I've so far loved how Arrow is handily the Oliver/Felicity relationship. They are solid but not taking over the show. Unfortunately, the writers have decided to introduce a lame totally unnecessary lie to use implode things. It's annoying because there was room for conflict without that. The whole episode where Felicity is freaking out over Ray and reveals her fears of being overly consumed by her romance with Oliver was a good example of conflict organically stemming from who the characters are. Couples can get together and still be interesting (ex: Dr. Mike/Sully [Dr. Quinn], Monica/Chandler [Friends], April/Andy, Ben/Leslie [Parks and Rec])

I'm going to look for the ondemand version with extra scenes for science.

Joseph Gordon Levitt has done quite well but like Elijah Wood wasn't at Culkin level of fame.

I'm bitter that Moira and Felicity never got to have another scene together after Felicity told Oliver the truth about Thea's parentage and that we'll never get to see her reaction to Oliver/Felicity's engagement. Seeing some sort of evolution in the Moira/Felicity dynamic would have been so interesting to watch. There was more story for Moira, and it's terrible that so much potential was lost with the decision to kill her.

The cinematography for Christmas Melody for Mariah's close ups was extremely distracting. She chose some sort of soft focus lense or filter. I don't know which but there was a clear difference in how she shot herself vs. every other shot in the movie. It was like shots from another movie were being inserted and it didn't quite match.

I remember Ron Howard doing an interview and talking how important it was that his father continued to work full time to support their family and didn't rely on Ron or his brother's acting for family income. Howard's father felt it would be damaging if all the pressure was on the child to take care of the family.

I think Natalie Portman benefited from taking time off from acting to go to college. It allowed audiences to get some distance from thinking of her as a kid but then she wasn't famous for cutesy roles either. The Professional and Beautiful Girls were more mature parts for a child actor. I think the parents management of their kids career can definitely have an impact on longevity in the business. There's gossip that Thora Birches' father has stalled her career because he's extremely difficult to deal with, and she still lets him manage her. I heard Shirley Temple's mother was determined that her daughter got an education. Once Shirley reached a certain level of clout, her mother started limiting how many movies Shirley would do in a year. She insisted that Shirley be given enough time off so she could go to college. Jena Malone has been around for quite some time but wasn't at Kulkin levels of fame. She's transitioned quite well into adult roles. The Harry Potter cast seems to be successful making the transition to adult roles.

I don't know if the movie can capture the crazy of the book exactly right. All I ask is that Lifetime change the ending. This is one case where I don't want the adaptation to be faithful to the book. That ending is one of the worst I've ever read. It pissed me off so much.

I loved what the Dream Academy did with The Smiths "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" for Ferris Bueller. This instrumental version is lovely and is tied with the original as a favorite for me. Plus, when I hear the original version I always think of Cameron and how the song just goes with him. John Hughes was wonderful at music selections.
