  1. I think this is a good point about Desna and Roller's relationship. I think the the way people reacted to her at the funeral and finding out that he seemed to have presented her to others as his significant other was surprising to her.
  2. WTF with Jane Adams?? A pubic hair sculpture (from inmates no less - how do you even get that much pubic hair out if a prison?) and I'm assuming the ceiling art is the same medium. Jen is in denial with that house, but she's got a point with Desna. Next week looks interesting. I like that Virginia is getting more interesting. Still an idiot though. Silent Ann's new cop girlfriend , I smell a sting, I'm calling her as UC now.
  3. Yeah, it does have a very specific "Florida noir" feel to it, and admittedly that can be hard to describe and translate. I always thought this was a crime show, it just was marketed like that, at least what I saw. I also disagree with the idea that the men have taken over (or whatever the critic was trying to say). As opposed to the women, the men only seem to exist as they relate to the women. Have the Russians even really been relevant since the first episode?? I feel like maybe that idea has been dropped to a certain extent. For me, at the end of the day, this show is hella entertaining, campy, and had a great chemistry among the women. Added to that it's a female driven show, with a multiple amount of women of color front and center. I also like that the characters seem to be rather nuanced. (I really like that Mandy has been portrayed with layers just as the other women have, It would have been very easy to place her in the frigid, white bitch category. It would have been easy to place the bridal party who came in, got the nails done and them went to hang with them at a strip club. I may be overthinking this, but I like that the impression is that these are all women dealing with their different shit in various ways. At some point when the nail tech, ex-con, business owner; the enforcer; blonde agency owner; ex-stripper (I think Virginia stripped before...); and uptight/out of comfort bridal party can go hang out together at a dive as fuck strip joint in Manatee County. It's beautiful. I live a few counties of here larger in size but pretty close in population, and I could see this her. Florida Noir. That shit needs a whole separate category.
  4. I've never had an interest in the novel, but this trailer looks really great. 2018 cannot come soon enough.
  5. Have you tried a lip stain? Revlon used to have a really great lip stain pen that I like - not sure if the still carry the line. It's a marker, kinda reminds me of a Crayola marker, which sounds weird, but actually works pretty well.
  6. Steel barrel chardonnay is the only way I can drink that particular wine. I cannot abide oaky chardonnay. I love me a good merlot, it is a shame that enough bad merlot got on the market that people started thinking it passe.
  7. No nite ride, I thought Bollywood was middle eastern as well as Indian. My bad.
  8. Guy Ritchie directing a Alladin from disney just seems weird over all. Nite grabbed I haven't watched a huge number of his movies but they have all seemed vet testosterone action movies. Maybe the fact that for me animation is fantasia, snow white, Cinderella, etc. Ritchie seems a little "hard" for that type of movie. I'm having a real hard time understanding how no one is able to find a middle eastern man who can act, dance, and sing. Isn't that most of Bollywood films have?? Am I just being ignorant here????
  9. Yea, while legally and ethically, the foster parents getting beat up and murdered for something they didn't do is wrong (and I do think that), I had a hard time with any sympathy for them. I have a suspicion that Desna and Bryce are going to struggle with this, regardless of how much the two were scum *Bryce since he thinks they killed hi brother and Desna for setting them up). There's a line there and the music montage intercut with the murder was set so well. Desna crossed the killer line without thinking about it or really knowing it. Bryce did - and I think that scene with him in the kitchen was an internal war he was having, because he knew this was an action you can't come back from. Roller showing up alive is going to make that worse for him and it may destroy him. I knida like Roller being alive. I honestly was a little disappointed when the proceeded with him really being dead. Who the fuck is nature chick imprisoning him? This is why I don't trust nature. Roller being alive is going to fuck a lot of people up and when he shows, if Bryce hasn't already relapsed, that will put him over the edge. Desna and Virginia are going to have to work overtime to explain why a dead Roller is alive and how a plastic bag (really?? a plastic duffel bag??) of his shit ended up in dead molester yuppy house. On a shallow note I loved Polly's dress. Pretty sure it's a Michael Kors I saw in Macy's. I should have gotten it then!!
  10. Well "Batshit" was appropriate. What the fuck was that ending? Love psycho Polly; Virginia, dine advice, don't fuck with the crazy. Loved the soul train at the end, and set with the murders, fantastic. Poor Bryce though, that's a hard line to come back from. Glad I'm not the only one who likes Mandy!!
  11. I always took the 10% as indicative of how she admired him and his empathy and dedication to his patients, his irreverence for authority (to a degree), and his ability to loosen up and have fun.
  12. Season 1 is probably my favorite.Pretty much any season with the original crew. There are some characters I like later on: DelAmico, Doyle, Gant. but the over focis on Abby pretty much ended the show for me. Pop Saturday is back into S1, so that and MASH is on rotation in my house right now.
  13. Do i can't figure out how to share a pic of the bag I have, too large and I have no clue how to name the file smaller on my phone. Sorry!
  14. Tarte had one of my favorites blush tints. It was a limited edition in conjunction with the True Blood tv show. It's so p pretty and goes on in a perfect red sheer. They also have some of the nicest feeling lipsticks (also red!).
  15. I have a Dooney & Bourke leather bag that's nice for this. I went on their website and I think it the Sloane bag I have (larger size) but they have a small that might work for you. If I can remember when I get home I'll try to take a pic of the one I have. The leather is very nice, durable, and I've worn it with everything. Additionally I got it at the dooney outlet in Orlando do it was a little less than regular.
  16. Ahh, didn't know how early Park was on the show. Personally, the only one's I had heard of when the show started was Kim (because he's super hot and from Lost, which know one could avoid) and Caan because of the Ocean's trilogy. I know a lot of times when the main cast negotiates together that works for increases, do the other two guys have a different contract schedule than Kim and Park?
  17. What I find additionally interesting about the Hawaii 5-0 situation is that Criminal Minds recently went through something similar only it was with two female actors wanting parity with male co-stars (all white). They got it. (Which they should have IMO) - even though I've watched maybe 15 minutes of 5-0, seems like Kim and Park should have too. Wasn't Kim an original lead?
  18. I have a couple (one is cast iron and I love it). I do use them but I'm single and I'm only cooking for one so they're the perfect size for individual-sized eveeverything. And they make the perfect shaped pancakes!
  19. Exactly. While they're hella entertaining, I don't think any of them are supposed to be good, decent people. I also think their loyalty to the sisterhood ends at their crew (and I wouldn't even bet on that). For some reason I thought Roller and Bryce were taken in by Clay, but not necessarily related to him. I never thought he was actually their father. One of the many things yet to be discovered.
  20. The way they wrote Father Mulcahey was one of the reasons I wanted to be a military chaplain (went to seminary for it). It was just so respectful and recognized what that role can and does mean to a lot of people. He wasn't written as a buffoon, obtuse, or self-righteous. It was wonderful and something I really haven't seen since.
  21. I love Shalimar (and Loves Baby Soft from the other post). I really like the older, heavier perfumes.
  22. And Hunnycut came in from med school. I remember that being mentioned. Not sure about Trapper and Hawkeye, I don't remember either mentioning a practice back home.
  23. How I understand it is the hair is wavy and tousled with some texture, sort of how salt water adds body to hair. I think it's more of a hair style those with non-super curly haor or really thivk hair can do (at least according to my friends with thick hair). I was really hopeful when I tried all the sea sprays that I might finally get to have some sort of volume/lift in my fine/ limp hair but alas, not so much.
