  1. I just hate the manufactured misogynistic drama. So many obnoxious comments about how women can't tattoo etc and the majority came from one guy - who should have been in the bottom and had to tattoo again IMO. I don't necessarily mind the women vs men - Ink Angels just proves how badass some women tattooers are. I just hate the producer driven smack talk. I want to see kickass tattoos and have them respect their fellow artists.
  2. I don't want the dang interpersonal drama - I just want to see all of the incredible talent and amazing tattoos! UGH! No wonder Grudge Match is a thing.
  3. That PISSED ME OFF!!! so not acceptable in any way. I already was frustrated with her as she seemed to out-due Paula Abdul with nonsensical praise. Then she did that and I am done with her. I ff-ed through any other times that she talked. So disappointed that she is who they picked - she even makes me miss Vanessa and I couldn't stand her!!! Dominic was better as a judge this ep than the first so I think that he will improve as the season goes on. I really liked the risk that Gianna took and am interested to see her move forward. Everyone else seemed more average and I don't think they should have let Caroline through. I did enjoy Samuel as I think B-boys tend to really grow well on this show if they are willing - and I bet with his wife being a Polynesian dancer that he could really be strong in partnering. So two audition eps and I am only intrigued by two dancers enough to learn their names. I also really would have loved to see the couple of guys' auditions that looked incredible that they montaged. The stage - audience pit is obnoxious. This is not world of dance and that is the part of world of dance I always fast forward through. I get not taking the whole show on auditions to every city. but then they should just do 1-2 eps of these auditions and then get into the academy so we can start to learn more about these dancers as we are learning about a bunch of average dancers now that I am guessing most won't make it through.
  4. While I am happy to have a break from Adam as I really think he was dragging the show down, I am bummed that they picked Gwen. I love her all the way back to the early No Doubt days so it is nothing about her personally. But she is not a strong coach. Her pitches are horrible (make me cringe) and she just doesn't build her contestants well. Maybe now that she is with Blake that will improve but I'm also not really sure I am up for 'couple antics' to replace the Blake/Adam 'frienemy antics' I am happy that they now have two women on the panel. And honestly, this was a good move as I am now interested to see the next season while before I was thinking of dropping my season pass.
  5. SAME! And then I saw that they are airing a Captain Sandy countdown of top moments. NOPE - cancelled that recording immediately!!! Why doesn't bravo get it and replace her? Or do they think that any talk is good talk?!?
  6. THIS is what angers me the most!!! There is no justifiable reason to use a floor leveling treatment on the walls when they can make paint any freaking color they want - that is what the random go to the paint store in-show commercials are for, right?!? I don't understand her obsession with attaching stuff to the walls that ruins the drywall. She is just plain rude and has become even more of a caricature. They need to drop her. I don't watch the show to see trainwrecks. I want to see cool ideas and fun affordable ways to upgrade a room in a short timeframe. Ha! But then she had to ruin the ceiling by hitting it with that small spot of the roller mid-day-2 when I thought the lighter grey was a lovely tone to balance the dark while adding color to the ceiling. Instead she had to make it all match and was obnoxious.
  7. Kudos for responding with such simple logic!!! And actually the simplicity of your answer may resonate far more than any further discussion which may have just caused defensiveness. I still remember overhearing at a holiday open house once, two white women in their 60s or so chatting. One was talking about the minority staff at her golf/country club and she asked the other something along the lines of "what do you call them at your golf club?" and my godmother looked point blank at her and said "Members." It was brilliant!!!
  8. Chris was definitely the winner of the three although I wanted Julie to at least get one vote. He played the game he was given but I hated that he basically had only 10 days of actual game play. The fact that he had all the time with the jury to forge bonds created such an unfair advantage. I also think that Gavin put his foot in his mouth when he tried to convince the jurors that he deserved it for not ever being on EOE. I think he should have focused more on never receiving a vote while being a part of many blindsides. I hate that we were down to two men and 5-6 women and then the finale was two men and only one woman. I really thought we had a chance to get a finale of all women. Unfortunately Lauren got played and if she had simply voted for Chris and used her idol the next day she would have likely been in the final three. She did admit that she got played so I was a bit surprised she voted for Gavin and not Chris. I didn't completely hate the idea of EOE but they definitely need to make changes. They should have restarted it after Devins made it back in. Or done it earlier to make it better match up with when they typically switch to solo play/start creating the jury. Then if they want to do a second round only use those whose torches were snuffed going forward and then let them back in sooner - the finale episode was way too little. I also agree that EOE should have had more mini challenges or actual incentives to raise the flag. They also need to cool it with the idols. I wish they would hide one at each camp at the start and that is that. If you use it in the beginning then there are no replacements. Or do more of hiding it in the challenges as I really liked that new twist when it started. I found it interesting that no one ever looked for clues during the rewards - maybe because they were already found?
  9. I used to watch this the day of and I have found eps building up and have even deleted some without fully watching - and I definitely ff through most of the filler. Maelynn was amazing and I hope she wins - but going against the country machine is tough. I wish they would revamp the voting. I think it should be that you get 20 votes total and can spread them out so it requires people to pick their favs to really support. I feel like the way that you can give any and every one 10 points compounds the problem and makes the country machine work. It used to be that country artists would split votes but it seems now that they all just get pushed through. I almost wish they were divided by genre instead of coach and the top of each genre gets through to the final (a la World of Dance type thing). No matter what something needs to change and the minimum of that is that is to drop Adam.
  10. Ugh. While the right person went home, I don't think the right person won. Hester's was not innovative or exciting or anything to me. I don't get what the judges saw in it. The only thing I can think of is that the producers want her kitsch to stick around and they know she will need immunity to justify keeping her through next week's elegant challenge. While Tessa bugs at times and they are definitely making sure to get her going in the talking heads - I thought she should have won. Especially when she unbuttoned the overall part and showed more of the tops. She looked strong and the clothes were cool. A pop more color would have been nice but could totally see that character in a game. I thought she was pushing the costume too far with the flour sack but it did actually work for the runway. My two favorite looks were in the middle/safe zone which annoyed me. And while I thought Garos' look was strong - I am so over the default dominatrix as empowering women. And editors, we don't need to see him repeat the nina and whip bit multiple times!!! every time he said it it made me cringe more. I like the older woman with greying hair but damn - she needs to get her time management together as this panic each week is getting frustrating. She does great stuff and just needs to focus on what she can do in the time. This one was more model fit related but the previews for next week don't bode well to see any improvement here
  11. I'm glad that this show is back and that is mainly for Sutton. Her take down of the older guy was brilliant - oh a wedding ring - that must not be going well - maybe you should do something about it. loved it! I didn't think Jane could annoy me any more than she already did but then she went and doored a cyclist and then yelled at him!!! City - cab etiquette is you always get out curbside, especially in NY with narrow lanes as other cabs could be the ones to run into the door - not just bikes. She was in the wrong completely. All cabs in Chicago have a sticker on the rear left door window saying to get out curbside and would bet NY does too. the new guy frustrated me as they threw in every cliche they could; biker, vegan, hipster, balance ball for a chair. I hope they tone him down just a bit because he is such a caricature. I also hate that they brought in a guy for a woman's magazine at first but actually think it could be a good storyline. We say we need men to be allies for change to happen so let's show what that actually means. I thought they showed the heartbreak well with Kat and liked where they were going with it until she did a fishlips selfie - really?!?! That olive garden commercial was so annoying and makes me want to avoid that. I am hating this new trend to get people to watch the commercial by making it seem like it is part of the show is infuriating. A study needs to be done as I wonder how much more that backfires and ends up being negative. Sure doesn't make me want olive garden ever again.
  12. I agree with most everyone's comments. I was sad to see Afa go because I wanted to see more from him. Kovid has had mixed reviews so far and I totally agree that the producer's need to cut it out with his background - we got it. now let him stand and continue on by the strength of his designs. I thought for sure Renee's was a bottom look so was shocked when it was a top. It does look like there were more details in how it was actually put together that just didn't translate on screen. I did crack up when I heard a judge reference Troop Beverly Hills - still one of my fav 80s movies!
  13. I was surprised that no one snapped the young girl up - of course she had nerves her first big battle - but that is something you can work on. Her voice was quite amazing. The trio - while I think they are talented - groups don't tend to do well as the show goes on. And I think if the one sister that got married and moved to Chicago was competing as a solo, she would go much farther in the competition. I actually thought being a trio hurt them during the battle as it wasn't as dynamic - just harmonious. I did love how they worked well to do the song justice without trying to overpower the little girl. I did like the comment of combining some of the battles about the first two guys and think that adding the girl to the trio would have been great too!
  14. Seriously!!! I was totally expecting her to get fired or suspended or something! Just getting taken off the case is so minor - and didn't she think originally it wouldn't go to her being the newbie?!? Just seemed like the director wanted more drama and had her react that way.
  15. I was so happy to see Nina West step up and win a challenge - and that runway!!! Loved her shaggy dog/mop look! She is a hometown girl and people love her here. I actually pass by large letter balloons "NINA" with a bunch of regular balloons with YASSSSS QUEEN on them - every day. My office is right next to an independent non-profit movie theater that has been airing the episodes. The Oddly girl (still trying to remember the names) with the pink body paint everywhere seemed so unnecessary but I do like that she calls people out for not owning their own shi*t. I wasn't sure about her in the previous episodes but I'm beginning to like her more and more each week. Their smoke break convo was perfect! I could barely watch the Mariah skit - I was right there with Ross wanting to cover my face that I ended up ff-ing through some of it!!! Poor Honey - she just wasn't quite ready for this. I wish she had added a wig and taken just the head covering off for the lip synch as I think that was also a huge part of how she didn't connect. And she was so desperate that I wasn't surprised that she went home.
  16. Naomi's crazy back bend to parallel in those crazy heels was insane!!!! crazy core strength and flexibility!
  17. Some info on the nail polish remover: https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/the-weird-change-the-roswell-reboot-had-to-make-from-the-wb-original While I understand that they couldn't do the branded hot sauce thing - what made that work before was that it was normal enough to use that it could get missed but the quantity and how they explained it in the original that it worked so well. Will see if they give more explanation of that in this one. I'm torn on this and will give it a few more eps before deciding. It felt so rushed without giving us a chance to care about anyone. And I can't quite tell if it is the acting or the writing/directing that is causing the problem. I do think that max and liz can work and build on the chemistry - but I also agree that Max should be much more together and mature considering that he is 28...
  18. I was seeing John's proposal as buying her time for Jamie and Claire to find and bring Roger back. I really hope they don't go there with them actually marrying. The timeline thing is confusing. They said that the Mohawks had a week on them when they decided to track them down. Then they just now found the body of the one captive and said he had been dead a month. So how is it possible that they fell that far behind when all were riding compared to the mohawks who had some walking and were slowed down by the one captive until he died. Shouldn't they be gaining or at least maintaining the distance between them?!
  19. The best part of the whole episode was Miss Bunny dying again at the end - "Let me see if I get this right... Miss Bunny... Miss Bunny... Miss Bunny" Tears were rolling, I was laughing so much!!!
  20. I completely agree!!! I may delete my season pass to this and just keep the Ink Master Angels one - I love seeing the artistry and all the different styles that have evolved but am over the contrived rage and confrontations. I hate seeing them try to make others fail and ignore the fact that someone is going to have to live with this tattoo - I am glad that for the most part they don't have the canvases there for the obnoxious critiques.
  21. You are right - I did blank on that - but I was still impressed that it was Josiah who gave the Cap the rundown and Kate that brought the lifering. Ross does seem to have a good head on his shoulders and is a much better bosun. I can't even imagine if this had happened on Chandler's watch.
  22. One of the things that I am surprised that no one has mentioned yet (unless I missed it!) is that Josiah was the one who came out and did a detailed radio call to the Cap, letting him know who was overboard. Then it was Kate that you see heading to the back with the life preserver ring. So basically it was the interior that we see making the right moves and nothing from the deck crew.
  23. Caroline is so completely overwhelmed that it stresses me out to watch her. She did appear to radio the captain but didn't follow procedure with the whole "captain captain caroline" to initiate. she just mumbled. And isn't there a hose right by those stairs since it is where they bring equipment back on the boat and have to wash off the salt water? If she had actually gotten a hold of someone or been more aware of what was around her she could have snagged the hose and washed the glass off quickly. Chandler is an idiot whose experience has likely all been on his daddy's boat where he didn't actually have much responsibility beyond the title. He is completely inept at managing himself let alone others. I can't wait to see him be demoted or fired. I have never minded Kate - yes she has always been a bit mean girl - but her work ethic has always been top notch. This season I am loving her even more as she has an effortless calm. The other thing I highly respect that I have noticed on other seasons is that she never argues or feels the need to be right in the moment when things need to get done. She didn't correct Chandler when he told her to say please after she literally did. She also would let Ben give orders or have another stew handle something and Kate would just let it go and get it done. And I love the snarky recaps that she gives after! Wasn't it just last season that Kate requested help so that she could spend a non-charter day training her newbie staff? And Cap got temps to do the stew work prepping the boat. The problem is that Caroline is not retaining anything and Kate has superstar Josiah to help so it is not worth her energy. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that many Caroline conversations are far longer and most ended on the cutting room floor.
  24. I am sure so much of this show is producer driven which is obnoxious. I am sure they are encouraging them to vent, complain, rage, etc. It was actually refreshing to see the two coaches for once not at each other's throat and actually chatting and relating as kick ass tattoo artists. They are both so talented but the personas are tired. totally over it. I hate the stereotypical tattoo-covered rage/smack-talk that they force the show to be. Loved Anthony's zen attitude and wish they had more of that. Or that it was a bit more like FaceOff (miss that show!) where they respect each other and just want to do the best art for these people that are giving them their bodies to permanently alter!!! I actually enjoy Ink Master Angels far more than this show at this point. I have also found myself rolling my eyes more and more at the show after reading an interview that talked about how little the judges are there. So many times when Navarro is introducing the challenge and giving them the time warnings - they never show him and the whole room. It is just funky angles and close ups of Navarro and then panning the artists as they "react" but not shots of Navarro and the artists together. Once you start noticing it you can't stop. And now I feel bad to spread that but it is so annoying!
  25. While I think that that is a good point and I do think punishing the team as a whole has it's benefits, the reason I am more against it was that it was such a gut reaction after the fact and seemed a bit petty. If he had gone up to Ashton and actually said something to the fact of "the later you make us stay, the earlier I am going to start the day" or even just set some rules beforehand, I wouldn't have had as big of an issue with it. This was a unique time where only one person wanted to stay out. They have split up before but never left anyone alone which I appreciate that they lingered. But am shocked that the whole group didn't corral him sooner. How obnoxious!
