  1. I would also say this was true of the male characters. So the question remains. I haven’t time to write a really good answer. I think that fans often react with systemic sexism, racism, social expectations. A lot of splitting goes on in any online fandom, including political, tv, movies. I think, though, that a lot of the buffy arguments come from back when teens werr using the show and each other as a sounding board to figure out how they felt about things.
  2. I find it hard to comment because I can’t teally follow all of the political stuff. I also think the money is a mess. We don’t have much information.
  3. Well, yes, of course. I still think it is a bit extreme.
  4. I stopped watching this show pretty early on. But yes. She was a narcissist. Did people like her? I thought she was the evil queen.
  5. About Spike’s attempted rape of Buffy it is not that she used him for sex, although she had been using him. It is that she acted the same way she did and he had every reason to assume that if she really meant it she would fight him off. When he found out he was wrong he was remorseful and he went out and got a soul. But the point was , at least in part, that it was in a gray area. Good lord, it was not an after school special, but if it was, be more sensitive to others and what they are going through. to add, the real issue is that it represented the attempted rape as something that was in part Buffy’s responsibility. Note that I did not say fault. You can argue this was irresponsible as a topic in a teen show, but here we are. Xander was a well rounded character. you don’t have to want him as a friend, although overall he was a pretty good one. In my opinion, a lot of the time. He had pretty much raised himself, as it turned out, and it showed. Anout the gender thing the question is why are people so focused and defensive about rhe guys on the show? There was a largely female cast and some of their characters did bad things.

I am liking the younger group better than the older ones at this point. I liked Freddy and the kids talking about his decision. The brownie!
  7. Honestly if Sazz was dragged immediately to the incinerator the dog might smell blood, not the decomposition of her flesh.
  8. I do not quite understand Emily/Parwana’s motivation. I get that Abby was controlling, secretive and probably narcissistic. I understand that Emily/parwana was blocked from having really close relationships with everyone, including Chase, growing up. Still, she is an FBI agent. She was kidnapped. Hamzad’s folk are not a pile of puppies, even if he is her sperm donor. She should have some doubts. why is she all in with these people? I get the harem was nice to her. Women do not need mother figures that badly. i do get that now she can’t leave until they are safe, but she was in before.
  9. The monster attacks the boat halbrand is on. Apparently they are a judgmental monster in more ways than one. I bet they also attack human boats the go too near the blessed lands.
  10. I made one. Anyone can.

  12. I liked the exchange between Galadriel and Adar. He wanted children and Galadriel wanted an army. As they speak Celebrimbor wanted to create something wonderful and be remembered. a history of abuse and manipulation by Sauron. He doesn’t just buy an ice cream cone. He gets you to buy one to give to an orphan child and then poisons the ice cream and tells you the child wouldn’t have died if you hadn’t given them ice cream. The bat thing, though, well it is clear the dwarven women have their ways. Anyone would retreat before a herd of stampeding bats. They may bite as well. It doesn’t mean they are terrified of bats in general. I’m not sure why the stranger needed to make that choice. Maybe Tom is just trying to go along with his need for mentoring. Arondir was there to remind us he is still around (maybe in his contract?)?but also, I think, to show the Orcs aren’t all behind the war on Sauron.

I get that Alan is Frasier's buddy but he is an awful person and I’d steer Nile’s son away from him. Alan needs a few more redeeming features, or at least one.
  14. I think they are doing a good job, or Celebrimbor’s actor is doing a good job, of showing how Sauron has made him doubt his abilities. Sauron isn’t only triangulsting his employees, he is subtly demeaning Celebrimbor , making him afraid to do anything for himself. It is a masterful show of covert abusiveness. Go Valar! And your Valiant beast!
  15. Kelsey Grammer directed this one.
  16. The prime app says the 18th. Which is odd because it is the 19th. Whatever. It is here.

  19. Speaking of Frasier, the first episode of the new second season features investment ham.
  20. Well, what the short season niches allowed was not paying people. Strikes and so on later, a sign of resistance from the creators, and the executives need to adjust their priorities. Also niche’s compete and what wins are the cheaper and realer ones, reality shows and most true crime type of thing. Anyway, things are changing and when that happens you lose a lot of good shows in the shift.
  21. No it is quite possible Jan told that she was escaping to Sazz and demanded help and an incident of running off together. Meanwhile Sazz was planning to retire to a fixed rural location. it is also possible dudenoff is—-well my current vote is Richard Kind’s character. They don’t know but he wants his friends to play cards. Friends.
  22. Blowup (also styled Blow-Up) is a 1966 psychological mystery[3] film directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, co-written by Antonioni, Tonino Guerra and Edward Bond[4]and produced by Carlo Ponti. It is Antonioni's first entirely English-language film and stars David Hemmings, Vanessa Redgrave and Sarah Miles. Model Veruschka von Lehndorff is also featured as herself. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blowup Set within the contemporary mod subculture of Swinging London, the film follows a fashion photographer (Hemmings) who believes he has unwittingly captured a murder on film.[6] The cinematographer was Carlo di Palma. The film's non-diegetic music was scored by American jazz pianist Herbie Hancock, and the English rock group The Yardbirds are seen performing "Stroll On". —————- i enjoy trying to connect the movies to the story, or learning about one I haven’t seen. It is a nice touch.
