  1. But she was "used very badly". She took in an orphan child and raised her as her own daughter. She didn't know that the child she gave her heart to could be ripped away from her. Edith conspired with her husband to deceive her. Mr. Drew is at fault here too but Edith wasn't exactly falling all over herself to be honest about the situation with Mrs. Drewe either. I actually can't judge, at this point, what kind of a mother Edith is-- I certainly don't judge her for having a nanny/baby-sitter. However, I have to say, that judging by the decisions she's made for Marigold at this point in time, she's certainly not going to be a consistent or emotionally stable mother.
  2. Yep. I don't hold Mrs. Drewe's anger against her one bit. She has earned the right to a bit of malice at this point. I even like Edith but what Edith did to that family is completely messed up. Granted Mr. Drewe helped Edith out but there's nothing wrong Mrs. Drewe exercising her rage at this, to do otherwise would be super unhealthy.
  3. Yes, I just figured that Juliette had surprise on her side. Adalind wasn't prepared to fight a fellow hexenbiest.
  4. I really hope it's not Nick's kid. It would bring additional drama that's not at all necessary for the story at this point in time. Maybe it's a second royal baby? I know Claire Coffee is pregnant but I just don't know what that would bring to the story at this point in time.
  5. I hope the plan isn't to break up Nick and Juliette. I like them as a couple and I really don't want to see Nick with woman of the week.
  6. I just don't have faith in this show anymore. I had no intention of giving up on Sleepy Hollow but I can't make myself watch the last episode so I think I am out. Television shouldn't be a chore.
  7. I know Jane and Rafael are supposed to be the One True Pairing for this show but the way she moved on from Michael immediately makes me like her character a lot less.
  8. Completely agree with every single point. I am not sure I can continue to enjoy Grimm if Nick goes down this path without any implications for him in the future. I realize in a post-911 world we're all rah rah about hunting down the terrorists but there's a price to be paid for that as a society-- not one that I am personally willing to pay. I don't think that whole scenario was particularly heroic but that's just me.
  9. This made me LOL. I enjoy both watching this show and hating on this show but I think it was a missed opportunity. This is an excellent cast and an excellent premise-- it's too bad the writers weren't up to par.
  10. Yes, I think the show runners missed a major opportunity in showcasing life cycles. I would have enjoyed seeing Amber as a mother and Sarah as a grandmother. So dumb.
  11. The Sleepy Hollow writers could probably take lessons from the writers of a much less critically acclaimed show, Grimm. The Grimm writers seem to tweak the show ever so slightly, here and there, whenever they figure out things are not working. They don't let the fans dictate their creative choices but seem to respond subtly to popular fan opinion. Also, while Nick remains the lead on Grimm, the show does a good job of allowing each character to have certain show case episodes. As a result, each character feels whole and fleshed out on the show without losing focus on who the actual leads are.
  12. I seem to follow that fate too. I love Juliette for the most part and over-empathized with Skyler White. The only popularly disliked female character I also dislike is Katrina on Sleepy Hollow. I think Juliette as hexenbiest is a good move. I like that the Grimm writers seem to respond to fan opinion for the most part by subtly tweaking parts of the show that don't work. Besides the mostly boring first half of S2, I think Grimm has been pretty good to its fans.
  13. I hate to say it, and I am sad to even consider it, but I think it's just plain old racism. If it had been the other way around-- if Katia had been the lead in S1-- would they have tried to replace the pretty blonde/red-headed leading lady with the African American minor character? Either that, or KW is really well connected and someone powerful pushed for her. I just don't understand, strategically, why they would try to change the lead of a popular and critically successful show. I understand trying creative and interesting things with plot, but there's absolutely no reason to change the leads.
  14. They totally ignored what both the critics and fans loved about Sleepy Hollow in the first season. The chemistry between NB and TM. The fact that many loved that NB, a talented woman of color, was the lead in a genre show. I am glad that the ratings dropped. I am glad their racism bit them in the ass. I am not saying that they're card carrying racists, I am sure they're perfectly nice progressive people. But they're the type of people who patronizingly think that OTHERS are so racist that a black female lead won't be able to carry a show (proved wrong, NB carried the show last season). As soon as they tried to make the pretty, blonde lady the lead all the fans left. They suck. They suck as writers and probably as human beings.
  15. I don't know about Katia Winters but Goffman seems to have nine lives. He ruined White Collar and lived to ruin another show. Is he the son of an industry heavyweight?
  16. She is basically a central character treated as a recurring one. To add insult to injury, one with no dimension. Crane has friends, hobbies and skills. Abbie has a profession and nothing else. It's a huge waste of Nicole Beharie. I feel like she's going through the motions at this point and isn't trying.
  17. I need the writers to know that Sydney is not cute. She's completely obnoxious and entitled. They also prop her up at the expense of Victor which is really, really annoying. I rolled my eyes so hard at that because It's so easy to silence an iPhone. It's probably the first thing Joel would have done. You don't even have to go into settings to do it. And no one other than my husband knows the password to get into my phone but I am not a parent.
  18. I think I agree with you there, it made me uncomfortable. But, I think it makes sense within the context of Sarah's life. She's made a lot of bad decisions impulsively and I think this is her maybe trying to rein in her impulsive personality and trying to make a decision with practicalities in mind.
  19. Well, to be fair, the character of Monica really wanted children. I think if someone knows that they really want a child, they wouldn't be willing to spend a lot of time on a relationship not headed in that direction. I may be biased because I really dislike the character of Richard. My favorite guest star was probably Brad Pitt. I just thought he had good comedic timing and awesome chemistry with the rest of the cast. My least favorite was, unbelievably, because I usually love him, Paul Rudd. He was just so blah in the series.
  20. Hell, Lauren Graham is over 20 years older than me and sometimes I feel as if she looks better than me. I think she looks great. WRT to the house, I think Camille and Zeke mostly had native plants hence no grass and the new family put in a lawn.
  21. Thanks everyone! I've seen both of them in multiple things. Probably because I watch too much TV.
  22. Does anyone recognize the younger female teachers? I feel like I've seen them in other things and I can't find a cast list anywhere. It's driving me a little batty. Sorry you guys! I am bad at the internet.
  23. Wasn't Aunt Marie a librarian? I had always imagined that her profession made her especially motivated to not only preserve the books created by Nick's branch of the family but also to preserve and collect anything else she found.
  24. Ehh, he may be a scammer and a con-artist but he hasn't shown any signs of being abusive (from what I've seen). Is he hurtful to her with his obvious disdain? Yes, but I don't think he ever pretended to be in love with her. It's a business arrangement for both of them. He's super shady but that doesn't mean he's violent.
