  1. I agree. I'm a huge BD fan so I think I'll be harder on SS than JL (I know "Mommie Dearest" better than any actual Joan Crawford movie). So far I'm liking it, although a couple of pair of blue contacts wouldn't have hurt!
  2. He's one of those that looked better when he actually did get older. His age finally caught up to his face. Yes, Happy Birthday Sweet 16 was his. He wrote hundreds of songs for others and had a resurgence in the 70's with Bad Blood (backup vocals by Sir Elton John!) and Laughter in the Rain (also wrote a lot of hits for The Captain and Tenille and the Carpenters). I agree with Jay, Neil Diamond would have been better (although I did enjoy Sedaka's 70's stuff). It seemed like something Phil and his dad should have just done on their own, forget the party!
  3. If there are two cards, why isn't there a designated place to put the "extra" after that category is announced? A big cardboard box labeled "Do not touch" would work.
  4. Interesting that Huffington Post just published an article on what would happen it the wrong name/movie was announced. (Exactly this, by the way)
  5. Faye Dunaway looking verklempt over being there and Shirley MacLaine waving "HI" to her brother was cute!
  6. I think that most people feel that way. It seemed like I wasn't done feeling sad over Bowie and then Prince was gone. It did feel close.
  7. Yep, that was brutal. I'm a puddle. I didn't know William Peter Blatty died. My best friend and I were obsessed with his writing in Jr. High.
  8. The stars are being adorable! Love how nonplussed some of the tour bus people are!
  9. Dakota Johnson is wearing a gown and jewelry that cost more than my car, and looks like she didn't wash her hair.
  10. I LOVE The Apartment! Watch it every New Year's Eve. (Should also mention how much I love love love Shirley MacLaine!!)
  11. 16 years old, millions watching her - good grief! Her poise is amazing!
  12. If you like sort of quiet, character driven movies - I recommend "The Station Agent" with PD, Patricia Clarkson, and Bobby Cannavale. That story that Cam was listening to when he freaked out - it wasn't clear (at least to me) if the hospital provided it or it was Cam's. If the hospital provided it, man, that's a bad call!
  13. IMO saying that Penny, Bernie, and Amy don't want to go to Comic Con isn't a statement that NO women want to go to Comic Con.
  14. I agree. I know some people don't like LCK. But like it or not, it's a legitimate part of this game. It's not like she cheated, she was sent to (and came back from) LCK by the rules of the game. I don't think anyone who comes back to win it all gets "an asterisk" as if their win was somehow not legit. But the viewer vote is a popularity contest (since viewers can't taste the food).
  15. I couldn't believe he specifically said he watched Shirley and Brooke to see what they did with their fish - but then he didn't wrap it. He should have figured there was a reason they both wrapped it. I remember the first time I tried a habanero. I had no idea what it was (in was in a basket of peppers labeled "salad peppers"). I popped a quarter size piece in my mouth and bit down. I refer to it as the day I discovered I could moonwalk. On the ceiling. While screaming.
  16. I loved her as Matthew's girlfriend on "The New Adventures of Old Christine" I recommended this show to my 85 year old mother (currently she only likes Big Bang and Mom). I realized tonight that the jokes may fly by too quickly for her to get into it. I loved "Are you two starting to look alike?"
  17. I think fillers have a lot to do with it too. Her face, her choice, but I couldn't help but be distracted.
