, I thought he was going to have some sort of redemption arc. Now, I'm not even sure that's possible. Fitz & Olivia have had some variation of the convo they had in this episode since the beginning of the series. Shonda needs to put them together or split them up for good. *Although I say that every week, and every week, I watch. I think I just watch so I can come here and bask in the beautiful snark.
  22. Why didn't someone tell me that the Wall Street Journal was doing an IPO reality check review of Empire!
  23. Aaron: I'll cover you. Cole: Don't do that. Ha! What a team those 2 made. Alternate reality Ramse was cool. I guess we now know how much long-term damage all the splintering is doing to Cole.
