  1. I think it does work. When the chef told Claire she couldn't cook, she said "I've been making this food for my family for months now. I make a big meal once a week to make up for the time I haven't spent with them. Are you telling me I've been giving my family garbage?" So it works that her regular cooking (which she doesn't have time for now) was and is fine. Her attempts to make gourmet meals while distracted by the chef (and drinking wine) are the meals that are bad. When Cam wanted to go to the hospital and shrieked "It's my face!" - it cracked me up! Lily is like my grandniece (who is about the same age) - she just gets prettier every time I see her!
  2. I love Hannah's lemon shirt. I hope she knows she can pick up an Old Country Rose tea set pretty much anywhere (well, not for free though). This episode went by so fast! I'm loving this season so far.
  3. The rudeness would annoy me, but if he gave it to me for free to apologize I'd drink it! You know that saying "One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, FLOOR!" Yeah, two will do that to me. The guy showing them the tequila process said there were four (?) kinds, and they were starting with the clearest. I wonder if they tried all four kinds? If I cooked after that I'd be missing a fingertip or something.
  4. Right, JJ can't use his hands (I think I read that the actor who plays him can). JJ can operate his wheelchair, but they've shown Ray feeding him pizza, Jimmy pulling his shirt over his nose for him when Kenneth sneezed, and when he got drunk on Halloween the other kids held the cups of beer for him. (I just had a little mini Speechless marathon...) My conclusion on how JJ ate the candy? Magic~ Like when Kenneth showed up at the door fully dressed as Stevie Wonder, closed the door and ten seconds later opened the door and was in regular clothes! I don't think there was meant to be a logical or realistic explanation. He sees candy, wakes up and doesn't see candy! Loved when the last one just disappeared into his mouth and he just looked at Kenneth like "I DON'T KNOW!"
  5. I thought that too - like, can Bruno just do ALL the tributes? GM, BeeGees, Prince - let's just contract him for any performer!
  6. And the mic? It is dropped. Bruno Mars is just so charismatic!
  7. There's actually a documentary called "Paul Williams - Still Alive"
  8. The Paul Williams sighting after that song was.... random.
  9. I feel bad for Adele, you know she'd gonna beat herself up for this. She did what she felt she had to do to "not mess this up for him" - but now the media will make George Michael's tribute all about Adele. Not what she intended.
  10. Now we're getting into my groove... (this and later Metallica!)
  11. If I'm remembering correctly, someone said earlier in the thread that there will be ten awards handed out. I believe 74 were already handed out.
  12. That's one thing I'll say for Beyonce - she cares about what her fans like and she gives it to them - the rest of us can go pound salt. There's a connection between her and her fans and that's cool.
  13. I was one of the ones who had to google him. Like I said, my music choices are pretty narrow!
  14. Vulgar IMO. I'm very narrow in the music I listen to, so sometimes this show introduces me to someone else I might like. Plus, tonight I'm here for the Prince and George Michael tributes.
  15. My immediate thought was past contestants. John said for all he knew it could be a six year old. So I don't think their minds went to spouse/sibling right away.
  16. It made me think of an Andy Griffith show when Opie gives Miss Crump silk stockings - I guess it's an old story! I never noticed that Cam and Mitch have the picture with Lily's weird smile above the fireplace. I'm sure it's been there all along, I just don't notice things.
  17. Me too, it looked like he was poked with a pin! When Gayle was talking to Shirley about her dish there was a quick moment right before Shirley started crying that looked like she blanked out just for a split second. Like that moment just totally overwhelmed her and she went somewhere else in her head. I wanted to give her a hug! I guess no more "the fix is in" posts!
  18. Exactly. We didn't see them discuss it, but it had to figure in. And obsessed with creativity. Take a drink everytime Chef Cronut said creativity. As if Padma usually gives them challenges and then tells them to make it something they've seen a thousand times before.
  19. I think it was because it wasn't a main component. Bloody bowls. Looked like he wiped the edges with a bloody thumb. To go with the sweat I guess. Me too! Loved Gail's hat, loved Padma's "whaa?" look when John tossed "love your hats" at them. Felt bad for Silva, but at this point it's going to be hard for me to see anyone go (except John, but he cooked well this episode, so...)
