Greer: Well, the two of them are having sex again. This is going to take awhile. I'm going out to get a cappuccino. Wendell: Um, I'll watch, sir, and um ..... call you when it's over. Greer: Yes, I bet you will.

So, he spent the whole week obsessing over the Styx song "Too Much Time On My Hands". I thought that the natural conclusion would be to have Dennis De Young & Tommy Shaw pop in for a surprise appearance, but it turns out it was all for Jimmy and Paul Rudd to pretend to be the band members in a silly recreation of the video.

When they came back from break #1 and started the interviews, the "JEPARDY" down in the corner was mispelled; later on, IBM's WATSON showed up for a brief second ($1000, same category). Anybody notice anything else (yet)??

Those Flintstones commercials were real, BTW. Remember, this was a prime time cartoon aimed at adults as well as children, and the laws regarding cigarette commercials back in the 60's were pretty much nonexistant.

S04.E17: You've Got Me, Who's Got You?
Twilight Man replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Elementary [V]
thuganomics85 roomtorome Don't forget to add NCIS to the list as well. Abby: Can I get a picture with all of you? Female Vigilante: Sure. By the way, I really love your superhero costume. Abby: I'm not wearing a costume?? -
One of my favorite moments - I forget which episode. It involved the final game, where the two chosen celebs are trying to explain other celebs to the contestant. If it's a sports star, they say "He/She plays for this team.... If it's a TV/Movie star, they say "He/She was in this show/movie..... If it's a music star, they say "He/She sang this song.... So the clue came up........ Khloe Kardashian. Both celebs froze for at least two seconds. One of them finally said "She's......one of the ......... sisters." I was on the floor, rolling around in laughter.

Mr. Booze, much like the Shipoopi song, was, ahem, "borrowed" from a musical. This time it was a Rat Pack movie, Robin and the Seven Hoods. Dean Martin sings while the rest of the Rat Pack sing back-up and "testify" throughout the song. I especially love Sammy's testimony starting at 1:49. Don't feel bad that you didn't know about the original. Just look down at all the comments and you'll see that most of them are "Family Guy" fans saying the same thing. RIP Frank Sinatra Jr. A classy guy which this show clearly never deserved to have guest star on two episodes.

Lantern7 Chicago RedShirt So yeah, back in the mid 2000's, before this national nightmare that we call the New 52 happened, Nightwing and Roy Harper didn't want to be Titans anymore because Donna died (she got better) so they formed a ragtag team of misfits and called themselves the umpteenth version of the Outsiders. One member of the team was a sexy robot named Indigo, who saved most of the Titans / Young Justice from the aforementioned homicidal Superman robot (yes, that happened). She was cute, sexy, silly, and 30 issues later, was revealed to be the eighth version of Brainiac (he has almost as many versions as Ultron). Brainiac made this version cute and cuddly so she could easily infiltrate the ranks of the heroes, gain their trust, and betray and kill them when they would least expect it. Unfortunately, her desire to be accepted by the heroes led to her becoming conflicted when she attempted to betray and kill them, thus becoming ineffective. Try, try again, Brainiac.

S09.E17: The Celebration Experimentation

I'm still trying to figure out what happened to Alicia, the hotter girl who lives upstairs. -
And now ......................... The $100 Unlimited Ticket!!!!! For $100, there will give you a special card with your name on it (partly so it will be non-transferrable). You can go see Batman V Superman as many times as you like!!!!! This would have come in handy for Avengers & Avatar & Star Wars VII and ................. On the minus side, someday you'll buy an unlimited card for a movie that will stink as much as 1997's "Batman & Robin". "Awesome!!! I just paid $100 to go see Ah-nuld & Clooney as much as I can!!!" "This movie is going to be -------- NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!"

OttoDbusdriver forumfish OttoDbusdriver They were even using that plot device last season on POI. Elias (the incredibly awesome Enrico Colantoni) rebuilt part of the system to send messages back and forth to his underlings. He suspected that cell phones were being monitored. Finch was impressed - "He's using an antiquated 100 year old system to outsmart a high tech artificial intelligence!!!" And that is yet another reason we are less than impressed with last night's episode - don't use a plot device that was seen on another show from last year. It just makes you look like the "writers" from that one Simpsons episode (the one where the family is on a rapidly changing reality TV show). "We need a new idea - everybody take out your pocket TVs and start channel surfing!!"

Speaking as a 40 year old, I have been collecting Batman and Superman comics since the early 1980's (What a wonderful time that was for comic fans: Dark Knight Returns, Year One, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Dark Phoenix, etc.) I have also managed to amass most of the comics of Action and Detective from the 70's as well. I was eagerly anticipating the (two) great moment(s) when Action and Detective both hit issue #1000. When the new 52 happened and everything was reset to #1, it felt like a gut punch. DC Comics has managed on a few other occasions to "reset" Batman and Superman without needing to reset the numbering of their comics. (Silver Age, aforementioned "Crisis") It felt like an incredible betrayal, like DC was now only interested in making money, by relying on cheap marketing gimmicks, instead of caring about their fans. I still clung to just one hope; that DC would ultimately bring back the original numbering, like Marvel did to Fantastic Four (and a few others) several months after that whole "Heroes Reborn", "Heroes Return", "Heroes Retarded" thing. (Of course, what Marvel is now doing to Fantastic Four is, well, another matter altogether) I am at least a bit happy to hear that my wish has been answered, and although DC is still mostly resorting to cheap marketing gimmicks; at least the fans of Superman and Batman can look forward to this great moment that is over 75 years in the making. (Speaking of "Heroes Reborn" and "Heroes Return", I remember reading a fan's comment in a letter column in the back of a DC comic that I had purchased at about that time. He was worried that DC was going to reset their comics like Marvel just did. The staff at DC reassured that kid: "That is never going to happen!!!!" I wish I could find that letter/response/comic. Like I said, I have lots and lots of comics.)

"Big Ang" has passed away from cancer. Somewhere out there, Joel is crying just a little bit. Thank you, "Big Ang", for providing us all with just a touch of unintentional comedy.

I loved the orientation at the beginning; Diane flim-flamming her way through her speech. "I started this law firm 14 years ago....." Uh, you mean the one that self-destructed once Canning pushed you out. "And you too can become a named partner in less than 6 years......" Sure, if I quit said before mentioned law firm, start my own, and then (optionally) have you join up later on. Obviously, the flim-flam is a better way to convince the new hires that there is a possibility for high advancement, so they won't quit this law firm and go over to Canning or start their own, but it was funny as heck listening to her revisionist history. "Did I mention that I know Hillary Clinton?? I was actually instrumental in convincing Obama to make her Secretary of Stat-" OK, Diane, Thank you, and now here's Greg to tell you about inappropriate behavior in the workplace.

And now he turned that interview into a book. Soon, you can get that at Wal-Mart too.

Which is not nearly as much as some people are asking for a much smaller '66 Batmobile that apparently was so special edition that only 1000 sets were made. I actually saw this at a LEGO store about a year ago, but didn't buy it!!!! (I bought a much bigger set instead).

Happy Golden Anniversary, Bat-Fans!!!! Yes, on this day, 50 years ago, the very first episode (Hi Diddle Riddle) premiered on ABC. Not very much hype and hoopla is being done about this incredible occurrence. Apparently, DC is all “partied out” celebrating the recent anniversaries of several of their comic books. Besides, most of the celebratory merchandise has already been available now for the past year or more. So, I’m planning on celebrating by reading a couple of Batman ’66 comics -- Admiring (OK, playing with) my Batman ’66 action figures – (if you look carefully, you can even see the make-up covered mustache on the Joker) I even have my Batman ’66 Xmas ornaments that I still kept out this year due to the mounumentous occasion. And, of course, the main course of this celebration – the special edition Blu-Ray complete collection – I will be sitting down and watching several of the adventures, including “Hi Diddle Riddle” itself. A television show that shattered the black and white world of TV and showed the world what "Bat-Color" was, and then proceeded to have special guest stars every week, from TV personalities to movie stars and even a few musicians, decades ahead of "The Simpsons". It was the pop culture show of its time, and it will forever be remembered.

S09.E11: The Opening Night Excitation
Twilight Man replied to MMLEsq's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
How come the guys didn't show up at the premiere wearing Star Wars outfits?? These are the same guys who wore those silly ape masks during the POTA marathon. This is ONLY the geek movie event of the decade. It would have made Wheaton sitting next to them even more hilarious. Maybe Leonard and Howard got into an argument over who should be Luke and who should be Han (and poor Raj kept saying "Why do I have to be Chewbacca??") so they just gave up and went in normal clothing.- 182 replies

From last week: No fair dressing up as characters before he became famous. Although I would love to see a person dressed as a doctor on Halloween and say "I'm Clint Eastwood from "Revenge of the Creature"." -
Media: Blood And Oil in the News
Twilight Man replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Blood And Oil [V]
How The Major Networks Are Secretly Cancelling Shows Without You Knowing The latest marketing gimmick: if you announce that the show is being cancelled, then people will stop watching the show altogether, which will affect other shows on the same network on the same night, and ultimately affect the whole network. Instead, "reduce the episode order", shut down production, quietly replace the show in January (after watching 2 weeks of holiday specials) with a midseason show, don't bring it back in March (because there are no more episodes anyway), and annouce that it is cancelled in May when everyone has forgotten about it -
Much like many other shows before (X-Files, Law & Order), they probably film in a non-descrip park somewhere near the Hollywood studio and then claim that it is in New York, New Orleans, or whatever weird place Mulder & Scully are in this week. I'm switching back and forth between NCIS: NOLA and iZombie: "Look, it's Steven Weber." click "Look, it's Steven Weber" click "There's Weber again" click "There's Weber again" click WHAT SHOW AM I WATCHING?????
