Truly, don't waste your time. I am one that has Food Network on a lot, and when this show comes on, TV gets turned off.

Whenever I need to just cry ... Steel Magnolias does it for me. I watch it every so often and cry my eyes out. Then all is well in my world. Yes, I am weird.

I still remember that one episode where she made 3 burgers using 2 pounds of meat. And then she loaded them with more stuff. I swear, they were like the size of my head.

I took one for the team and watched Patricia Heaton's cooking show today. Um, no. Just no. I love Tricia Yearwood, I like Valerie Bertinelli ... once we got Marilu and now Patricia ... please stick to acting.

I finally, in a moment of weakness, saw the You Tube thing about The Grand Tour of the TTH. I must admit ... I thought The Prayer Closet was something we all made up. Now I see it's true. Until we remodel ... I call the folding chair!

Close! My birthday is August 9 so I just missed the "11th to the 15th of August" cut-off date LOL! First of all, HFC, very sorry about your aunt. But this reminded me of my grandmother's wake. She passed away one month shy of her 100th birthday. My cousin and I walked up to Grandma's casket. Cousin looked at Grandma and then looked at me. "She looks so old!" ???

I also felt it was rushed. It had potential, but could have been so much better. (Said the Monday morning quarterback!) It just seemed like she was with Wolfgang Puck for like a minute ... then on to the next ... and the next. I would have preferred longer segments with each person. YMMV.

Sew Sumi ~ I am truly so sorry for your loss. I have lost 2 sisters ... one who was an extension of me and who I talked to every day and I was a mess when she passed ... and another ... not so much. Both pains are the same, however. I only have one more sister left. Unfortunately in the "not so much" column. I am very, very sorry for your loss.

No scorching from me. I agree with you. I think Valerie has the cooking chops AND she is comfortable in front of the camera. Look at Tiffani Theissen. Her show is pretty good. I want to learn something from the cooking shows I watch. The one "actress" show I do not care for is the one with Hailey Duff - "Real Girl's Kitchen" - or something. Just don't like it for some reason.

I bought that knife. I love it! It is my favorite now. My most frequently used knife. I bought it on Amazon ... not horribly expensive.

See, I have always brought food for a family going through a death. BUT ... If I am close enough to ring their doorbell and drop off food, I will give them something that I have already made for them in the past. That I am fairly certain that they will like. For people that I "know" but don't REALLY know, Honey Baked Ham is my go-to. And yes ... VeraCharles, can I have that cake even if no one dies? Please?
