But she didn't even look good at it. Seriously we couldn't even see much of her face and it was like you could see her counting the steps. She's not a convincing badass at all.

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
tessathereaper replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
I never heard that one about Edlund, how could he possibly be responsible for Edlund leaving? Hogging storylines? What storylines? He's the king of them stealing storylines that start with his character by cutting them short and then giving "bigger better(not)" versions to other characters. The reason Gamble "got gone" was because she was often over-budget(in season 6 and season 7) and consistently was taking too long to get the scripts to the various departments who needed to do stuff like scout locations, build sets, make costumes, etc. It wasn't just because Jensen didn't like "domesticated Dean" at the beginning of Season 6 that's for sure. There were a LOT of BTS problems with Sera. That's why they brought Singer in to be co-showrunner about halfway through the season, to try and get control of the budget. -
There's a moment in the fight flashback where MichaelDean "squares up" against Kaia and it's like night and day, it came across as second nature. Jensen popped into that stance like it was the most natural thing in the world. And before anyone goes in about ages and experience and what not - we have examples of Jensen's fight scenes from when he was in his early 20's and he was good then too, he's better now but he was still good then. That's what makes it so laughable that Kaia won that fight - you're watching the fight and going "How the hell did that happen" because she just looks so bad it doesn't seem possible. And if anything I think Jensen was holding back so as not to make it look too uneven.

Oh my god she was PAINFUL. She was awkward, unnatural, everything about her was forced. She was anything but awesome. The only thing good about Michael/Kaia flashback fight scene was Jensen's awesome moves, she looked like she was faking it all the way through. She would have looked worse if she'd been fighting with any other character, as usual, he helped make her look better than she was.

I remember someone at a con I think, I can't remember who, who must have travelled with Jensen a bit, maybe to conventions or to the set, saying they noticed Jensen got picked a lot by airport security for extra checks, etc, he said it was like all these guys who were unpopular in high school finally having a chance to get back at the captain of the football team or something along those lines. That's how I always think of most of these writers.

These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers

I like how Ausiello added that Dean feels guilty "even though it's totally not his fault". At least we aren't the only ones who see that stupidity. -

Just saying, Dean has tried to do this. They don't listen to him when he does, or they hold it against him and throw it in his face for not doing his feelings correctly. -

What else is new? Sam always wants Dean to deal with things Sam's way and if Dean doesn't it's DEAN who has the problem and who will be criticized and berated until he falls in line, apologizes for not doing his feelings right and starts acting like how Sam wants him. -
And frankly I don't give a damn about Micheal if it isn't about Dean and Dean being his vessel. Michael can do what he wants, it's same old same old if it doesn't directly and importantly involve and focus on Dean.
-
I very much agree with this. "Nesting" doesn't mean "normal", and home doesn't mean normal. Dean can make a home anywhere whether it's "normal" or not. But for Dean that whole thing wasn't about normal, it was about safe and Dean himself can't really feel safe in an environment like that knowing what is really out there, as we saw - he was jumpy, he still checked out things for potential supernatural influence if he saw something that looked like it might be, he was still trying to figure out a way to save Sam, he wasn't sleeping, etc. Like you said he cared about Lisa and Ben and certainly he was putting himself into those relationships but he was mostly going through the motions in the life he was living.
-
No he didn't want Dean to be happy, he wanted Dean to do what he wanted Dean to do. It was a choice Dean wouldn't have made on his own for GOOD reason. He only did it for Sam. As Jensen said, it wasn't really in character for Dean which is why he didn't like the whole "domesticated" Dean situation. And Dean DID try to find a way to get Sam out, he talked about his research while still trying to keep his promise to Sam so he was trying to find a way to do it that wouldn't cause more problems, he was unsuccessful but it's canon that he tried. They've been through this too many times for any ideas about "well maybe he's part of the goo" to come across as even remotely realistic unless it was wishful thinking on Sam's part that just gave the excuse to not look, because he didn't really want Dean back anyway. It's not different than disappearing in a blinding flash of light like he did a few episodes before in the time travel episode. At least not enough to have not tried. Sam on the other hand did nothing and seemed proud of the fact that he did nothing and he whined about his organic food or lack thereof and then we find out he and Amelia were over before Dean ever got back, meanwhile he spent the whole time acting like Dean was to blame for the fact that he doesn't have life anymore. Oh and he also spent the whole time lying to Amelia much like he did Jessica - didn't tell her about his real life or anything which meant everything they had was built upon lies anyway. And he seemed annoyed Dean came back which was probably the worst thing, it was like inside his head he was thinking "Dammit, I thought I was done with him finally" he was immediately annoyed with him over everything. I mean dude spent a year in Purgatory not sleeping or eating, maybe he's not in the greatest state of mind the first few days, how about not acting like he should be feeling sorry for you having to give up your organic apples lifestyle and chick you were lying to the whole time.

The only thing worth watching in this episode was Jensen's Michael. Everything else made no sense and for the most part the acting from the others was flat as hell.

I'd like that. Maybe to "Stayin' Alive"(you know for the irony:)) "You can tell by the way I use my walk I'm a woman's man, no time talk...." snappin' people away with each step. :) -
Yes! My first Large Eyed, Long Lashed Love and my most recent(14 years and counting LOL)!! (and wow the most recent looks quite hot indeed in this vid:)) I'm not an Original Beatles Fangirl by any means, I was born after they broke up, but I fell in love with Paul McCartney as a little girl when he was a solo artist and he's my favorite musician ever, Beatles, Wings, Solo. He's a genius and a treasure. We should all be so active and creative at 76 years old(he just put out a great album Egypt Station about a month ago). This is awesome. I was really hoping they'd go to his show.

Yep, it was on for almost 18 years consecutively, longest Billboard chart run ever.

I'd say that's definitely Pellegrino, his ears are a dead give away. -
I figure that's what's coming, at least if we get another season. That's how aliens will go "hey we're your friends"(while doing whatever nefarious thing they are really doing) and initially at least get everyone on their side. I remember on Stargate SG-1, they had a scenario where these aliens came to earth and seemingly cured all diseases, so everyone was like "hey this is great" but really they sterilized the human race because they were going to take over the planet. But I remember reading something a while ago saying that retrofitting an asteroid and turning it into a ship could be a possible form of space travel so I figure the writers must have read the same thing somehwere and that's why they had the aliens come to earth in an asteroid.

These are always funny but this deleted dialogue post is particularly inspired.

Where Do We Go From Here? The Alienist Speculation
tessathereaper replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in The Alienist [V]
I'm really looking forward to "Season 2". I want to see all those things you mention. When will it air? 2020? I remember how long this first season seemed to take. -
Same. They put some story lines on the back burner this episode in order to wrap up the current larger storyline and to open up the door for a couple new storylines going forward. I no way would I think this is a "happy ending" just a happy moment in what has been a very stressful few months. And I mean everyone else has been able to have time for sex(or at least making out), asteroid or not, why can't Darius for once? And at least it's with the same woman he's been interested in, not with the first passing hot lady he has a conversation with(I'm looking at you Liam and Harris;)) . Yes Q17 has been invisible until now but there was an episode where we first learned about ReSyst too, all storylines have to start somewhere, this is the start of the Q17 storyline - besides it's just the first we hearing the name, we've already seen their workings - with Fiona, with Bennet, we just didn't have a name for the ones behind it. Now we do. And with regards to the nukes, I agree. I just don't blame Darius for this situation. Hell in this particular situation if any of the "good guys" have blood on their hands, it's Liam - he is the one who told ReSyst the railgun test was a likely cover for destroying the nuke. ReSyst is the one pointing the gun, ReSyst is the one responsible for anything that happens related to the gun being pointed. They have never once negotiated in good faith.

Probably not as such short notice, they were moments from launch, on a system like that it's unlikely there would be a simple plug they could pull out of the wall. ;) or a few simple switches. I doubt there was a simple analog way to cut the power. It probably would have taken longer than they had to cut the power, esp given a lot of their power cut options were likely controlled by...software, which they were locked out of. Because they also couldn't risk destroying the railgun, it still would need to get used to take out the Asteroid. So basically there options for cutting the power without risking serious damage to the railgun were probably almost nil.

Well I think that's just one of those suspension of disbelief things with regards to fleeing NYC and the amount of time it would take. :) And no I don't think anything Darius would have done would have changed that regarding the nukes. Alycia is ReSyst's actual person of contact, thus she is as responsible for everything as they are, in fact in some situations she made it far worse. There was literally no point in going through the motions because that isn't why they were pointing the Nukes. Darius did show a willingness, even if it was reluctant, to combine the solar sail and the railgun, they were the one who decided to point the nukes at NYC and say "the United States has to give up the railgun(because it isn't Darius's personal railgun, it's the United States' railgun) to us or we blow up NY". All they ever did was steal - they "stole" the scientists(by forcing them into a hostage like situation), they stole the nukes, they stole Tanz Industries headquarters. Sorry but it's on ReSyst - they keep giving in to ReSyst and Resyst keeps threatening more and asking for more. ReSyst are terrorists, and if anything they were just getting worse, in terms of using the Nukes as a threat for any little thing, not better.
