  1. This show reminds me of season 3 of Continuum, where I didn't understand what was happening a lot of the time, but I still loved it. And when I re-watched it, I was able to understand all the intricacies, it was even more fun. Looking forward to doing that with this show.
  2. Upon my re-watch, I loved the drunken Cookie scenes even more, although I too am wondering how she sobered up so fast when she got back to Empire HQ. ETA: If this must be, why can't it be Lucious? He is so ghastly to everyone in his life, it's like he's asking to get clobbered with the nearest blunt object?
  3. I know this wasn't the main focus of your post, ruby24, but I wanted to respond with a big YESSSS! to this part. This is the main reason I can't stand Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle.
  4. I like that this show continues to surprise me. So, Cole ended up in 2017 and the virus is still happening. I'm intrigued. I'm also intrigued to find out more about Jones. Love Love LOVE Ramse. Wonder if we'll see his wife and son again. Lots to process from this ep.
  5. I loved the red feathery jacket Anika was wearing when she first went to see Berretti.
  6. At Nate's arraignment, his lawyer said that his wife Nia was in hospice care, so I took that to mean that she was getting closer to death. I wouldn't be surprised if she just dies offscreen and we only get a mention of it next season. That'd be a bit of a missed opportunity. I love Annalise, but I wanted a least one scene where Nia gets to look daggers at her.
  7. I read this and literally yelled "YES!" with my arms in the air. What's wrong with me. I haven't been this giddy about a show since I don't even know when.
  8. I forgot to say how much I loved seeing the cereal-loving owner of Ghetto Ass Studio. I love that guy!
  9. This was another example of how this show can surprise me. From the previews, I thought that scene was going to end with the brothers just fighting each other. Instead, it turned into one of the most moving scenes of the series.
  10. For real! He mouths off to Vernon a lot for someone whom Vernon saved from a jail sentence!
  11. Like I said upthread - second week in a row of me liking Hakeem. What's the world coming to? Forever and always. I loved them both tonight! YES! That moment made me swoon!
  12. I loved Cookie flirting with Malcom. Previews for next week have me excited for what's to come with those 2!
  13. Tiana's back! Yahoo! Oooh, Cookie & Hakeem working together. Loves it! Also, this is the second week in a row I have liked Hakeem. Poor Andre. His breakdown was really hard to watch. I felt bad for Rhonda, too. She looked a mess. Loved seeing Estelle as Delphine. Also enjoyed that little impromptu performance at the club. I just really love how crowd-pleasing this show is. And next week,
  14. Scandal irritates me, but I would love this! And I too would love to see how Annalise and Nate met. She told Hannah they met when he was the detective on a case she was working. Would sure love to know the details.
  15. I love how she says "Hi, Grandma!" when Cookie walks in. So adorable!
  16. I've been thinking since the prosecutor showed up to Asher's door that some combination of the above would happen. Either Asher becomes suspicious of the K4 on his own and starts investigating, or the prosecutor sends him into action as a spy. They can't go another whole season with Asher completely out of the loop. The dilemma for Asher once he learns the truth about Sam's death will be whether to notify the authorities (thereby implicating Bonnie) or join the rest of them in their omerta.
  17. The show seemed to have backed off the Frank/Laurel romance. Which is a shame since these last couple of episodes, they've both been shown to be cold cold cold. They're actually made for each other, IMO.
  18. We've all asked the question: after all she's done to decimate his life, why does Nate still give Annalise the time of day? I mean, I ship the hell out of them, but even with my shipper goggles on, I'm wondering why he hasn't deleted her # from his cell phone and changed his own number. And moved. Out of state. Or out of the country. And changed his name. Anyhoo, what are everyone's guesses on how Annalise will get Nate off for those murder charges? I'm dying to find out who's on the other end of that 212 number Nate called at the end of the finale.
  19. I really loved the scene between Hakeem and Jamal at the church. It was nice to see them come together over mutual concern over their dad.
  20. I remember when Annalise was defending that kid that shot his abusive father, Laurel was excited that they had a client who wasn't reprehensible. That said, she was the one who stealthily let the jury in that same case know about nullification. So, Laurel started out a goody-two-shoes, but I guess, to your point, Azaelia, in the right circumstances, she's willing to bend/break the rules, as well as resort to intimidation and lying to get her way (she's basically been the enforcer for the K4 since Sam's death and the subsequent cover-up, making sure everyone in the group toes the line).
  21. Which is why the writers shouldn't have given the First Couple kids. The kids are pretty much just plot devices.
  22. You know, that is one of the few things I really liked in the mess that was the last few episodes.
  23. Thanks, aprilbabe. I read in the EW cover story on Empire that Debbie Allen directed the finale. Woot!
  24. I re-watched the episode today, and that last scene of Cookie in jail singing "You're So Beautiful" is just so heartbreaking. It really brings home what's a stake for Cookie as she tries to catch up on all the time she's lost with her family. Yes! I loved that so much. The amazing support Jamal was getting from his family - and the crowd in general - just makes me laugh at Lucious' bitchface through the whole thing.
