  1. According to Sean Pertwee's twitter page, they began shooting the last episode around March 12 and they got the renewal notice on January 19, so that would have been some serious, burning the midnight oil rewriting if they went that route.
  2. MeTV is editing Gilligan's Island. I saw the radioactive vegetable seeds and the Hamlet episodes this saturday morning. Both had scenes cut. In the radioactive vegetable seeds, the cut scene is where Mary Ann tells them some kind of saying like the plants need one part sunshine, two parts water and three parts love. The Professors reads aloud from a book and the final sentence repeats Mary Ann's saying. In the Hamlet episode the cut scene was Ginger's "Bread??!! You wanna bread??! I'll give-a you-a bread!", BUT they kept her imitation of Marilyn Monroe. Furthermore to keep the continuity, Harold Hecuba doesn't mention the "bread!" dialog when he's mocking Ginger's acting range.
  3. Good BBQ makes you do weird stuff.
  4. So coincidentally, Pam Smiley hits the local news for a high school scandal the same week she appears on Judge Judy??? Wow! Whatever will the trustees of the children's foundation do????? ;-)
  5. This has been a trend in recent years: shows rushing through the premiere season because it might not be renewed. I think it's because whatever fan base it developed would like closure of some kind in the boxed DVD set and the producers could still make money with the DVD sales of the "complete season". It was like this with Empire too. Over the top and or rushed plots to attract viewers (read: get the ratings needed for renewal) and build a fan base. The tricky part is that season 2 needs to be as good or better than the premiere season, which means the writers have to be top notch.
  6. Mush Mouth: Hey, mumble mumble mumble, for me? What he really said "Hey, I don't have money. Can you buy this drink for me?" What she hears "Hey, I admire your intelligence, beauty and demeanor. You're the only goddess for me?" Mush Mouth: Mumble, mumble, mumble, mumble, baby. What he really said: "I'm currently unable to support myself let alone a family, perhaps one day maybe" What she hears "I love you. I love you. I love you. Let's have a baby."
  7. I remember watching Vicar on the NYC PBS station in the 90s when I lived there for a couple of years. It was so funny. I loved the Christmas Dinners, Alice unable to believe I Can't Believe It's Not Butter isn't butter, Radio Dibley----Geraldine's expression when Frank comes out is priceless, Hugo and Alice's wedding when that woman comes in and claims the groom was her husband etc. then Hugo turns around and she says "Sorry, wrong church. Bye." Great show, imo.
  8. Lady Chatterjee is the female version of Count Bronofski. I think she was a great character. The first book in the quartet has many parallels to the remaining books. Daphne and Sarah, Hari and Ahmed, etc. with Merrick trying to marry his way up the class ladder in both instances. Unfortunately, he succeeded with the Laytons, what he couldn't with the Manners. Not to mention, in the book, Daphne was wealthy: she inherited a considerable amount of money from her parents and stood to inherit Lady Manner's wealth too. So if Ronnie had married her, he'd not only have the class but also the money. I'm not sure if Sarah or Susan were a financial jackpot like Daphne was. "The strange and unsavory circumstances surrounding the death of Colonel Merrick" are strange and unsavory. Susan was away in Pankot when Merrick was murdered so she wouldn't have seen the unsavory bits. I have to re-borrow the books because I wasn't able to read it before my time ran out and they didn't give me any renewals (someone else probably had it reserved). My guess is that the servants and the colonial government (Lord Mountbatten of Burma , I'm looking at you!) were involved in the clean up and cover up. They didn't want Merrick's murder to add more tension to an already tense situation. Nigel worked for the colonial government after the War, so he was in-the-know with a lot of things. I think he was with military intelligence during the war. Pandit Baba and his followers are on the list for potential murderers. But I think the Havildar's friends/family could be on the list too. The Havildar was Muslim and suicide is a sin in that religion. Even if he was Hindu, suicide would still be taboo. Basically, anyone who had an axe to grind with Merrick (including Sophie Dixon and the crew provided they were still in India) would be suspect, imo. Ummm....I guess I've watch Murder on the Orient Express one too many times, because I can completely imagine everyone Merrick every slighted taking a stab at him.
  9. Speak? I thought something was wrong with my hearing because he sounded like he was talking with his mouthful of mush! In my family we have a saying "Rocks don't hurt people. People hurt people." Don't forget, Sheri also went to Carlos' home and probably did some horizontal bumping there too. I was waiting for JJ to have Carlos testify. But she just let him sit there looking constipated.
  10. That depends how the Parent Wayne's wills were set up and how the business is set up. Typically, the legal guardian has the ability to make all decisions for the ward---including financial ones.
  11. If the first part of it is like a make over show, count me in.
  12. It depends which canon pieces they choose to use (since the DC Universe is so screwed up after Crisis and all the reboots). Anyhow, I'm just shocked that Barbara is able to drop off the map for several months and without her art gallery suffering for it.
  13. I agree most people wouldn't be able to recognize Bruce as Batman. But like LordPercy Blakeney and Don Diego de la Vega, Bruce Wayne has to be the last person anyone would suspect of being Batman for the secret identity thing to work. He has to be so far off the radar that anyone who even entertains the idea that Bruce Wayne is Batman is considered a nutcase. Again,if the writers continue to show Nick and Nora Charles...er.....Bruce and Selina playing junior PIs then it will be harder for anyone who knows Bruce to think he is anyone but Batman, when Batman finally shows up. Depending on which canon, another person on the list of who knows Bruce is Batman
  14. I figure they're all in denial. I think it was explained best in Buffy, when she gets the Sunnydale High School Protector award---because everyone knows weird stuff happens and everyone knows she's always there to help when it does, but they quite can't put their finger on exactly how the two things are related but they know it sort of is and isn't. Maybe Alfred will give Bruce a copy of Baroness Orczy's The Scarlet Pimpernel or they'll watch the 1934 Leslie Howard and Merle Oberon film. But however they choose to do it, the writers have to start developing Bruce's carefree, playboy image sooner than later. For example, Bruce should be learning that the box step can only take you so far on the dance floor and the difference between black tie and white tie in relation to "formal" functions. Seriously, the only one appropriately dressed for a ball was Selina, who was actually wearing a ball gown, not an evening gown like Barbara.
  15. I have a feeling Reggie isn't dead. Neither of them checked to see if he was dead and since this is tv/comics..... I commented on the Bruce and his Two Dads thread that it's okay for the writers to show us that Bruce is developing his detective/ Batman skills, but they also have to cool it down because Bruce needs to develop "Bruce Wayne" into the filthy rich, playboy Gotham would never suspect of being Batman. He won't get that reputation if he continues to run around playing Nick and Nora with Selina Kyle.
  16. He was also Niles the butler on The Nanny. With Nicole Tom (Maggie on The Nanny) showing up a couple of episodes ago as Loeb's crazy daughter, i wouldn't be surprised if other Nanny alums appear. Erin Richards has more chemistry with Milo Ventimiglia than she did with Ben.
  17. I can see where they're going with Bruce Wayne Junior Private Eye. BUT, they'll have to introduce a way to Scarlet Pimpernel him because if he is too clever and too detectivy now, it will completely blow his cover when he does become Batman. Someone--maybe Alfred directly or maybe Gordon indirectly---needs to make Bruce Wayne into the next Lord Percy Blakeney, so Batman is free to do what Batman does.
  18. Why do I have a dreadful feeling that 1. Barbara teams up the the Ogre to get rid of Lee or 2. Ogre targets Barbara and does a "whoopsie! Sorry Ma'am, but my sources swore you were Gordon's honey. Pardon the confusion. Oh and before you leave, could you drop my shirts off at the dry cleaners?"
  19. I'm not missing a minute of Charles Dance either! I love how dignified Bronowsky is when he's gossiping or fishing for information. But this is an episode where you can see how much Sarah loathes Merrick. Merrick: Sarah I think your father is tired. Sarah to Col Layton: Ronald thinks you're tired. And her slight "ick!" face she makes when Merrick kisses her cheek.
  20. i think SHE was more shocked by it than her kids. Her eyes were bugged out when she was herding her kids away. Anyhow, it was about 98 degrees that day, so I'm sure the sheep was happy to get a haircut.
  21. first off I hate the schedule change because I missed last week's episode. Secondly, microwaving a white sauce was a fantastic idea.
  22. Heeeee heeee! I rewatched A Evening at the Marahranee's. I wanted to slap Merrick for being such an asshat. I loved when Col. Layton says "Ronald's whisky" and Sarah immediately corrects him by explaining the whisky's provenance. Merrick's smug smirk dissolves into a scowl.
