  1. Yum!! I'll take some too!!! A sorbet would be fantastic with it. I've also used limoncello in a parfait. I brush the cake with the limoncello and top it with fruit and whipped cream. It also might be a good lemon bar?
  2. I really miss the Dove foam conditioner and Dove's Cream Oil Rosewood & Cocoa Butter body wash. I just finished the last of the body wash I had stocked up on and I'm on the last can of the conditioner. Luckily I do have some of Olay's in shower moisturizer; it smells so good. It seems like they all went away at the same time
  3. I definitely celebrated Doughnut Day today. I did feel bad though - I contemplated getting a box for the office but most times they never eat them all (I prefer a local place, they like a chain) so I just got some for myself. Someone else got the office a box later.
  4. I always thought they didn't, but then that might be influenced by the fact that I first watched this when I was very little. I think I may have been 5 or so, it wouldn't even occurred to me that they had sex. Now I can see they were implying it though. I was never a huge Margaret fan and that episode is very indicative of why. She just went so OOC to me when a guy was involved. I think it did get worse as time went on. She never seemed as crazy/obsessive with Frank as they had her be with Donald or even Hawkeye (for 1 episode).
  5. I have to agree. Altman does come across as more jealous than actually offended by the series. Now it has been a while since I've seen the movie but i don't ever remember getting a strong moral commentary on racism. Maybe it was there but not to the degree that the series was. I always thought the movie was much more "hijinks in a war zone" than "we will hold a mirror up to the moral and social failings of our time".
  6. I liked Cleo and Malucci. I hated Abby. I also had a very low tolerance for Kerry.
  7. I only get to watch the Saturday episodes so I'm behind you guys, but I had to ship ahead and table the stabbing episodes (and then was a dumbass cause I didn't catch the first one), but man All In the Family still gets me. I cry every damn time. Everyone was great and at the end I had sympathy for everyone, including the patient and his wife (he'll I was even worried about the damn dog who needed to get fed). Lucy always kinda annoyed me, but jeez, this and Loves Labour Lost make me bawl. I remember watching both this and Chicago Hope's pilot. I was ER ask the way. (I may have been swayed by my intense annoyance and irritation of Mandy Patinkin.)
  8. I just got the book Gomorrah, anyone read it? It is listed as a personal journey into the most violent empire of Naples organized crime.
  9. All this Entemann's talk is getting to me. We have an Entemann's outlet near me; I think I might need to make a trip.
  10. Yeah, I think I've seen the LA cake at my grocery store recently. Maybe they've made it a regional thing?
  11. I would give serious cash for s'more Oreos and violet crumble. I think see's are good, the dark is definitely better than the milk, but what makes them good for me is the scotchmallows and the chewy nut things. Only chewy nut candy I like. Also, while I'm not big on truffles (unless it's a good liquor one) the Truffle Shop in Nevada City, CA is phenomenal. They cost an obscene (though I understand why) for shipping to Florida, but they are soooooo good. Damn now I may need to get some.
  12. That may get me to turn the Netflix on. I'm really bad about just letting it sit there. That show sounds fantastic. Now that CBS cancelled criminal minds reboot (sad). I'll have some time to try it out. The Black Lightening sounds good. Guess we'll see. I wasn't sure if the discussion was here or another forum but I remember people were speculating if The Cosby Show would go away and never come back. Well I found it on TV One this weekend. Same week the trial is trying to get some jurors for one of the cases actually going to trial.
  13. Heh, so I'm flipping through cahnnels and hit the other ABC channel I have and it was the "Fever" dance scene with Katey Segal (aka as Peggy from Married with Children) and all I could think was "Peggy, Peggy...Kelly did this dance way better with the hot janitor." (that would a MWC reference).
  14. I can't. I got to the first dance scene with Johnnie and Penny and everyone just seems so uncomfortable and charismatic. I adore Sarah Hyland and dear god, I can't even hang in there for her. Literally any bit of chemistry any of these people have has been vacuum sucked out of the room. I think maybe the scene-for-scene remake is hurting them. Every one is just coming off as really really bad wannabe's. Even the actual dancers (I guess they're actual dancers) make me think they're trying to keep count in their heads just to stay on time.
  15. Ahh. All I could think of was SWV. which isn't the same thing.
  16. My go to corkscrew is the electric one, followed by the rabbit. I have nerve damage in both hands so the wine key is a non-starter for me. One of my friend's sister did do the shoe-wall trick when in a hotel once. Apparently, it worked. I can open a champagne bottle with no "pop". It's my one talent.
  17. Well that's...dumb. I don't get why having two females of color in charge is a big fucking deal. And what the hell is SJW? Sometimes I feel so confused by people...
  18. @spiderpig. If mr. Pig is coming to florida I will buy him See's chocolates if he brings me some Violet Crumble!
  19. I will volunteer to be the objective judge (seeing as I'm team miracle whip) but someone must make me a feied baloney and cheeses sandwich with fried white bread after. And it must gave a cheerwine or peach nehi on the side.
  20. Was that similar to their malted milk?? I used to mix the malted milk powder into my mother's Ensure drinks when she was alive. She had stage iv lung cancer and wouldn't eat anything, but she'd drink the hell out of Ensure with ice cream and malted milk.
  21. Dangit. This pisses me off I really liked this show.
  22. Ahh, I think I read it as African American and Hispanic couple. Whoops.
  23. I'm not sure if they would qualify as a super couple as it was a sitcom and I'm not sure you can have a super couple on a sitcom (??), but there was Turk and Carla on Scrubs (Donald Faison and Judy Reyes); they were long-term, fairly stable pairing that ran the length of the show. I don't really remember than having any serious issues. They were pretty core to the show. Other than that I can't think of any others. Of course one could say the real core relationship was JD and Turk! ;)
  24. Yes!! Brown bread w/o raisins (which is hard to find). I also like cream cheese and bologna, in a sandwich our just rolled up together. Yum. The best thing for me about New year's dinner is the leftovers. I always cut up the (canned) corned beef and fry it, then make a sandwich with it, cabbage, and mashed up black eyed peas. So good.
