  1. I don't mind some fluff but more variety would be fantastic. Stories with more depth and some realistic stakes is something Hallmark used to do well. I remember how much I loved Hallmark Hall of Fame movies when they were on CBS. You might get a drama, romance, a biography..... Those movies were must see for me and then there was a shift and all movies eventually became bland romances. I remember a change in quality when the movies moved to ABC and now on Hallmark exclusively. I love romance but don't necessarily only want to see only romantic movies on Hallmark especially since they've become so generic. I wouldn't even might all romance all the time if there was some variety in the storytelling (comedy, drama, tearjerkers). Also even when the leads have chemistry they're restrained by Hallmark not letting them generate as much heat as they could. I'm not saying I need a love scene but constantly saving the kiss for the end is ridiculous. Let the characters show passion a little more. I really liked the way the leads in Summer Villa had a nice sexual zing even if they weren't touching like in the "come here scene." I want to see more of that in these movies.
  2. I have no problem with Jon killing Olly because Olly killed him once and it made sense to eliminate everyone involved with the conspiracy to murder Jon. You have to be able to trust your brothers to not literally stab you in the back. Jon's safety and his goal of protecting everyone from the White Walkers were in danger because of the conspiracy. They were focused on the past threat and not taking seriously the current more dangerous threat. The last episode made it clear that the wall is vital for protecting people from the White Walkers. So somehow the Wall will end up going down. How? Will it be Bran accidentally? Are there people still alive in involved in the murder Jon conspiracy who will somehow destroy the Wall for vengeance? I think we will lose at least one more Stark, but I'm not sure who. I think Jon's safe until the final episode when he'll sacrifice himself for the sake of everyone. I hope I'm wrong because I really want Jon to have a happy ending. I don't think Sansa trusts Little finger but considers him a useful tool. She will keep him on her hook and not forcefully reject him because he's useful and also because she knows how ruthless he is. He's betrayed a lot of people and gotten away with it. Sansa doesn't trust anyone unless her circumstances force her too because she's been abused. People are either threats or a means to an end to her right now. The question is how does Sansa percieve Jon. Does she sincerely see him as family or was he a useful tool to get Winterfell back? Does she resent that the Northern Lords made Jon king and never gave her a second thought? Is Sansa as committed to defeating the White Walker threat as Jon or does she have other goals? Will Jon and Sansa be allies or enemies? I'm hoping Sansa will switch her focus to getting control of the Riverlands. Arya eliminated all the older male Frays and Edmure isn't strong enough to lead. There's a vacuum of power there that Sansa could fill which would let her strike back at the Lannisters and gain some power for herself. I think Arya will have the chance to reunite with her siblings but will not remain with them because she won't stop until everyone on her list is dead. She has made vengeance her whole life. She won't be able to think of her future until she's accomplished her goal. I think Jaime will turn on Cersi but I don't know if he'll kill her.
  3. I think she found him sending the divorce papers to her at work rather than at home was humiliating because she wanted to control who knew what and when about the state of her marriage.. Also she wanted to be the one to file the papers and end it, and Greg beat her to it. It was her idea to end the marriage, and so it pisses her off that he's the one to file the papers as if he was the one doing the rejecting.
  4. As long as it's handled better than Zach and Lisa dating on Saved by the Bell in which they dated one episode and it was forgotten every episode later. Still bitter about that. I'm hoping Zay and Maya get some nice moments. The build up to romance between them wasn't there but I'm on board cause I want more Zay and he and Maya could be really good.
  5. Did anyone catch Summer Love? The boss was so creepy , looking through her employee file for info so he can hit on her. I was shocked when she agreed to go out with him when he was being so inappropriate especially when she said she would only go out platonically, and he was clearly ignoring that. Wasn't surprised when he was nosy and looking through her phone. It was unrealistic that her phone had no passcode. I always enjoy Lucas Bryant in movies. I thought he and Rachel had chemistry but needed more of a romantic build up. I was confused about why she didn't tell her professor the specific reasons she quit rather than vaguely saying she quit for personal reasons. Your boss stealing from you is a valid professional reason to quit.
  6. Girl Meets Bear is up on Youtube. So Zay/Maya is happening. I always thought Zay would be a good love interest. It's weird that he asked Josh's permission but was great when he said he didn't care if Josh was okay with it. I do appreciate Zay's point that Maya shouldn't be so fixated on dating Josh in the future that she misses opportunities to date right now. I just didn't like Zay including Josh in what should have been a Maya/Zay conversation only. Also thought it was odd that he framed dating Maya as a way to avoid them being third wheels around Lucas and Riley. I think it would have been better if he asked Maya out simply cause he liked her without all that Josh, Lucas, Riley baggage. Still I like the idea of Zay/Maya and accept that this show is clunky as hell in it's execution of story lines especially when it involves romance. I will give the show credit for handling Zay/Maya/Josh less obnoxiously than Riley/Lucas/Maya.
  7. I made a couple of videos The Way I Feel Inside - Jaime/Brienne No One is Alone - Stark Children
  8. The thing that was lacking was Riley showing she cared about Zay's feelings through conversation and/or some sort of gesture. The writers acted like the important thing was about the how stealing the cookie affected Riley when Zay was the one who was hurt. Riley barely apologized and did nothing to reach out to Zay. All she did was demand forgiveness for herself. Riley is extremely self-centered and the people around her reinforce it while telling her what a good person she is.
  9. Does CD ship alternate Earth Felicity/Tommy cause that makes me happy? I doubt CD can come back with his commitment to NBC unless he gets permission and can work it around his show's schedule.
  10. That would have been an interesting twist if Riley realized she did something that she could not take back. I don't like the idea of Zay losing someone and being sad, but I think that would have been a solid way to end the episode. Imagine Riley showing up for the debate and Zay's not there because he had to return to Texas because his grandmother was either sick or dying. Then, she couldn't just pressure him for forgiveness but would have to live with doing something mean that Zay wouldn't get over quickly. I hate that he forgave her when she was being a jerk about the way she was demanding forgiveness. Her "I want forgiveness now cause you are a good person" attitude was really awful. She ate what could be the last cookie ever from his grandmother, seeing him visibly upset about what she did then criticized it's taste, gloated about how she wasn't going to apologize because what she did to him felt good, not once showed any empathy for how he might feel, and then insisted he forgive her immediately so she could feel good about herself. Nothing, I saw made Zay forgiving her after all that make sense. She was obnoxious to him from beginning to end. The friendship should have been strained and Riley should have learned actions have lasting consequences.
  11. I really hated Riley demanding Zay forgive her on her timetable. When you apologize it means accepting the wronged person may or may not forgive. Riley is not entitled to forgiveness and shouldn't act that way. Plus she didn't even really apologize. She just said she felt bad and then emotionally pressured Zay into saying he forgave her. She never for a second seemed to show any consideration of his feelings at all. It came off as being all about making Zay forgive her so she could feel better. I don't understand these writers. They are trying to betray Riley as good, but she's comes off as stupid, narrow minded, and entitled. I loved that BMW episode when Cory realizes he needs to make an effort to really be Angela's friend. The original show wasn't perfect but it explored nuances that GMW doesn't seem capable of. Everything on GMW is so dramatic, black & white, and ridiculous. There is way to much telling instead of showing from these writers.
  12. Zay had one cookie baked by his grandmother who is getting older and may not bake anymore. She only sent him one cookie because she thinks less of something makes it extra special. To prove to the others she can be bad, Riley eats the last cookie Zay may ever get from his grandmother.
  13. I hadn't considered a false positive. Still I think anyone around Luke is in danger. If they can't get him, anyone close to him is a target.
  14. My Time Warner guide has it labeled Girl Meets the Real World.
  15. There are clips available from the upcoming episode Girl Meets Real World. Riley really comes off as annoying. I don't mind that she's an optimist but I do mind that the writers make her look ridiculously naive to the point of being an idiot. I don't care that her friends try hide how the real world works from her. There's tv and the internet, and Riley has eyes and ears. Plus, she knows Sean's backstory with his family. It's unrealistic that we're supposed to buy how sheltered she is. That bad things can happen should not be news to Riley. Also, she's rude to Zay to make a point to the others and that's just so unlikable. I prefer the Lloyd Dobler (Say Anything) approach to optimism where he's aware of bad things but still strives to be positive. Lloyd wasn't a fool; he was determined to find happiness in things. Cameron Crowe referred to it as "Optimism as a revolutionary act."
  16. Tommy and Felicity are one of my favorite "should have been" tv couples. Never had a scene together and yet I'm convinced they could have been a great pairing.
  17. That's my take on it too. Whatever discomfort Joan feels about how she earned her partnership in the end she was glad to have it. It made her independently wealthy and able to to start her own business by the end of the series despite not getting the full value from Mccann buying her out. Where would Joan have ended up without the partnership? Dawn had Joan's old position and thought she was going to be out of a job because of the merger with Mccann. Joan's a resourceful woman so she would have found some position somewhere, but she wouldn't have had the financial security. The partnership provided Joan with opportunities.
  18. With Jaguar Don's ego was at stake. He wanted to be the one that got that account. That's why he was so willing to just throw the account away. He didn't feel he'd earned it and didn't like enduring the price of being in Herb's horrible company. Herb was a reminder that Don wasn't the hero who got the account on his own. In the end Don and Joan's lovely work friendship was destroyed. Joan wanted her prostituting herself to be worth it, and Don was casually throwing the sacrifice of her dignity away. I think Joan viewed Don as being on her side in that whole situation initially and so she was really thrown by his decision to drop the account. It's like they were running a relay race and Joan ran the hell out of it but when Don was doing his part he just decided to quit rather than cross the finish line which diminished Joan's effort. Joan prostituted herself for financial security and could be vicious toward anyone who threatened that security because than her actions would end up being worth nothing. Regarding Don's marriage to Megan. I think he married her for the ways he thought she was similar to Peggy (a partner in advertising) and different from Betty (a more warm mother) and different from Faye (who wanted Don to confront his issues rather than avoid like usual). Later he discovers she's not as much like Peggy as he thought. He realized he didn't get a second mother to his children with Megan. She was willing to be babysitter and pal to the kids when it was convenient to her, but Megan was never going to tolerate Don's constantly leaving the kids as her responsibility the way Betty did. Betty wasn't the best parent, but she could be counted on to be there whenever the kids needed her. Betty and Don were both unhappy with their lives but Betty never abandoned the kids in the ways Don would. Don could get away with his self indulgent escapes because he knew Betty was solidly there for the kids. Megan didn't seem to understand how Don's past mattered and just wanted Don to focus on the present while Faye better understood that Don wasn't going to escape his issues just by ignoring them. Don married his idea of Megan and then later learned who she really was. Megan on the other hand worked at the company and was Don's secretary. She was familiar with his drinking and womanizing especially since he started up with her while with Faye. Don apparently told her about being Dick early on. Megan had a better idea of who she was marrying than Don did and yet still seemed surprised. Don married a fantasy to escape dealing with his issues while Megan was arrogantly or naively believing that somehow she would be the woman to change him. Both are responsible for how poorly things ended up since neither was approaching the marriage realistically.
  19. This episode managed to be scary and funny too which is a hard combination this show does well. The stuff with Laurel was so disturbing. Plus we got to see how wide spread the takeover has been so far. There was a lot of people in that room responding to Gustav's device. I wonder if the sound waves can be used as some sort of deterrent. Like a sound that will keep the aliants from entering a room. Gareth has to start believing Laurel now. He's seen too many weird things not to wonder if her theory is correct. It was great to see him help Laurel when she needed it. I wonder why the aliants haven't targeted him for a takeover yet since they are going after everyone in Laurel and Luke's orbit. I had a feeling they'd go after the dad. I wonder how Laurel will handle that revelation.
  20. There's a commercial Kaley Cuoco does to protest Canadian seal hunts and the first time I heard it I thought she said "Comedian" seal hunts.
