  1. I was surprised that Mel skated by with no criticism aired - the edit completely skipped her?!? I wanted to hear them say something about the straight up copying. Hers was way too literal in my opinion and not much creativity. I like her so I hope she makes up for it in the next round. I don't mind the battle royale set up because (as some have already stated) you still get the top look in the top and the worst look in the bottom. Unlike in teams where a killer makeup can be completely dragged down with the team and not get a chance for the winning spot.
  2. I totally fast-forwarded through Quest's back story as I do most of them if the remote is in reach! So totally missed the gimmicky intro and was purely enjoying her run.
  3. Well I will say this for Miss Vangie - no one will ever forget her name!!!
  4. Seriously! I forgot to comment on that but I was cringing through the whole shrimp boot run as his friend held them up - They looked alive but they were not moving or shifting at all!!!
  5. If that is true than that just makes me do the biggest eye roll!!! ugh. I understand that they think nicknames really sell the competitors but at times I just want them to stick with their actual names. I completely agree about Kacy! She was the pioneer so I understand her "value" but they could have just acknowledged her in the audience and that would have been great. They have been forcing her on us way too much! Let her and us move on!!! And the focus on Brent's shirt and their past dog - they haven't done any sort of foundation or anything right? They are just memorializing him? Another part of the Brent/Kacy saga and how they are exes that they don't need to bring up every darn time. Friends and business partners are enough! I always felt bad for how much they harp on those stories - especially the climber whose fiance died where every year the focus was on how he lost his fiance. I was so glad when he finally was able to move on and had a new girlfriend to support him so nbc would drop that backstory.
  6. Unfortunately I have a feeling we will get to a point of missing "Naviti Strong" next season. shudder!
  7. that was an interesting episode. I could have done without the whole first half. the stories were over dramatized with reenactments and then we had a teen pageant queen and the dallas cowboy cheerleaders literally walk "their" contestant on to the platform?!?! I'm all for cheering and am excited to see their work colleagues support them but it just seemed way too staged and sensationalized when I watch ANW purely for the course and athleticism. That is what the sidelines are for. Did we really need to see a priest do a handstand walk down the aisle of his church and then genuflect as they put graphics up around him with his name? It just left a bad taste in my mouth. then we get to the second half - and my new fav contender - Quest!!! Yes!!! what a badass competitor! I literally shouted out loud after every obstacle that she passed. I haven't been that excited to watch a run in a long time. It was good to see us larger women represented and done so well!!! I loved how excited Akbar was about her run too!!! I was glad to see Brent again but seriously wish they hadn't had Kacy on or at least not talking through his run. I'm over her. Maybe if they hadn't kept bringing her back out every single special then I would enjoy seeing her again. And I assume that the athletes can hear the commentary as they compete. just what you want to hear right as you are about to do an obstacle is your ex saying how you are worried about that one! Daniel Gil - damn that boy can run a course! and then up that mega wall - impressive! although what is with the Kingdom Ninja nickname? When did that happen and what the heck does it mean?
  8. I was annoyed by the blonde but also felt sorry for her. I wonder if there were some eating disorder tendencies going on. A lot of excuses why she wasn't eating, contradictory statements trying to justify it, and getting really upset when every one focused on her plate/what she said about food. Just sent up a bunch of red flags to me. Or it could just be that she was drunk and out of it. I mean they did have to wait extra long for the nuts to start soaking up all the alcohol that they were drinking.
  9. wow. just. wow. I feel stupider having read that.
  10. Apparently it is something the charter guest posted to social media - after watching the ep she said that she realized that she had covered half the tip. There's a link near the top of this page to a twitter feed that posted it. Or maybe the main charter guest only gave a portion of it to the crew and pocketed a bunch of it!
  11. Here is a link: https://www.hgtv.com/shows/live-in-verns-house/relax-at-vern-yips-florida-beach-house-pictures
  12. I'm still watching but there has been something screwy where my tivo doesn't record the new episodes. They say they are new but they are listed as season 2 ep 1 every time so my tivo thinks I have already recorded it. I have had to manually add the show to record each week which is frustrating. I don't get how my tivo can record every version of a project runway ep but can't handle this when the episode names are different. frustrating!!! I see glimmers of why I loved the show in season 1 and think that this latest On Location one felt a bit more like it. So glad to have her old agent back. I love that actress. And am intrigued that the agent knew it was a relationship audition!
  13. Well Alexei was cut so no longer a contestant - not that that has stopped her before. August was with Serena. She wasn't going to touch the douche-Brit and no interest in the firefighter either. She was flying high after supposedly cutting off her family and wanted to get some. Didn't surprise me.
  14. I loved Ty's room. I loved the accent wall and that he did it to JUST ONE WALL!!! (Hildi take note!) I am not a fan of orange and yellow but those little hits worked well. I loved the pillow fabric. I would have just kept the curtains simple and not painted them and I probably would have just done a simple carpet with out the accent colors - maybe in the rich blue from the pillow fabric. But overall I really liked it. I thought it was smart to build the long wall shelf/desk. The table could have been a little bigger but it probably fit in the budget and is easily something to swap out later. I have chairs similar to those white ones and they are actually fairly comfortable. I also really liked that he made the effort to get them a large couch that filled the space and used a thrift store find. To me - that is what this show is about! I also like the shelf system that helped divide the room from the kitchen while remaining low and open. He really made the most of his $2k and it showed. I agree with Paige in that it is one of my favorites. Carter's room. Well I hate pink so there is that. But I really did like his ombre concept and would consider doing something like that in a small room. The problem I had with this one is that he doesn't have a design eye for scale and filling the room or the walls. I liked the idea of a day bed but he kept calling it a trundle which is when there is a second bed underneath that can be pulled out. So was it a trundle or just storage under it? It was way too high if neither!!! I am guessing a decent portion of his budget went to a mattress?!? His room definitely didn't feel like $2k was spent. This room really needed a comfy chair to go with the wayfair ottoman that was picked out. The little floor things did not work at all with the super tall bed. There was nothing in the middle. Also thought it would have balanced better if there were identical end tables on either side of the bed. The white one on the left seemed to fit better. And maybe a tall bookcase by the desk to give some height. The other problem is that he needed a larger piece of wall art/decor. He tried to fill the wall with those little flower things and it didn't work. I think he had some good ideas but he just didn't know how to balance the room out. I would be happy to have Ty design again but Carter should stick to the carpentry!!! I am excited to see all the Joanie stuff - I had no idea what happened to her after ANTM and am really impressed. Makes me want to dig up some of her youtube vids and such.
  15. I physically cringed when I saw the Ponderosa ad right after the ep - those poor jurors!!! And there is no way I am watching his solo ponderosa videos!!! I'll wait until the next elimination - unless it is Kellyn - then I will skip again!!!
  16. What bugged me the most about them keeping Jeana (or however you spell it!) is that the whole cast walked in the runway show anyway. Pervy designer still got to see her again and have her walk in his clothes so why the bs about keeping her? She should have been long gone.
  17. I'm already sick of seeing her on the show - there is NO WAY I am googling those!!!
  18. exactly - they can only edit what they get so of course it happens. I just think that the producers totally help some of those situations happen with a simple "can you believe she did that to you?"
  19. The whole Jeanna/Khrys stuff is getting annoying and while I do think what you see is what you get - I do continue to wonder how much are the producers getting into their heads. They want to play up this tension between them so having Jeanna shift closer to the set while Khrys was modeling only can help. Also makes you wonder if that is why she was added into the scene in the video shoot. And I'm sure they only help the paranoia. Just over it. I miss when this show actually had more insight into the modeling world instead of just being big brother-esque. I really liked the Make Me a Supermodel with Tyson Beckford and wish that had been the show to continue on but I guess everyone prefers the trainwrecks.
  20. I really wish that the tribe swap had ended with the Naviti 5 together on one team with 2 Naviti and 3 Malalo on both the other ones - that would have helped shake things up!!! And actually would have made something interesting happen at tribal council. I do like that I don't truly hate any of the competitors. Chris is an obnoxious narcissistic bro but is damn entertaining. I am ready for both Bradley and Kellyn to get knocked down. But overall I am glad to not have someone there that makes it hard to watch because of how despicable they are.
  21. I cringed when watching that - While she does have similarities as both Melissa and the Indigo Girls have a bit of folk/country in their voices and the storytelling for sure but it did seem a bit more linking their LGBTQ status then their singing. Producers didn't help if they omitted the Patty Griffin part or is it just that Molly didn't include it in her post? I'm sure Kelly meant no offense by it and it's hard not to compare and link with similar artists. I really liked Molly and their performance and was sad to see her go. And I hate country music. But it was so damn beautifully done. Molly's twitter response seemed fairly thought out and not to gut reaction/chip. I think the labeling box is out there and it is tough. and a good conversation to be had. I would maybe have not put small-minded in there though. I thought Kelly's response was a bit extra defensive but was also fairly straight forward and simply explained her thoughts.
  22. This ep made me realize how much I miss Nigel!!! But of course they focus on the fact how dreamy he is aka Erin's reaction (granted he is dreamy!) in the edit as opposed to his interactions. I remember when they would direct the models and actually show it. I knew instantly that this would be the shoot that they would bring back. I just hate that they paired them up. These should not have been group photos. Too many factors that muddied the images and the impact. I actually like Eva back in her season so it was fun to me to have her back. And I liked the idea of having her in the shoot but then they shouldn't have done pairs with her. Even then, I feel like they used to show each model's best picture and then the best overall. Now more than ever I feel it is overly produced which photo they show to tell the story. I wish they would show multiple photos because one that Tyra loves doesn't always resonate with the other judges. While I am not a fan of bringing back eliminated contestants - at least they were challenged twice to get in not just picked by social media or some such nonsense. But Rio really let it get in her head - which again I am sure is needled/poked on by producers to make it 10x worse for better tv. The ridiculousness of the runway show - if that was for real you know they would give the models time to practice and get the hang of those dang inflatables before being in the show. Obstacles just to be obstacles instead of letting people shine are annoying. Glad no one fell! I just want Khrys to succeed in life - whether she wins this or not I hope a good agency takes notice and snaps her up and gets her working.
  23. THIS!!!! This bugged me so much - ok maybe a bedroom door gets left open but the front door of the main house?!?!? REALLY?!?!? This pissed me off even more than the "infected" weapons.
  24. I think that was feathers from the pillow fight not food - in one of the takes she blew them out more but the final take had them just fall out of her mouth.
  25. The two month jump was so f-ed up. and no resolution to that bit. I took the scene as Lisbeth being brainwashed/hypnotized. it was so specific. and bizarre. and then just dropped. I am hoping we get a flashback to explain it. We also never got anymore of her lawyer friend out at the other place. so lots of loose ends after this ep.
