Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode

When does Nicole have the time to get her hairstyle changed every day? Hattie is a Mrs. Adams? Man, Raines is a total asshole. Is this really the first time Rafe has gone under cover when it was personal? What about when he was protecting Sami? "The doorman's a tool." LOL Dammit, Nicole, you're a doormat. They really couldn't come up with some less familiar waltzes, huh? John Aniston isn't looking very healthy. Why would Eric picking up a picture of Hope and her family be all that dramatic? That cop wasn't going to take that. Jeez, Marlena, stupid much? -
I think the Atlanta defense can take the blame for that, not their offense.

We got a plaintiff in a rerun using the "word" beginningly today.

I've seen where people said it's your childhood pet followed by the name of the street you lived on. That's literally how Iggy Azalea took her stage name. She was born Amethyst Amelia Kelly.

The A's have announced that they are naming the field at the Oakland Colosseum as Rickey Henderson Field. There will be an official dedication on Opening Day.

Why do you say that?

If only Prague's pedigreed elite can get into this masked ball, how did Stefano/Rodolfo get a ticket? Why does Hope think Hattie got her out of jail? I thought she was blaming the other two women who stabbed her? I was very confused until I realized that the Stefano scene was a flashback. Dammit, Claire is NOT Ciara's BFF, she's her niece! Jeez, they keep talking about John like he's dead. How does one just wander into the hospital room of a prisoner? Hattie isn't a very good liar. :) -
JJ, you clearly don't know what you're talking about. 2 PM is rush hour in LA. LA has rush hour 24 hours a day. That's why distances in LA are measured in time it takes you to get somewhere, instead of miles.

Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads

In one of those asthma ads, they talk about asthma being "one of the pieces in my life." Shouldn't it be "one of the pieces of my life"? -
I saw a review that said she looks more like his babysitter than his girlfriend.

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage

I love the opera ad. -
I didn't get to see all of the Super Bowl, so I didn't see this, but apparently 84 Lumber ran their first ever Super Bowl ad. And it was about a Mexican mother and her daughter coming to America. Apparently they said to go to their website in order to see how it ended, and their website crashed. Here's the whole ad.

So I finished my two-day splurge of musicals, watching Rent yesterday and Kinky Boots today. My thoughts: Rent was at a small venue, a little over 200 seats. @aradia22 let me know that this was a non-Equity production, but it was still pretty good. There was a small musical combo - piano, keyboards, drums, guitar, bass, but they actually overpowered the vocals. I thought they really needed to turn down the volume on the musicians so that we could actually hear the singers. Katie Lamark, as Maureen, was superb. She really lit up the stage when she was on. Kaleb Woods as Roger had a really nice voice. My biggest complaint was that I thought that Skyler Volpe as Mimi, was too ... robust. I didn't see any illness. She seemed very healthy all the way to the almost-end. Still, it was worth the attendance. Kinky Boots, on the other hand, was awesome. Maybe because I had never seen any of it before, but it was highly entertaining. My biggest complaint was that Curt Hansen, as Charlie, had a rock music voice, not a musical voice. He sang well, I just didn't like his voice. J. Harrison Ghee, as Lola, was magnificent. He totally dominated the stage, and I loved him. When he sang "Not My Father's Song", and the Whitneyesque "Hold Me in Your Heart" ... wow. In addition, Rose Hemingway as Lauren was a lot of fun. The audience really enjoyed it, I could tell.

Andie McDowell's Southern accent was so thick in Greystoke, they had to overdub her with Glenn Close.

The guy is Ty Burrell from "Modern Family", who's basically playing the same character he plays on the show. In other words, obnoxiously annoying. -

Kassie DePaiva tweeted today that in honor of world cancer day, she is cancer free. She got a lot of positive feedback from former costars. -
Is he holding Sonny, too?

It's been running all week on the NFL Network.

NFL Players' Association is going to recommend that players not sign with the Bears if the state of Illinois actually passes a law to change workers' comp for professional athletes. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nflpa-threatens-to-deter-players-from-signing-with-bears-if-illinois-passes-bill/

It's not a real person, it's just a taped clip.

There was a reunion of AMC stars with Lucci on her co-hosting gig on Home & Family TV the other day. We don't get the whole thing, but here are some clips and photos: http://abc.soapsindepth.com/posts/all-my-children-reunion-124658/photos/cameron-mathison-amc-reunion-230424

Ugh. The annoying Wienerschnitzel pastrami ad is back.
