So Zeke just has a spare million dollars sitting in his bank account that he can use as ransom money? He’s a millionaire? What happens when the next ransom case comes up, is he going to come up with another million or say “sorry, spent it on that one lady in November.” Maybe, instead of using the money on cases, he can save it in case a team member is ever kidnapped and held for ransom. Shows like this love that type of plot. Or maybe use that money to find a good agoraphobia therapist. And how big is Zeke’s trust fund if he’s been funding this whole operation for years? I wonder how much disbelief we’re expected to suspend before we’re like “this crap is too implausible” and stop watching.

I’m curious as to why Sir kidnapped Gabi. I know kidnappers abduct children/teens to use as sex slaves or housekeepers but Sir has stated during flashbacks that he hasn’t touched Gabi. Did he just want someone to sit at his dining room table and discuss classic literature?

Sometimes, with very young actors, a person will be on set but off screen feeding the actor their lines. The actor says it and the feeders voice is edited out later.

I’ll admit, this was better than the trailers made me think it would be. Interesting how nearly everyone on Gabi’s team has a trauma/kidnapping background of some sort. I called Lacey being the young girl from the flashback, though a started to have a few doubts because I think she was called Bella in the flashback. The scar confirmed it, though. I don’t know how long Gabi has held her kidnapper captive but it’s done wonders for him! He clearly hasn’t aged a day in 20 years! 🙄

I’m a huge rhythmic gymnastics fan so very flexible people don’t bother me. The group from Kyrgyzstan, though, are taking it way too far. That stuff just grosses me out. Wished they hadn’t gone through. I like the story of the last performers and that they’re raising awareness about organ donation but they’re singing voices weren’t great. I wonder what their song in the next round will be, techno version of For Good? Also, anyone else notice that they’re blouse/cardigan colors were the same but reversed?

It’s weird to me, which Ninjas get full backstories and which get the WWWA treatment. I mean, we get multiple back story videos about a college student obsessed with his cat but a teenager who builds robots gets a blink-and-you-miss it demo of him working his robot car before his run. Maybe it’s just me, but I’d much rather see a backstory on something cool that takes skill, like how a high-schooler builds robots, than Jackson scootering around his university campus with a plush replica of his cat in a basket.

The country sisters song was catchy and I thought they had good voices. The world does not need ANOTHER song that glorifies drinking but I think they should’ve gone through. They were better than some acts who HAVE gone through, IMO. I thought the brass band was really unique! I liked that weren’t yet another dance troupe. Speaking of dance, the girl at the beginning was quite talented.

A few thoughts: Singing family creeped me out a little. LOVED the dog act! I LOVE border collies and was really impressed with this act. You know damn well that “do you have another song?” was the first sentence Simon had programmed into his talking computer thing. 36-year-old hip-hip dancer with the low cut top and mom jeans was good but that outfit…. Really liked the tap dancer!

Rolled my eyes at the very end with the two women racing each other and either Matt or Akbar saying “I bet baby Greyson’s proud of his Momma!” Dude, that baby is a literal infant who has no idea what’s going on. It’s all lights, noise and excited energy around him. He’s not proud of his momma, he’s thinking about his next bottle/breast-feeding. Reminds me of contestants on Americas Got Talent who yap about how they “want to show my kids what hard work can accomplish” or whatever, camera cuts to the kids toddling around in diapers, and I’m on my couch thinking “this would have a much bigger impact on your children if they were old enough to remember this and truly grasp what’s going on, the work you’ve put in, what it means to go through the to next round, etc.” Maybe I’m just a bitter old hag? Taylor Greene was great! I loved her shock and joy at hitting the buzzer.

Simon and his big, huge ego with the stopping singers in the middle of their song because HE’S an expert in singers and song choice and he can command the room simply by raising his hand and *poof* the music stops and everyone looks at him and listens to his every command. It happens multiple times a season and I hate it every time

Reminder to Matt and Akbar: the ninjas don’t die when they hit the water. I mean, we see them hug their families, talk to Zuri, dry off with towels. No deaths, no drownings though. Maybe it’s time to stop talking about how so-and-so “didn’t survive the third obstacle?”

Really tired of Howie’s big loud laugh guffawing at stupid, stupid crap. The only thing that impressed me about Alfie’s audition is Heidi knowing he was singing a Lady Gaga song on, what was that, the first note?

Watching Putri’s audition, I thought it was kinda funny how when she was talking about wanting to go to Julliard, become the biggest diva in the world like Whitney Houston, Simon sat there with this smile like he’s heard all of that 2,482 times. Because he has. I thought it was sweet how the sound/prop guy was asking her about the height of the mic, telling her to have fun, etc, but have we seen them do that with other people auditioning? Also, she needed to enunciate, I had a hard time understanding what she was singing and was glad I have captions on. Maybe it’s a language thing? I was talking to my mom and now she’s singing again? Why? What did I miss? Her second song was much easier to understand. Also, I bet she’s gonna get a golden buzzer!

I felt bad for the Ukrainian acrobats though I admired their determination. I don’t think they should’ve gone through, they weren’t ready. The judges should’ve told them “the skills you completed were great, your dedication is amazing but this isn’t your year. Keep practicing, get stronger, wobble and shake less and come back next year.” A little over an hour into the first episode and I’m already annoyed at Howie thinking the stupidest crap is funny.

I was also really impressed by Katie! Like everyone else, I wish Matt and Akbar didn’t mention her T1D every 15 seconds. Yes, her competing with the illness is incredible but how many times do we need to be reminded? Agreed on Jesse and Chris’s 5 year engagement. Has it been 5 years or does it just feel like 5? Maybe Jesses waiting to get that pool she wants. Did she ever get the pool?

Uh, if you’re investigating a crime, especially a rape/sexual assault, it might be best to take the person to a secluded room or somewhere as private as you can to question them, especially if they’re male and/or young and/or seem scared/reluctant to talk. DON’T question them with a bunch of people nearby, in earshot, including a bunch of nosy busy-bodies hanging out behind some police tape!

Yes, Gary did look very different without his hair and beard! Your comment about Greta reminded me of Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief at Vogue, who’s had the same bob haircut for about 40 years now. In a non-hair-related topic, I really liked how future Maggie (and Javi) had another mastiff!
