  1. I wish they would have held the last scene of them dancing just a few seconds longer. But I loved all the prom stuff.
  2. I probably weigh about 50 pounds less than Katie, but she looks about 50 times better in a swimsuit than I do!
  3. No slouch, but according to Bette on the Johnny Carson show the most unprofessional person she ever worked with. She added that anyone else he asked would tell him the same thing.
  4. Love this show, so glad it's back! Favorite line tonight "I've always been very adept at taking the shape of the shoe that's pressed down upon me." Loved seeing pony tail guy showing Jack to his desk in the the basement.
  5. I wonder if they could have picked a worse font for giving the "what happened next" info at the end. I couldn't read most of it. The pics at the end just showed how they didn't even try to get Bette's hair and makeup right on Susan Sarandon.
  6. It was a short distance with no streets to cross. With no streets to cross and being in residential Westport, I think I'd let her but just the once for her birthday present. But after making good on that promise I'd make her wait a couple years before she could do it on her own again. I would be seriously cheesed off at that woman who followed AnnaKat home. Not for the reason Katie was but because she ruined what was supposed to be special for AnnaKat. I loved "what do you do if a stranger says he has your favorite candy in his van?" - "Does he have Pop Rocks?" Clever kid. I liked that it ended up that Cooper enjoyed the rules and Katie's snarkiness. He can be snobby, but if he was a real snob he'd have dropped Oliver long ago. I hope he stays around.
  7. Huh, I never thought of it with Horvath. I kinda dig it. I know a Grover - in his 30's, tall and lanky - it suits him.
  8. I also liked when she left Sister Ursula, she turned at the door and let her know that no one doubted her good intentions - "we all want a tight ship!" That was a kindness she didn't need to add, but she IS kind, so she did. I don't know what I want to happen to the tv. I want Sister MJ to have it back, it is hers after all, but I'm sure the men appreciate it and they seemed to enjoy "sharing" it with MJ.
  9. "This dress is ruined. I'll never be able to wear it again." I liked when Claire was running down what the 20's were like, she had a little panic when she got to "prohibition" - until Phil assured her there'd be drinks at the wedding!
  10. Sooo... I blanked on the woman he ends up with! What a dork. I do have an absolutely irrational hate for Laura Linney (I have no reason to hate her, none, but I do) so maybe that's why...
  11. You might find those types of things discussed in the "Real Families" thread. People discuss their real life experience with disabilities in that thread rather than the episode threads.
  12. Maybe school janitor was the only job open at the time he was looking.
  13. I almost forgot, I also loved when Dylan realized she didn't open the back for the rest of the family to get out (about a half an hour later!)
  14. Yay! Lily! "I knew the perspective was off!" Not sure I believe a kid can fit both his legs in one leg of the tiny little pants they sell, but I lol'd at Joe jumping in "It happened again!" and then falling on the floor! Good job, kid! I like Haley's "I maxed out my credit card buying these ridiculously expensive sunglasses" -- pause -- "I don't love them."
  15. Loved this one - so funny! Loved the ding lady playing along with Maya and JJ's revenge was delicious! It was obvious Ray was going to destroy the tower of artichoke hearts, but I didn't see the rest of the chaos coming. I actually forgot this was about Kenneth having another job, so I was actually surprised (and delighted) to see him as manager.
  16. "Who's in charge? Ray's in charge, b-word!" Oh, Ray, such a tough guy!
  17. Definitely. Lipstick was also used to give the lips a different shape. Look at Bette Davis, she used lipstick straight across her upper lip, erasing the "cupid's bow" of the upper lip. Lucille Ball used lipstick to give her upper lip a unique shape where the outer edges were fuller. Marilyn Monroe also used this trick to plump her pout.
  18. Could you make a little room for me? How could anyone like him? I don't get it. I know Kate said she would tell him about her father's death, but she had such a hard time at the fun-eral. When she was so happy and up after the play, couldn't he just let her have that joy? Was it absolutely necessary that she talk about her dad right that night? There was no reason he couldn't wait a day (or a week or a month or a year).
  19. Adam Driver has never struck me as "conventionally attractive" - Adam and Hannah were a pretty even match to me. Both attractive in a different type of way.
  20. Meet me in the small talk thread?
  21. My very favorite is Dark Victory. In my small circle of friends if someone says they're sick - the first thing we ask is "can you still feel the sun on your hands?" I'm also always telling them "Darling, poor fool, can't you see I'm in love with you?" I also love "Old Acquaintance" - that scene where Bette calmly strolls across the room and shakes the crap out of Miriam Hopkins, strolls back to the door and snips "Sorry" is GOLD! And I do love Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. It was the first Bette Davis movie I ever saw. I was sort of young for it (I actually had to go to bed before it was over! But mom woke me up a bit early so she could describe the ending before I went to school - and MAN I could not wait to tell all my friends about it!) Jezebel is another I can watch over and over. So what are your faves, Valny? I wish I had box DVD sets! Then there would always be something to watch!
