  1. Really sorry @Anela, to read about your troubles with the pets. I'm no help as I know nothing about FIV, but please know that I'm focusing good mojo in your direction. You can only do what you can do, so try not to destroy your own life over it. I'm saying this with all empathy and kindness, but I truly do believe that there are far worse things than ending the suffering of our beloved 4-legged (and even 2-legged) family. Not saying that your kitty is there, or should be there yet. I truly hope it all works out for the best.
  2. Don't you dare! Be assertive, kind, and persistent. If you're being reasonable (sounds like you are), then you have no reason to recoil. When necessary, let 'em have it! Never pays to be a doormat in these situations. They'll let you twist in the wind for as long as you allow it. I know you're neither of these things, just saying...
  3. I'm with you on yummy, also 'ooey gooey'. Unless you're addressing a kindergarten preschool class, please use adult adjectives. (shrinks) those are adjectives, right? lol
  4. I'm an OG Reese's gal. None of that other nonsense for me!
  5. I'm sure there are those that do all things from scratch. I'm not one of them. On some things, it wouldn't seem that the benefits outweigh the extra work and added expense. Jiffy muffins might fall solidly in that group for me. Go ahead and spend the buck! All scratch and no shortcuts make Jane /John a dull baker.
  6. Tried out a new marinade (for me) on a grilled pork tenderloin. It was good! 3T Honey - 3T Soy Sauce - 3T Worcestershire 2T Brown sugar - 2 Cloves minced garlic 2t ketchup 1/2t Ground ginger - 1/2t Onion powder 1/4t Ground cinnamon 1/8t Cayenne
  7. I've been reminding my husband of this all winter, when he celebrates the warmer than usual weather. We need the freeze to control the insect population and the cycle of such things. I personally don't consider this winter as being the new norm, as we've had plenty of warmer than usual winters in my lifetime, mixed in with unusually cold and snowy.
  8. That would appear to be exactly who the coverage is designed for. I found it amateurish and distracting. The broadcast crew wasn't nearly as entertaining (to me) as they seemed to think. The golf appeared to take a backseat to the production circus. I realize that everything about LIV is in its infancy, but the people aren't. Feherty has always been a C-level comic trying to pass as a journalist, and it appears that is why he was given a traincar-load of money. The Saudis will have a lengthy wait for ROI if what I saw was the product. Not for me.
  9. I have a tall, copper-looking mill I purchased from Crate & Barrel 25+yrs ago. Still use it, still works, but my gripe is an uneven grind. Maybe there is no avoiding this, but the pepper grains vary widely in size with each twist. I have been considring buying the one my pal (in my head) Jacques Pepin' uses: PepperMate+pepper+mill peppermate.com
  10. I would love this, but as usual, with any dish involving (most) vegetables, my husband wouldn't eat it, so I won't bother with it. ~sigh~
  11. post-millennials-go-first-social-media-news In her study, Rebecca C. Nee from the San Diego State University in California explores how the post-millennial generation navigates today’s digital media landscape. She finds that social media platforms are the first news source for this younger generation. While these consumers move away from Facebook and Twitter, the study says that they would still follow news stories on visual platforms like Instagram or Snapchat if the content is visually engaging. The fallout when your target demo just wants to look at the pictures.
  12. I bought a pair of Vionic slippers several years ago. When I first tried them, I thought no way!! Felt like I had a baseball under my arch. They will tell you to ease into them by wearing a few minuts at a time, then increasing that time until you adjust. I adjusted in short order and really like them! This is similar to what I have, and this is a really good deal! Think it's time for another pair, lol. I have worn through the fabric under my heel. Vionic-Slipper-Comfortable-Slippers-Three-Zone-Orthotic I would say that mine run just a touch big, mostly in width, but each style could differ. I don't wear socks, but if you do, they might be just right. Machine wash and dry with no problems.
  13. I think someone else mentioned, I feel like I get the air bubbles when I rush the dry time between coats. The reason I hardly have a decent manicure anymore; the 3-4 hrs required for adquate set-up time (I've always done my own).
  14. Absolutely gorgeous @CheshireCat! We sure have the talented folks here in our little corner of the internet.
  15. I assume you're referring to usages outside of the traditional definitions? If not, I'm confuzzled.
  16. Thanks for answering. I don't care for him much in either vocation, lol. I'll take CB before Jeff Burton. Lawd that man is twangy. When he and Junior get going, it's like whoa!
  17. Yes, I read that! Aftr having had the same position for two heads of state in France.
  18. One of my favorite IG follows, Jacques Pepin', a native born and classically trained French chef, was hired by HoJo in 1960 to develop recipes for their restaurants. He worked for them for 10 years. I only fairly recently became aware of this, and was sort of surprised. jacquespepin
