  1. My Texan mother always says a pee-can is what you'd keep under your bed to avoid running to the outhouse in the middle.of the night. ?
  2. The Swedish Ninja thing didn't bother me. There are people with Italian ancestry all over New York and New Jersey, Greek ancestry all over Chicagoland, Irish ancestry all over New England, etc. Some choose to live that ancestry loud and proud and some choose to put it in their back pocket. I know man who is half Slovak, you'd never know unless you ask, but there are people who choose to fly their ancestors flag in front of thier homes. (Shrug) Me? I'm total mutt. I actually have no idea what my ancestry is. I choose to not donate my DNA to 21 and Me or any of those other sites becasue I just don't care that much. I'm a damn American.
  3. This. Especially when Tyler, on other seasons of this show and other competition shows he's done (the food court at the mall show) seems to always harp on having a clear concept that relays what your food is and what the customer is expecting. He's a stickler for that sort of thing and to let the Moo Shu girls get off with no Moo Shu (is it Moo Shu or Mu Shu?)?
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Chop's Shop's sopapillas were nowhere near sopapillas. I'm no expert on Mexican food but the sopapillas I've had were always fried, puffy, and light, like airy donuts. I have no problem with their dish but I dislike when people mis-name things. It aggrivates me. That being said, I liked the truck and their food looked good.
  5. Boobweiser Beersiere I love Dwayne.
  6. Ok. I "male judged" him because I couldn't remember his name. Nothing personal. Besides, I don't think it is a slam to call him male judge because that is exactly what he is. The whole thing started because a contestants couldn't recall Hollywood's name at the time she was talking, she didn't even mean it as a slam. And I thought Khiem had a good story behind his terrarium and it fit the theme. It's all perspective and opinion but I thought his highways were awesome, appropriate to his hometown, and unique.
  7. Black Jewels. I wanted him to get past the boards, he had it damnit. I didn't like him at the beginning of his package but was cheering for him by the end of his run. Tears for Danny Bergstrom's story. He's smart and very efficient in his run. Well done. Jake Murray on a mission tonight. No goofin. Good to see him finish the course. I still maintain if you finish the course you deserve to have your whole run shown. Ian Dory has put in the time and deserves the cameratime, as do a lot of the vets they have WWWA this year. Gillette's run as an armored car driver didn't last very long at all. I think that was a big part of his package last year, and I think I saw it during N vs.N too? Morovsky is only 29? Looks much older. I would've swore he was mid thirties. I've never seen Jon Alexis Jr. without a shirt. He's nicely put together. Made the course look easy. I guess I always thought he would just be lanky with no real muscles that show...wrong. I usually hate grandstanding but I giggled at his wave to the camera during the spider climb.
  8. The Male Judge wants more surreal from Amber? So she gives him weird, kinda macabre mannequin hands but didn't the same judge knock Kheim for being dark when he did the abandoned highway craft? So, I guess dark and weird is ok for Valentine's Day but not a personal take on a terrarium? ? Etsy judge had on some "totally on trend" fringed earrings last night. Sure, they were WAAAAAY too big and kinda gaudy, but totally on trend.
  9. A View To A Kill is still my favorite. And I was going to marry John Taylor...ahhh youth. A View To A Kill is still my favorite. And I was going to marry John Taylor...ahhh youth.
  10. I find Nick Offerman delightful. His quest for meat was fun.
  11. I have no time, patience, or money for trends, especially if I buy them from some other crafter. Some of the "on trend" things I have seen online that people handmake are incredibly expensive (some, maybe, rightfully so, some are a total rip off). I think if you love pom pom, or tassels, or fringe, GO FOR IT. If you're decorating with those bobbles just to be trendy, I wish I had your disposable cash. Speaking of which. Why didn't Etsy lady mention the "totally on trend" fringe on the swinging seats?
  12. I thought the hanging seats were cool. If you don't have a tree big enough, build a pergola or some other sturdy structure. My kids would e loved them. The instruments were kinda lame but the ring toss should've saved her. The inner tube seats were uncomfortable (unless you are 5 years old) and not really that crafty. Honestly, the fabric just looked worn, I didn't read moon in them at all. And his activity, sorry but kinda lame considering he only had to treat the fabric and wrap the tubes. I mean, the one lady wrapped her stuff in rope but also made her giant Dominos and printed on her fabric. I just think moon guy should've gone home, but I think he's one of their favorites. I'm glad movie guy won. It would've been lame if he had just made the seating and then hung a sheet. He made the theatre too. Well deserved patch, IMHO.
  13. Random thought while watching... Dave Cavanaugh. Matt said "getting a wave from his wife", I heard getting away from his wife. Had to rewind to hear that one. He's one of the elites and STILL has to spend 22 days in a walk on line? Damn, give the man an invite next year. I guess if you don't live with Dreschel anymore you don't get a full time run, poor McGrath. And that hand pinch looked painful. Sassy recovery? Come on Akbar. Rahn went natural for his wedding. Interesting. He didn't look like himself, at least not how we, the viewers see him. Glad he hit the buzzer. Casey Rothchild. Sorry, not sorry. Didn't really like her earlier. Was it nerves or confidence that did her in? Lucas Reale. That guy is only 19? Looks at least 10 years older. He can buy the beer for The Kid. Surprised the knee guy (Kreglow) is not wearing some kind of brace. Bernardo just pisses me off. Too much BRO for my taste. Still, it's hard to see a vet not make it to the wall. Although, when he is being real, he does seem like a good guy. I wish he'd drop the sceaming and grunting. Najee is still one of my favorites. I like everything about him. He's easy on the eyes and seems like such a nice, compassionate, humble guy.
  14. I wonder if the receipe is an older one. Mary's been baking forever and I'd imagine she's a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" type of gal. The receipe may have been originally written before rubber spatulas were so common in the household.
  15. And the music.
  16. Um, no. That's Swaggy that had you.... Thank you. That was epic.
  17. I took it as she has had a lot of sex to try and find the "man of her dreams" until she explained her little joke to the cameraman. She's unfunny. I don't think you are going to find the man you want to be with, married to, and create a family with by simply going where your loins lead you, and that goes for both men and women. Sexual attraction is important but there is so much more. I come to this show every year totally unbaised because I don't watch The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. So, I am making my assumptions on who seems like a good guy/ gal on the material provided in this show. (Or other variations of BIP like Winter Games) Nick is an ass and can't seem to take a hint. Chelsea couldn't wait to get away. Joe (Chicago guy) seems great and tried really hard to chat up all the ladies right away, in a totally unsmarry way. Bibiana didn't strike me as oversexed on Winter Games but she came off that way here. If you are just in Paradise for a good time, admit it. She seemed to be producer favorite at the beginning of the episode and really faded into the background by the end. I don't think her uterus was tingling for anyone there. Chris seems just wrong. I don't know why, just didn't like him. Then to have his buds gang up on Colton? Guess we'll see that next week. The guy who lives with his mom and she waits on him hand and foot? Why would he think any woman with half a brain would be interested in him? Last thing I want to do is take care of Man-Boy. The women look so old. Is it just me? Angela is attractive but all the blondes are melding together for me. And none seem overly attractive. I've barely heard of Colton and Tia (read about the Becca thing when it happened in a news feed) but I knew Colton would be coming in after Tia hooked up. I thought it would be another week or two, honestly. Even I was sick of hearing about Colton by the end of the show. It's going to be "the thing" all season. At least Claire didn't come back again, or Sarah. Then again, they may show up in a few weeks.
  18. See,and I don't care about skimmpy outfits on the competitors either, unless they spend all their time adjusting their tops or pulling wedgies out of their butts. That's the problem I had with Alyssa two years ago. Not her outfit but her reaction to her outfit. I wouldn't ever try to run an ANW course in clothes I'd never practiced in. It's just dumb. I was saying today that if any of the "named" women ran the city finals course Kacy did, they would finish too, barring a slip or something like that. The women are running badass now and the courses are decidedly harder than when Kacy made history. I didn't laugh at Issac, but I smiled. I just think he probably thought he'd have it easy for at least two more buzzers. I liked the deaf Ninja but I don't think being deaf is so much of a hindrance on the course. Unless you DQ and don't realize it and don't stop running the course, that's the only set back I can see. Swanson's mom looks like a canary when doing the swan. She needs to loosen up her shoulders. ? Again with the WWWA crap for vets? Ugh. I'm surprised Patriotic Beard made it through, I thought he'd be below the 15. I wanted to see the Dog Walker make it further.
  19. Was that the season finale? Kinda lame if so. Christy needs to stay out of Tonya and Terra's issues. Tonya has explained herself and Terra has reacted, Christy should've excused herself and went elsewhere. Then again, if Terra didn't want anyone else's opinions, she should have had that conversation with Tonya in private. Terra was throwing all her bile at Christy because she didn't want to throw it at Tonya and risk Tonywa getting mad again. Tonya needs to get over this BGM thing. It's happening, with or without Terra. If she has a real issue with the name she should either talk to the person heading it (Terra's so called other best friend) or use her social media and outright condemn it. I don't think Tonya is acting like a woman in many aspects of her life. The issue with her daughter moving? Suck it up. The girl has a master's which means she probably about 25. Let her live her damn life without your guilt trips. And thinking that Elena didn't come to your launch because she was being shady? Maybe she really was sick? I don't know. Elena can be a shady bitch, but damn! Tonya needs to go shopping for some big girl panties. Oh goodie... Mika's moving to LA so her daughters can have a more inclusive upbringing (or just to be on the show next season). Yippie. Can't wait. Autumn is a turd. Not for getting a tattoo. The girl is over 18, she can mark her body any way she wants. My issue is calling her mom out of her girl night to come to the parlor to show her how adult and grown up she is now. I'm glad Christy didn't give Autumn the satisfaction of throwing a fit. Aside...why does Autumn know her mom has a tattoo in her private area? These are things that don't need to be discussed. Also, it bugs me that she says she's tattooed on her vagina. I doubt that. The vagina is interior. Not only would that hurt like a bitch but I can't imagine an artist wanting to get there for their art. The world now knows too much about Christy, way too much. Hope Jasmine is feeling better. I hope it wasn't super serious and she's better with some rest.
  20. I agree wholeheartedly with Lady Calypso...I don't care so much about Brett but I NEEEEEEEED Rockstar to leave before him. She gets my goat and I would love to see Brett one up her one more time.
  21. I was thinking more about the fact that all of the ninja gyms we see in the packages have ball obstacles. They may not be moving in the same way, but any ninja who trains at one of those gyms has opportunity to work with hanging balls. Also, I imagine most ninjas have watched previous seasons so they have studied the various obstacles. Like the Wing Nuts (THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE CALLED!!!!?). They totally messed up ninjas last year but I doubt they'd have quite the same effect this year because ninjas have studied them and created them in gyms now. Now, that doesn't take into account the ninjas who don't train in gyms, but it seems like most of them do.
  22. They could easily do a two or three day challenge for the longer crafts. I like the idea of each week being a particular craft. Like in GBBS, one week is bread, the next cake. Project Runway sometimes gives the contestants two days to complete a look. I also understand that something like woodwork is a totally different medium than paper craft or sewing. They probably went the "theme" route because some crafts are so specialized it's difficult to jump in a create something in wood when you have never used a router or jigsaw, dangerous too. Bread and cakes are different but in essence it's mixing different ingredients together and cooking them. Swimsuits and men's wear is totally different but it's all sewing. I don't know. I like the show. I think they could improve but I like it as is, for now. It's a newer concept and they can flesh it out in later seasons. Then again, we've only seen one episode...who knows what's to come.
  23. I have to say I loved this show. I giggled. I enjoyed the contestants. I liked the judges and felt they have cred. And I LOVED Amy and Nick. I never watched Parks and Rec so I had no idea about their chemistry but they really worked well together. Funny and sweet. The producers obviously took cues from GBBS and that we Americans wanted a similar "nice" show. It worked very well. I thought the turtle guy's quilt was the best. That was so detailed and amazing. I also liked the lady's wood quilt. So much work in such a short time. I liked Jemma. She was a sweet lady but it was right decision to leave. I just feel horrible that she cut up those pillow cases and then didn't even make it to the next week. Her decision, of course, but still made me sad for her. At least she got to have some wine with Amy and Nick, and she gets the bottom bunk. ?
  24. I think it's a shame that only, what, four people completed the course and we didn't see all of Stratus or Sims. Although we heard about the battle of the beards. It like a few weeks ago when they showed a vet (I commented on it then, can't remember now who or what city) all through the teasers, then just WWWA'd the poor guy. If ANW is going to use these guys to bring in whatever viewership they think they'll get, they should show the whole run. It's trashy tv not to. That being said, did Stratus have a beard the first seasons? I feel I've seen him without one. Maybe not? Drew seems more chill this season. I felt bad for him last year because he was driving so hard to win and didn't. He was so focused last year, totally different than years before. He seems to have backed off a bit in the intensity department this year. I was glad to see Kevin Carbone go down early. If I never have to hear that he designed the (sideways swinging nut things that killed so many ninjas on stage two last year) again, it'll be too soon. Glad to see two legit lady finalists. I teared up at the kidney donor Ninja. I remember his package from last year. Glad to see his daughter so healthy. Hope those other two kids get as lucky. The cannonball obstacle really killed ninjas this episode. So many just missed their landings. Surprising for an "older" obstacle.
  25. Thanks. I have that one on the DVR.
