  1. Just in watching it seemed like David (the new guy) was more mature & didn't seem like an enabler. He also didn't seem to be living with them. His daughter was quite big also. Yeah her girls didn't seem fazed but they went through whatever regarding that off screen most likely. If she's been friends with David that long they probably knew him pretty well.
  2. Do they have a re-run coming up of both from last night? I didn't DVR it.
  3. Agreed on both counts. I'm not into all the made up celebrations. It seems like a need for attention, IMO. Hopefully they are not asking for or expecting gifts from everyone every time as that would be way over the top. I do love how respectful Randy is, & does always leave the bride with her consultant for changes. I was sold on his way the day one bride said something about showing more skin is better, & he respectfully disagreed! They need to hear that more often. Yay Randy!
  4. I think Whit gets her share of 'hate'; it's just well edited unless useful for herself. No one deserves it; it's just par for the course with reality TV unfortunately, & not really unexpected especially if someone's going to play the 'bad guy' - & for Whit's tried & true fans, Jiya is playing 'bad guy'.
  5. I haven't seen it yet, but it sounds like she is being very protective over her class, not wanting them to be treated harshly by the dance instructor. But if she truly had her 'class' & their emotional health in mind she shouldn't have agreed to this for them, without consulting them, especially after she experienced their competition personally. She is acting protective, but she really betrayed them first. If I went to any class specifically meant for all sizes, types, for acceptance & fun, where, twice I believe now, she's said to them upon arrival - I didn't tell you this because I thought you might not show up - or something to that affect, I would not trust that instructor to be holding true to the nature of the class, & that would be the end of that class for me. Even though this is all for the show, & the just for filming 'class' is in on it, she looks really bad in terms of how much she really cares for her their well-being. I guess her fans won't put that together though.
  6. What did she expect, coming on a reality show & acting bitchy? I'm not condoning any kind of bullying, I'm just saying doesn't she even read SM & see what goes on out there? Put yourself on TV, especially taking on someone who has so many fans, & it's unfortunate, but that is what happens. She probably wanted her own publicity. Well she's getting it & now gets to play victim too.
  7. Did she really give her kids to the grands to take back to OH?? She talked about how she wanted her kids to have a better life, without the abuse & drug addiction she grew up with, without the negativity & constant yelling, yet she sends them back with the same parents who abused her... what is wrong with this picture? In the "Supersized" I thought it said her mom was going to try to find a job back in OH, & that she had a background in nursing & childcare. My first reaction is to just shudder in stunned silence. But also, if she's going back to work, supposedly, where will the kids be going?
  8. Never saw it but guessing it's not as interesting as looking like you don't have to change for the wedding night out of the 'gown'. People with taste (& coverage) aren't going to make play on wedding gown shows anymore.
  9. I think they know what they're getting into before they get anywhere near Dr. Now, which is why they do have all the fast food they can eat on the way. I can't believe the 'somewhat' surprised (not professional actors) reactions to dietary guidelines he gives them at the office visit. It's probably quite a rude awakening actually implementing the diet, but I doubt they went into the unknown. They do know about the show enough to contact it/him for help somehow.
  10. Given everything is so staged, & these are not professional actors, I'm thinking there are setups of situations/scenes exaggerating already dysfunctional behavior. I can imagine the producers finding out they argue a lot, so telling them to create scenes like that, because we want to really SEE what happens. And when they ask about her favorite foods - they find out she loves this meatloaf, or whatever other foods, so they direct to lay it on thick; we really want to SEE how much you love it, etc. Then at the end, let's tone it down - we want to end on a positive vibe. And then of course editing to get exactly what they want to portray. I always SMH at the beginning with every single one of them talking about how much pain they're in, every day. Well, of course who wouldn't be at that weight? But they have to describe it in detail so we really get the picture lest we should assume 600lbs is comfy for folks. I haven't seen Nicole's story yet; they're just so long I have to wait until I can get to the DVR, usually on the weekend, for these now. And even then I have to watch in snippets. So her situation sounds bad, but I'm guessing the above not just on what I've read here but also on what I've seen with the other people's shows. They need to keep it interesting somehow to keep people watching.
  11. I know they often have no other way to get there, but them being propped on pillows, not strapped in at all, in the back of these vans must be illegal, & really dangerous. If any of them got rear ended it would not be good.
  12. A never gonna happen chuckle yeah, but this explains how long & hard they were laughing about her 'what kind of girl do you like' come on line.
  13. Just watched "and an awkward pirate". I had seen it before but hadn't remembered what a nasty, critical bunch they all were. All seemed out to win by slamming each other. They seemed to take the low pot shots, & just nit picked things that didn't have to be said. I didn't like them picking on the one bride's dog, but then I'm an animal lover. They said he was 'hyper' but I thought the dog did great, & so what if he panted? It's on their video & they will enjoy the memory. It won't bother them & they could still hear the ceremony, so that was unnecessary. They also picked on her dress, saying it was 'too vintage' & 'not her'. Outside of obvious fitting issues, I don't like it when they slam the dress. That's a personal choice & they really barely know each other enough to say it's 'not her'. I saw one Canadian show where they really dissed the dress & it pissed me off. That said, there were many things 'off', such as the tango in the one was just nasty, the table women, or whatever they're called were kind of creepy, & the pirate was weird. I can see commenting on those things. But self-described 'cake bitch' was over the top. She said "If I'm at your wedding & I approach your cake, be forewarned", then something about how she will criticize it to the last detail. Seriously rude. I saw a chef in one show that was nicer than her toward some mediocre food. "Cake bitch" should never get invited to another wedding ever.
  14. Was watching one yesterday with a bride who proclaimed in her TH how she is 'eccentric' & 'sometimes shocking'. I was thinking if she's saying that she's probably not either. She wanted a black dress; all were out of budget, so they were trying to find something where they could add a black belt; they were also putting a black veil on her. She said she didn't want something everyone else has worn, but was trying on all the same strapless dresses everyone else does. I don't know what she ended up with as I couldn't finish watching, but I thought going to a store like that & buying off the rack isn't the way to get something no one else has ever had. She seemed delusional & way too full of her 'eccentric' self, but then so many of these SYTTD brides seem so spoiled & self-absorbed. Usually their sense of 'eccentricity' or 'uniqueness' ends up just being bad taste &/or tacky.
  15. I'm not a prude but since when is having sex with the floor choreography? Jiya's class looks like a bunch of strippers in training. This story line is incredibly annoying - they're like a bunch of mean high school girls going at each other. They all need to grow the hell up. On another note, I found Buddy's comment about if he was 240 he'd be less disgusted with himself kind of funny. Hopefully he can get to his goals but he'd need to quit drinking so much. I wonder how tall he is? That would factor into weight as well. ETA: I can appreciate Buddy's self-deprecating sense of humor as I do that as well. It often brings on the Heather speech about not being negative etc, but to me, & maybe to Buddy, it's just about being real.
  16. Roni said in the beginning that she had tried to start offering healthier options for both of them but Michael's temper flared. I wonder if she was so used to giving up it may just not be easy for her to realize it's possible now. She also seemed to have a lot to deal with given his temper & might be self placating a bit food-wise herself just to live with him. I know she quit her job when he started working but I do hope she continues in the schooling the enhanced version said she was doing. She needs something for herself especially if he doesn't change. He wasn't making great choices in the restaurant at the end either; not too encouraging.
  17. I was okay with the way Dr. Now handled Megan. She was very supportive but bordering on codependent, if not already there. He had to make that break between them. And Diana is a grown adult; she needs to learn to shop & make her own meals for herself. Megan got her off the ground & she was lucky to have her help doing that, but, she really needed to get going with the program on her own. She also needed to learn to make the right choices even when the bad choices are around & tempting her. The family kept everything out of the house that would tempt her - again, very considerate, but only realistic short term. If Diana wanted to succeed she'd again have to learn to make the right choices for herself. She can't do that if there aren't choices to make. I was encouraged when the ice cream showed up in the freezer. The kids can have it & Diana had to learn to leave it alone, which she did. She showed some great self awareness in knowing it's a slippery slope for her, & I thought that was encouraging for her long term success.
  18. This. I worked for lawyers & not everyone with an advanced degree can put together a well written letter. That said, I don't feel any doctor would put their professionalism & possible career on the line writing something with such an offensive tone to a somewhat public figure. It would be an obvious huge risk given her social media presence & the amount of support she gets there from fans. There would be serious backlash for the 'doctor'. To me it seems like a ploy for sympathetic attention (she'll block the others).
  19. I would agree except it was upsetting his wife, given their financial troubles as well. He appeared to be a very selfish, self involved person to me; not good if you're married.
  20. The others do tend to sit waaaaaay down on the other end, so, maybe they're already well aware.
  21. I felt bad for Jessie being threatened like that - no reason for that & immaturity of the parents showing. She was sincerely concerned about her aunt since everyone else had shunned her so she was trying to help but was too young & unaware of addict behavior so Erica clearly just took advantage of that. They could have explained that to Jessie & how her way of 'helping' isn't helping instead of over reacting & threatening to cut off Jessie as well.
  22. I couldn't see Erica going to a nail salon. Besides most likely not fitting in the chair, she didn't go anywhere, & even sent her niece for food. When she spoke of having a PCA in TX, she mentioned not being comfortable meeting new people, so it seems like she might have had social anxiety.
  23. I think kids in colorful clothes is cute. But I just went through this with mine in explaining if they have a bright top or pants to put something solid or understated with it, so it's not too much. So I'm just wondering why LLR pics wouldn't do that - take a bright or heavily patterned piece, & put it with something dark or solid/understated? That way it wouldn't be so loud & assaulting to the eyes. It's like they have to advertise every piece they have so they have the models wear every piece they have - at the same time; yikes.
  24. I haven't been able to get through the whole show yet. Did they ever say, maybe in the extended version, if Erica ever worked? How did she afford her apartment, all that food, & apparently a car? (since it was posted here that she had been driving up to a few months prior to the filming) I guess TLC paid for the flight - 3 seats - hotels, etc?
  25. I seriously doubt anyone that size would make it out of an airplane in the event of an emergency. The preference would go to all who could move & move fast. She would no doubt be last & most likely left behind. I wonder what their safety procedures are in a case like that, but it would shock me if they allowed someone that size or that immobile to go first & block bunches of other people from getting out to safety.
