Maybe both characters inherited the old titles people have for their role in this hospital? The Papa term for the boss doctor on the ER floor and Mama for the boss of the ER nurses*. Historically, I assume the head honcho for the docs was male and the head nurse was female. The nicknames don't change even if the person does? *ETA : or their role to form the ER interns, or whatever. I don't even know if Rorish is the boss on the floor or not but you get my point!

Well, to be fair, it was 64 minutes including the credits, and I'm not watching live (not in the US), so those 64 minutes really flew by. The commercials seem to be a plague if it really took 30 minutes more to watch this episode. Ugh! I loved it. I wasn't spoiled so when it began and I understood that it would be an episode only about Morgan instead of the follow-up on the herd and Glenn death, I was pissed. If I don't have to like a character to find his story interesting, I like to have resolution to the more pressing problems like : thousands of zombies coming for their asses or the fallout from Glenn's death (or not death). But I was quickly drawn in by the performances and the story in general. Of course, the "all life is precious" mantra in the context of a zombie apocalypse is horseshit and will prove to be the end of the Alexandria community (I mean, maybe not any more than the herd coming but in an "enemy within" way) and I wanted to fucking slap Morgan when he didn't kill the Wolf. It's good to have convictions but if that conviction endangers the life of so many others, most of whom you just saw being absolutely useless in a fight for their lives, maybe you should put it to a vote? :) Anyway, bolded part, I'm with you for the timeline, Aikido takes years of practice to be an effective self defense martial art but I chose to believe he learned the beginners "simple" forms and trained 16 hours a day for 3 or 4 months having nothing better to do. And voilà I give you Morgan: the last Aikido master on earth.

S10.E22: Reunion Part 3
Pollock replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
At that point, if I were Brooks, I would fake my own death, grow a beard, put on a plaid shirt and go to Oregon to be a lumberjack. -

Bad but really really really pretty so I'm good with him. Maybe Frank is her way to work her daddy issues being that everybody on that show seems to have issues with their parents driving every decision they make. Isn't her father a mafioso of some sort? A I remembering wrong? I have a shitty memory, especially regarding characters I don't care that much about. -
S10.E19: Baptism By Fire
Pollock replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
If RH history taught us anything, you just know it's going to bite her where the enema goes to die when they'll divorce in a year or two. At this point, I just hope we will not watch yet another renewal whatever before that. -
S10.E18: Satan Loves Confusion
Pollock replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
Shannon is exhausting but I think I'm in love with her now. Between the horse story, the butt one, the organic make-up, the affair, the thingy to breath, the awkward hotel rendez-vous with her husband last year... she really let everything on the table, good bad ridiculous and/or really ugly. It's like she is in the first two seasons of the show while the other women are in the later fabricated ones. In some ways, I feel she respects more the viewers than the other ones, including her bosses. I love poop jokes and stories (mostly because people don't want to hear them, as if it doesn't exist like having periods), I'm crass like that so I was rolling. Better that than cancer scams. -
Thank you! She drives me crazy with her act. She bought a toy from a poor country and she cries because it broke. I just can't with her being the victim. To me, she's not. Worse, she's the one who, despite everything, continues to sacrifice her real family to continue this sham. If the justice in your country throw Mo out (as they should), I hope he's not the only one to be punished, she should be too. Here's wishing the sister get to have the children if she wants to.

From the Variety interview Fuck you Murphy. I forgot my rule: never, ever, ever ever read something Murphy has to say if I want to keep enjoying his shows.

S10.E17: Broken Records
Pollock replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
His mistake was to chose Vicki as a target. Has he chose someone likeable instead, nobody would have doubted him. -
Loved it! It was super stupid in the good way and funny like Enlisted was. So I fear it'll be short lived but I'll take what I can. It even got the Parks & Rec mention Rob Lowe saying "For literally no reason" with the little pause. Yeah !

Sleuthing a little bit this morning, I understand falling in love with a property like Mapperton. It's beautiful. http://mapperton.com/ It seems the husband running the estate isn't limited to what I thought he was doing (basically ordering the help around while cashing in on investments made by his ancestors and taxes from the public -being french and keen on choping heads off, I have a poor opinion of nobility). The house is open to visits, the gardens too, weddings, coffee shop, events... So he works I think. But still, I agree, if this isn't working, just go and take a job as a banker or something. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Montagu,_11th_Earl_of_Sandwich Sandwich licensed use of his title for a sandwich shop, Earl of Sandwich such as at Disney Springs Marketplace in Walt Disney World Resort, an agreement chiefly with Robert Earl, founder of the Planet Hollywood chain. I wonder if they are still getting money for the licensing of the family name. Julie is, or at least was, vegan : http://famous-vegans.blogspot.fr/2011/06/julie-montagu-nee-fisher.html https://radiancecleanse.com/blog/julie-montagus-7-word-food-philosophy/ She has books : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Julie-Montagu/e/B00T9S6HUQ/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1but in the intro of Superfoods, she says it's not about cutting all animal products. Maybe it's just to not cut herself from the meat eaters. And kale seems to be her thing: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-3000591/All-hail-Lady-Kale-meet-superfood-guru-Ladies-London-star-Julie-Montagu.html Quote from it: Does Julie ever just give in and order a cheeseburger? ‘Never, but then that’s because I don’t eat meat, it doesn’t agree with me. But I don’t want to be a bore – the other day I was having lunch with a girlfriend; I ordered kale, she ordered fries, but of course we ended up sharing.’ Would she ever order the fries herself? ‘I would.’ Thank goodness. ‘But if there is the sweet potato option you should always go for that.’

S02.E01: It's Time To Move On
Pollock replied to Tara Ariano's topic in How To Get Away With Murder [V]
We live in a world where this is happening. Anything is possible. [cue Disney music] I find Oliver very attractive: intelligent and funny always makes me horny. (ETA : I'm not saying that Christina Hendricks is a whore, just to be clear, but that sexy and nerdy mesh just fine) -

Pretenting you're someone you're not on the internet. Mostly, it's people who seeks relationships online and who lie about their physique, a man pretenting to be a woman or the contrary. Sometimes it's to scam money. There is a cool documentary film on the subject called Catfish and a tv show came out of it. Two guys are "contacted" by people who suspects they are being catfished and they go find the truth. http://www.mtv.com/shows/catfish/ The catfishes are mostly sad people on that show, or with really low self esteem like heavy boys/girls using photos from "beautiful" people as their profile pictures to meet someone. It's like putting a picture of you when you were 25 years old on Meetic when you're in reality 45. But x 1500. Given the extant of Meri's catfishing, creating multiple profiles who talk to each other to fake their existence, it seems the woman even payed men to have telephone talks with her etc... I think she's certified craycray.

S10.E16: Suspicious Minds
Pollock replied to zoeysmom's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
Even if I don't believe Brooks still has cancer and I never did (I'm not a good person), I want to be fair: Vicki could be medicated to cope with it. My mother-in-law went straight to prozac when my father was diagnosed. But yeah, Vicki isn't micromanaging Brooks on this and that was part of my suspicion too. I mean, if she was ever shawn as respectful of other wills, I would have understand but it isn't the case. Anyway, this storyline makes me sick. I resent Bravo very much for showing us a terminal illness in such a light. It could have been a raw and powerful story like the women struggles from the first two seasons of this show. It wouldn't be entertaining one of course but at least it would be real. But no, of course not, we have this fucking circus instead.... Disgraceful. I am really really sorry for your loss. Is this her previous house with their initials in the foyer that makes you say that? JennyMominFL, when you're in France, I fear you won't see the Real Housewives, it's not airing here and there is no legal way to see it to my knowledge. Despite that, I trust you'll have the best time in the Loire Valley (and if you can ignore parisians, you'll have a good time in Paris too!) and hope you have good weather. October can be a bitch for that in France. But hey, even when it rains, we still have good food, good wine and bitchin' castles! ETA : HumblePi, boy, you are all making me cry this morning. Sorry for your loss. -
This so much! She's incredible for that. To be honest, and boy did I love him, there is always a part of me that was saying when watching Fringe : boy, is Noble good or what? I was still seeing the (phenomenal) actor. When I watch Orphan Black, I never see the actress. Never. I just see her characters. That's what is making her performance Emmy worthy to me.

S06.E01: A Secret Marriage and Sister Wives Unseen
Pollock replied to Galloway Cave's topic in Sister Wives
Knowing nothing about US laws about it but trying to make sense of the situation too: could it be if Kody dies without being married to at least one of them and without a will, his relatives like parents or brothers inherit his estate (just typing Kody and estate in the same sentence is funny to me), not his notlegallymarriedwives? So with marrying one of them, polygamist men make sure all wives are protected, if the first wife acts in good faith of course. -
Great win for Allison Janney. I was happy she was nominated in two categories because she was outstanding in both shows but Mom is really dear to my heart so YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH !

Doctor Who, S05E01, at the end, when Eleven becomes his awesome self: "Is this world protected? Because you're not the first lot to come here. Oh, there have been so many! And what you've got to ask is... ..what happened to them? Hello. I'm the Doctor. Basically... ..run!" I always cheer watching Doctor Who but, even if Matt Smith isn't MY Doctor, this one always makes me jump, scream and HELL YEAH !

Indeed! My spidersense regarding conspiracy theories is tingling (just joking but X-Files is back soon so I'm back in training for those!). Coincidence? I choose to think not!

LSSC: Season One All Episodes Talk
Pollock replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Late Show With Stephen Colbert
Late to the party about the first episode, just got to watch it ! First, thank you for Larry Wilmore. I gave up on his show a month in. I'll try again because I really love Larry so it was frustrating to bail on him but it was too clumsy for me, I couldn't make sense of the debat at the end, so if they found their groove, I'll be back with real pleasure! I really liked the first episode but it's the first time I watch a Late Show thingy so I'm not bored with the format yet even if it's contrived for promotion. I cried of hapiness a lot for the five first minutes between Jon, the shield and Colbert mentionning his Mom (his hommage to her when he came back from his "mourning hiatus" still haunts me, I wish I could have written something so beautiful for my father's eulogy), I felt home again. I was a mess. A really happy happy mess. -
