Yes. Bit we are only 12 episodes into the story. Something like that. Under some circumstances this is good pacing, it just isn’t matching ip with the way the thing is being made. I wonder if we will get a third season? i think using the familiar characters makes more sense for them..

I think as a child, when I read the books, I always thought the lands in the West were just that, an actual place. It seems hard that we saw the race of elves go extinct at the beginning of the fourth age. I guess, that is what happens. Which makes Gil-Galad sending the Elves on that boat somewhat like forcing poisoned Koolade on them for political reasons. Death with the promise of heaven.

That sounds like a twist that will move the investigation along.

Veronica accepted the proposal because Logan was manipulating her, because she felt guilty for nothing, because she was trauma bonded with him. There was very consistant character development. It just never lead to a strong healthy relationship bwtween Logan and Veronica. It just was never what the story was about.

I fancy she continues to sleuth and paint portraits.

I have a book on Dionysus somewhere. He was older than the olympian group, a rural god, and possibly the earliest example of monotheism. When times changed he was given a smaller place in the family, keeping him around in a controlled capacity. He is pretty chaotic.

S02.E02: Where the Stars are Strange
Affogato replied to paulvdb's topic in The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power
Welp. There apparently was a reason his realm was the last that was fair and free, between the mountains and the sea. you would think they would have some more expertise. What with all the delving they do. -
Dionysus marries Ariadne in myth, so I speculate that if there is a season 2 they will hook up. D meets her on Naxos. There is some drama and a love triangle of sorts with Theseus, Ariadne and Dionysus. Some stories say she is abandoned on Naxos by Theseus, kills herself, and Dionysus goes to Hades and brings her and her mother back. Orpheus dies by being torn apart and eaten by Dionysus’s Maenads. It is a great honor. Or they are annoyed by his constantly whining about Eurydice. In any case I can see showing a rock star torn apart and eaten by his fans, enough to make you want to film the whole show. so good times next season or two. Good times.

I think in actual timeline Celebrian is already born. And would be adult. i think Tom and Goldberry are the same person.

I think it is rhe opposite. She is maybe homeless and crazed because no one believes her and because her prophecies make people uncomfortable.

I am beyond upset by the brutal murder of Dennis. i hope the furies don’t go after Ariadne. i bought her mother, she probably picked up on Minos being abusive. So she believed it.

S04.E01: Once Upon a Time in the West

I assume California is alive with guacamole and salsa. Which are ‘heart healthy’. Maybe he doesn’t like them as much. -
I assume part of it is that we are show. Some things out of chronological order so we know what is going on. What happened at the forge may not have been all accomplished while we are with Elrond’s party.

In The Media: What Say You?

Really? Spat? Oh, my! They aren’t able to use all the source material and can’t reasonably be expected to do justice to every one of the 4000 years. Honestly I’ve encountered more for HOTD, but I’m not looking in the right place. it is possible that we don’t have to honor every stray thought that wafted through Tolkien's writing hand. It also would be great if GRRM could keep some of his thoughts to himself. -

BY SYLAS K BARRETT PUBLISHED ON AUGUST 30, 2024 —————————- this has a detailed recap and also makes some good points of commentary. He talks a bit about scenes giving repeat information and unnecessary information given the nimber of episodes they have. I thought his thoughts on Galadriel and Sauron were insightful. -
I think Gandalf is going to get his staff from old man ironwood. He is going to need to ask nicely though. That’s where Bombadil comes in.

I’m guessing Rings of Power and House of the Dragon have similar problems. Expensive to make. Small numbers of episodes. Long waits for the next season, loss of momentum. Everyone knows what happens (loosely speaking). -
On the other hand Melkor put Sauron in charge of that area very early in the first age, so perhaps it is his sigil. Who knows?
-
Sorry, saruman was a glitch in the matrix. Sauron used it and Adar uses it. It appears to mean something more than ‘sauron’, like a country’s flag does not specifically mean one leader. In this case, maybe more like a swastika. It may be a sign for evil things in the know, where to find like minded people. It may have originated with Morgoth. We will see how much progress Annatar and his stooge have made with the nine rings when our heroes arrive at the foundry.
-
I guess they replaced the blue wizards with ones we know, for familiarity and fan service. I am assuming that there may be multiple barrows all over middle earth, so stumbling on one does not mean anything in terms of location. I confused the sigil, too, but it is not for Sauron, it is a map of mordor, I suppose. Galadriel discovers this in Numenor.

Maybe someone hiding as someone else? Something to do woth the apartment?

Bombadil is mother/father earth (a they is hinted at in this episode, later we meet his wife, but no teason to assume he isn’t just a being with two aspects) A titan, older than the Valar. profoundly pagan, so much so that I think the Christian author muffled them a little. Or so I think. Had to be, no need to dwell. who better to mentor a falling star in the way of his new world? I don’t remember the promise either. Arondir is looking good for the first king of the mirkwood, after that ent meeting. It will provide any surviving good southerners a home, too The Shire is not that far east of the misty mountains. the weather in the area could change. I’m not completely clear if the geography, but it seems possible. If that is one of the swamps polychaetes I am not looking forward to meeting the hirudinea.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stunt_Man The Stunt Man is a 1980 American satirical psychologicalanti-war action comedy filmstarring Peter O'Toole, Steve Railsback and Barbara Hershey, and directed by Richard Rush.[2]The film was adapted by Lawrence B. Marcus and Rush from the 1970 novel of the same name by Paul Brodeur. It tells the story of a young fugitive who hides as a stunt double on the set of a World War I movie whose charismatic director will do seemingly anything for the sake of his art. The line between illusion and reality is blurred as scenes from the inner movie cut seamlessly to "real life" and vice versa. There are examples of "movie magic", where a scene of wartime carnage is revealed as just stunt men and props, and where a shot of a crying woman becomes, with scenery, props and soundtrack, a portrait of a grieving widow at a Nazi rally. The protagonist begins to doubt everything he sees and hears, and at the end is faced with real danger when a stunt seems to go wrong. ——— i remember this as a good movie. I can see potential for crossover with the show storyline.
