  1. That was such a painful ep to watch. Trejo was definitely the best part of the episode!!! “Vanjie” while walking backwards had me rolling! Otherwise it was such a miss. The whole script didn’t work at all. The 2nd best part was definitely the door slam. mistress annoyed the crap out of me - her “I’m so understanding” over and over. If you have to tell people that multiple times, you probably actually aren’t! If the whole metal part was truly just a joke, which it wasn’t, they let it go way too far. I would have also been frustrated if I had been the other team. They weren’t budging. And to me it was a bit of bully behavior to get it your way. And instead they went for gaslighting/switching the argument around to say how dare you say it is bullying instead of just listening to how the others felt, apologizing without caveats and move on. Ugh. back to this ep. The runway was great. The only outfit I didn’t love was Mistress’ puffy diaper. I think if she had gone for the puffy up top and sleek panties with the chaps which were good, I think it might have been better for me. And I’m so glad that they finally said something about Spice doing the same runway walk every time. Michelle was shooting daggers with her eyes when she left the runway at the end with it. It is such the sugar and spice thing going right along with the airhead head tilting thing too. That dumb bit is funniest when you actually show smarts with it. And it’s like they just rest on being cute so they don’t have to try harder. and the whole educational moment thing - well then stop doing immature stuff that warrants it all the time!!!
  2. I second the earlier comment about how they should realize they can vote out some white men too. Ugh.I was hoping the underdogs could turn it around. I also hate the whole justification because she is smart. She’s been on the outs for multiple votes and hasn’t won a challenge so it seems like silly justification to protect their strong bro alliance. I’m losing interest as all the ones I like are getting sent home. james telling Owen that he’s protected at the challenge made me instantly dislike him. I wish that they had targeted him instead of Ryan and with more subtlety. ryan I felt bad for until his condescending comment on how Jeanine should learn to become more of a leader when voting. Ugh. just ugh.
  3. haven't read comments yet as I'm typing while watching finally... Alexis and Keaton - bollywood - fun number! good opener. thought alexis was stronger especially with her arm movements. she was just sharper really hitting each shape deliberately. Keaton did a good job but definitely would boost alexis in my rankings Alexis and Essence - contemporary - thought it had promise watching the studio sessions and then the song started. it was such the wrong song! The choreo didn't match at all and would think that would make it really hard to lose yourself into the dance. Honestly don't remember much of their actual moves as it was mostly tulle and wind. ugh Essence and Robert - hip hop - glad to see all stars but don't really remember Robert - was fun - found myself watching Robert more as it seemed more smooth (weird to say for hip hop) and effortless. Essence did fine but meh. Keaton and Audrey - contemporary - beautiful lifts and choreo (go Robert!) well done by Keaton but there is something still not clicking with him for me. Alexis and Kiki - argentine tango - Kiki is one of my least favs of all the ballroom all stars so meh - did highlight alexis well - could have done without the accordian but I just didn't get into it - something was off with the pacing of the routine to me. but that just might be that style. appreciated twitch kinda bridging the gap and making a reasonable judgement and helpful comments. Keaton and Essence - jazz - of course essence is a rapper? Love to see Eleanor again! was generally good - high energy. had some rough transitions. essence was stronger generally but she had points where she gets caught prepping for what's next and loses me(jojo just be quiet - geez) So Keaton and Alexis are in the finale. I think that was the right choice. I think they definitely had the best dance of the night. overall notes - liked that all the allstar dances were in their style so gave them all equal shots to really shine I really miss more interaction with the choreographers - now they just give them cheesy sound bites like "there is no room for error" and Cat no longer highlights their name when introducing the next pairing. I loved seeing them really talk through steps with them and seeing more of the process seriously jojo - are you auditioning for My Little Pony or something? while I understand her fan base is very young - this seemed extra pandering and was just odd to me. granted everyone should where whatever they love and more people should have fun with it and care less what people think so... thank goodness for twitch - I really wish they had more seasoned judges - I miss the days that they would rotate in the choreographers. this season went so fast that I still barely feel like I got to know the dancers well and just feel meh overall. I also don't really recall any specific numbers that I want to rewatch.
  4. Not sure I’m liking this new format. I hope that the next episode will include the time with the choreographers and it wasn’t included this time due to announcing the top 12. I love seeing the work that goes into it and hearing from the choreographers. Some of these choreographers were a little weak and wasn’t sure if it was the choreo or the dancing. I liked the way they did it before where announcing the cast was then a focus on their own style. Helps you get to know them more. Glad they didn’t send anyone home - although was in agreement on who should be in the bottom. regarding the audience voting - that is fine by me as it doesn’t make them wait to come back the next week only to be eliminated first. strange to have the group number last. will have to see how next week is set up as this seemed so rushed and the season will be short with only 5-6 episodes left to get down to final 4/2. Hope they find a better balance as it feels like a shell of the show and what made it great before. Wondering if they struggled to get choreographers to commit time again
  5. Just saw that this was coming back in time to turn it on. 5 mins in and I’m already super annoyed with JoJo and her constant shouting and look at me me me overexcitement. I actually may miss the hot tamale train and was so over that. 14 mins in and have seen one dancer. This doesn’t bode well about them keeping the auditions short. Seems like they are trying to match the voice with even more backstory and judges backstage and other snippets. I just want to see the dance!!! Interesting that it is all at the LA stage. So no auditions at different cities. Does that mean they have already done a first round of auditions to get to this point? Maybe they will be smart and keep the auditions to a minimum. I hope that they still do their LA/dance week with all the choreographers. the Afro-dancer was amazing and so much fun to watch - he has the personality to do well on the show. I really don’t care that the 18 yr old likes fast cars. Weird thing to focus on but she was fun to watch dance and agree that wade robson or Sonya would be a fun choreographer for her to work with. I wish we could see them dance first before all the background stuff. I wanted the Russian to be better - So was glad that they passed for now. She popped way harder in her battle. She needs instruction and a choreographer. A lot of background for that and all the boxing footage? love the couple - liked the white stripes for a ballroom number. She definitely seems a bit stronger than him. Can understand them passing on the guy. Loved Macey’s (sp?) audition. Loved when you thought it would be a typ contemporary dance and then the isolations. wish they had a preview or had given us any idea how the next few eps will go. Not sure Matthew adds much as a judge. But happy to have twitch and cat back. Although they seemed to minimize cat when she used to be a big part of chatting with them amidst auditions instead of all the back stories and I miss that.
  6. Regarding the shellfish shell allergy but not the meat and all the other comments talking about similar experiences - wondering if it is similar to to Oral Allergy Syndrome. I am allergic to ragweed so when it is in season, the rinds of honeydew and cantaloupe will make my lips tingle so I have to cut off the rinds and not eat wedges. Also have to avoid chamomile and sunflower seeds then too along with a few other things that will irritate my throat. It's something about the pollens being similar that the body has a reaction as if you were exposed to your allergy pollen. So for those saying that it's not legit - please don't discount someone's allergy experience just because it doesn't match yours or someone you know. All bodies react differently and allergies can have many different levels of severity. Back to the episode more specifically - I was ok with Sam going. He should have owned up to leaving the potatoes on the stove and that may have saved him. they will overlook some mishaps if the intent was clear/correct. But I am also ok with him going. The overly excited/happy was starting to get annoying and I can only imagine it being worse in the high pressure kitchen. Overall I really like this group of chefs and am intrigued to see what is next.
  7. I see your point too and agree that Sandy wasn't micromanaging in that one instance - however at the beginning she basically negated any of Katie's concerns and didn't listen. So why would Katie feel like she could really talk with her about it or get any support? I feel like Sandy intervenes/micromanages when it isn't necessary and tends to miss when it is. She somehow always manages to like the most hated crew member because they suck up to her. At least she finally fired Lexi, which I think Katie would have done after the first night as it was evident how toxic she was to the whole crew.
  8. YES! From the start, Sandy shut down Katie and never even let Katie tell her about the first night. Instead she invited Lexi right in when it should have been a discussion with just Katie first. Katie has always tried to look out for the boat as a whole and was trying to avoid the toxic situation that they ended up with. Sandy was all about not firing someone (maybe because she was trying to avoid all the Hannah backlash?) and once again does the absolutely wrong thing. She micromanages and yells at the wrong people and times. While I think Katie needs to build some confidence and harder edges to be a great chief stew, I actually think she does a generally good job. She wants to work with the right team that gels and builds the whole group up. Meanwhile Sandy tries to also be buddy buddy and always chooses the worst person to be buds with on every charter. And then ignores all the ones who are doing all the extra work. I agree - I think Courtney will make a great manager for that very reason. She is willing to shut it down. You know Kate would have shut that down and yet it was always the deckies or Courtney trying to deescalate any Lexi or Mat situation.
  9. Meant to type Kevin - too many thoughts while watching this! :)
  10. Except that the gun was the one that Patty and Allison got on their crazy road trip. Kevin just found it buried in the yard - so I'm guessing there will be legal issues when the gun isn't registered and maybe even tied to other bad things. I agree but I wonder if she isn't considered a suspect. Just a witness to the take down. I hope that the cop isn't just dating her to get info. But I agree that no matter what Patty is likely going to get hurt. I'm curious if they would do anything beyond confirming that she was there for an appointment. Can cops demand that doctors violate HIPPA? And that secretary won't remember. she was way more into whatever she was looking at on her computer. They will just be able to say yes - she was here for an X:00 appt. Maybe I am thinking too much on this. Also - in some ways - Neil and Kevin seeing the pamphlets and Kevin getting tested actually supports the happy marriage ideal that Allison was trying to establish. It's not as one sided. This does present issues because I agree that Kevin didn't get shot so will see if Kevin then starts pressuring Allison to have a kid. Edit - corrected it to say that Kevin found the gun which is what I meant but for some reason typed Nick. Oops!
  11. She definitely wasn't a sous chef. Sous chefs have skills. As @Back Atcha mentioned, she specifically said she was an assistant when she came on board and talked to Yawn. Considering that the two boats were in the same bubble, and that it sounds like that may be the boat with the crew, there was definitely some producer fun going on there. That or the other boat was all - send her - so that they didn't have to deal with her for a bit. She was completely clueless to not even get steak right. I also find it funny that Yawn thought another boat would give up their sous chef for a night!!! Also didn't yawn talk about how she really helps out when it is needed on the last season? She didn't seem to really help out that much. she didn't even delegate well. She is such a bad leader that all her talk about mentoring made me LOL.
  12. Wow - I may actually watch it based on your comments about sandy getting hosed!!! :) Was thinking I would skip as I can't stand Sandy or Malia.
  13. ugh. I don't want any more new streaming services - might wait until they are all up and then do just a month to watch this and the updated Real World NYC
  14. Columbus represent!!! I was so excited to see a chef from Columbus but was not aware of his restaurant. And I live relatively close to it! The menu looks so good! Unfortunately I have been dealing with food intolerance issues lately so my minimal diet does not work well with eating out. Boo! Some day - for now I just hope that he can rebound from the first ep and do well on TC
  15. it was an hour of finishing up the blinds and everyone filling their teams and then an hour best-of. Which I turned off and didn't watch.
  16. I do completely agree. She could have at least tried and not made it such a joke from the start. Unfortunately two wrongs don’t make it right. He was doing the drill sergeant type trainer and that doesn’t work for everyone and would actually piss me off. Especially considering she seemed to be very uncomfortable in that environment.
  17. the c-word is not considered as bad of a word in England and Australia - they use it as freely as sh*t and maybe b*tch and other words in the US. I thought Ning's comment was right on point when she asked him if that is how he treats his paying customers. She is not in any level of shape to do a full HIT/crossfit type workout. If he had done a workout "with" her and giving her scaled options and had fun instead of commanding her the whole time, it would have been such a better time. All I thought watching that was that I would never hire him as a trainer and I love HIT/Crossfit type stuff.
  18. I can kinda understand the fast track to sleaziness - Covid and quarantining and everything for 6-9 months leading up to whenever this was filmed. Honestly being single and living alone this past year has been rough!!! If I were young and carefree and finally got a bit of freedom again - who knows! So them having their first night with new people and alcohol and a hot tub - I get it. Will be interesting to see if it calms down a bit.
  19. I put this on in the background and found it semi-interesting but not too distracting while I got other stuff done. This could have been an interesting way to introduce the queens but the episode seems oddly placed here in the middle of the competition - let us get to the snatch game!!! a couple parts stood out - hearing about the death of Mona Foot (sp?) and the impact it had on the NY drag community early on in the pandemic. makes me want to know more about her. the part that hit hard was seeing the picture of Kimora on the plane heading to drag race with a mask that had "I am not a virus" on it.
  20. YES!!! This bugs me every time - she should know better by now. She also keeps doing these boob adornments that are too small - the headlights (and her horrible mardi gras cones last week) don't blend into the costume. They just look tacked on at the last minute. Its almost as if she is letting them create the boobs instead of wearing a bra/cutlets or whatever padding. If they were bigger and matched her proportions, her shoulders and her waist would seem smaller and help the silhouette.
  21. You could tell the drunk woman was an add-on and not a close friend by how much the other guests didn't give a single f--- about her. I will give her one thing - she was pretty skilled with the jetski! But back to the sloppy drunkenness - I am a strong swimmer and the last thing I would do if drunk is go swimming - especially in a dark ocean at night!!! Her crazy questions which her "friends" barely discouraged and everything - no one cared enough to help her. Just a random side comment to drink water and then a whole bunch of not my problem. I'm also surprised that they don't put a chain up or gate or something to block off the stairs to the stern platform at night. Re James not diving in and in no rush - he needed permission from the Capt to go in it seemed. I'm guessing there is a rule that states no swimming after dark that even the staff has to abide by. Francesca did try to stop her but wasn't able to quite reach her quick enough before she would have been pulled in too. What a mess. There does seem to be a lot of shade being thrown around about the hookup which is a bit obnoxious but you know is mostly producer driven with specific prompts. One of the crew summed it up well - was it Ashlynn? that Elizabeth is fully falling for him while James just had a little fun. This is not going to end well. Regarding Elizabeth and Francesca - While I think Francesca is a decent chief stew and totally back her on her frustrations. She doesn't seem to give specific criticism. Unless that is being edited out. Give her a list. Give her a time limit for a task. Give her some specific goals instead of just be better type stuff. I have yet to hear Francesca say to Elizabeth that you don't fully listen, I tell you X, and you take forever and miss stuff. On the galley talk ep Kate mentioned that she wouldn't have demoted Elizabeth but would have promoted Ashlynn - giving them both equal rank. so same results without the negativity of a demotion - which I completely agree with. I do think Elizabeth has ADD/ADHD which adds to the challenge so I would think she would do much better with lists and deadlines that will help focus her.
  22. I agreed - I was talking about both the music throughout the episode and the montage! Although I could have written it better to be clearer. the bad music choices kept pulling me out of the episode and made me cringe. seems like some budget constraints must have impacted their song choices - giving them the benefit of the doubt although I am not sure that is warranted.
  23. The music, that montage - it was HORRIBLE! It was like they tried to do an emotional wrap up a la Six Feet Under and failed miserably. The montage was choppy and seemed to be more of a bad dvd outtakes bonus. There was no flow, highlighted random characters that we didn't need to see again and blitzed through ones that I wish they had paused on. I have seen way better fan videos done with the basics of video editing. And I thought this must be the final episode until the stay tuned for scenes... and the music choice - now was the time to pull out Kansas or AC/DC or something powerful. Paradoxlost nailed it with the hallmark music comparison !
  24. that mug is doomed! Producer shenanigans to me are that at some point Izzy and Shane are going to get swapped. Izzy keeps talking about being on deck and Shane seems to spend more time with the stews then the deck crew at this point! Or maybe she just gets switched and they get a new stew now that Avery is gone. Especially since they usually always have one woman on deck. After last season, having an all male deck crew could be either better or worse.
  25. I went to see that tour too in late '95 although I was excited about seeing No Doubt and thought GooGoo Dolls were horrible! Just a Girl was my anthem! 🙂But the memory I have from that show was a couple who decided to go for it at the top of the bleachers - I was on the side mezzanine and had a perfect view as she straddled him. Lovely. So while I like Gwen/No Doubt - especially back in the 90's and such - I can't stand her as a coach. She doesn't really give them any strong help and focuses so much on the look. I also think her pitches are cringe-inducing. I really wish Nick was back - like everyone says, he really was there to coach them and help them be better. I really like that Fuel song and thought he did a good job with it and wish there would be more 90s rock mixed in.
