  1. Whenever your child is the one controlling the household.
  2. There are things worse than being single. Part of me wishes she would escape JB/Michelle and being a babysitter for all her nieces and nephews. But I guess Jana believes that's better than having to go to work every day and pay her bills in her mind.
  3. It wasn't unexpected, but it's still so sad. Watching Bill in the Christmas episode tugged at my heartstrings. It seemed like he knew this was going to be his last DOOL Christmas. My condolences to Susan, his family and friends, and his DOOL family (including the fans). We will miss you.
  4. I like her haircut and I admit I'm jealous of how healthy her hair looks now that it's cut.
  5. Cameron, if you have heart problems, they didn't appear just during the four weeks of the show. You had problems before. Maybe the show exacerbated it and made you realize you had heart problems, but don't blame the show (and listening to him I kinda tuned him out after he kept talking about keeping his pulse below 140, so maybe I just took it that he was saying it was the show). Brennan is so shut down and then during the Aftershow, he was upset that Emily didn't ask about his relationship with his sister. Brennan, you weren't answering most of the questions to begin with. Emily, run now, before Decision Day. No one deserves to be treated the way Brennan is treating you.
  6. I agree. If it were between a husband who quit his job with insurance and benefits to work with his wife and sisters at a boutique (Zach) or a husband who went to school to become an electrician but never worked in the job and decided he could make more money selling his children in videos (Evan), I'll take the guy who seems like he could be a controlling jerk, but at least he is making money for the family and Josie has her business, so it's not like he is telling her she can't do anything. I'm not a Kelton fan either, but in comparison, he's not the worst of the bunch (and that's not really a compliment).
  7. I usually go to church with my mom and let's just say I'm in my 50s and she's in her 80s. I'm saying that because yesterday she got started laughing while watching two people in front of us (hard to describe, you had to see it). I finally leaned over and told her she needed to the other end of the pew because she was a bad influence (laughing while I said it). But we both sat there trying not to laugh out loud. I can just imagine what Alyson, Nurie, or Jill would have thought of our behavior yesterday.
  8. I hope Jill doesn't see this comment. She will take the video down because she can't let anyone (even her daughter) be better than her.
  9. I hope that Gypsy will be more like Elizabeth Smart, who is working as an advocate for victims, but you don't hear that much about her now (occasionally but not often). I know Gypsy is current news, but I'm afraid she won't want to leave the limelight and what that might mean for her future.
  10. Stop posting your kids in the ER, Alyssa. I know you have to sell your family to make money, but please give them some privacy when they are in the ER or at the doctor.
  11. I realize that soaps don't have the budget they did in the 1980s and 1990s, but what happened to the writers? Some storylines don't need a huge budget, just writers who know how to write.
  12. Years ago my dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma and I admit before he died, I was praying for his death. Not because I wanted him to die, but because the dad I knew was no longer there. He never met a stranger - he could talk to anybody, but one thing the tumor did was take away his ability to talk. I remember talking to a friend and she told me it was a loving prayer. But if anyone else told me that God chose my dad (who had lived a long life) to die for reasons, there would have been hell to pay. I cannot imagine telling another mother that her baby died because of God (or however Kaylee phrased it) while my own child was there fighting for his life. But then again David and Jill did not raise their kids with any compassion, so their kids don't have that towards other people.
  13. Allie doesn't need a doll and doll clothes for Christmas. She has real-life babies she is expected to take care of. I wish Allie would decide to break free from this family as soon as she can. She is going to be so tired of raising her siblings that she may never want to have her own family some day. She shouldn't be expected to just get married and have her own quiverfull.
  14. My mom and I were talking yesterday about another fundie homeschooler. Her parents did not graduate from high school and honestly didn't have that much education. But they did make sure their seven children all graduated from high school. My mom and dad wanted me to go to college. I took a while to figure out what I wanted to do, but I eventually did get my degree. Kaylee will not be able to teach Gideon (and her future children) beyond the second or third-grade level. I know it will never happen, but I wish Jonathan would tell Kaylee he wants his children to go to school. I don't understand fundie parents who want their kids to have less education than they had. Then again, maybe I do - they don't want their kids to be exposed to things they don't understand.
  15. I hope I'm misreading, but when I read "contenting" it makes me think J&K let Gideon cry rather than checking on him, and to comfort himself, he has to suck his thumb. It reminds me of Janessa with her blanket. I would think J&K would check on him to make sure he's OK, and I understand not picking him up every time he cries, but reading that makes me feel a little sad for Gideon.
  16. I want Tiffany to have a child with a guy who is into her, loves her, and puts her before himself. In other words, I want her to have a child with someone other than Lawson.
  17. I hope everyone in Gwinnett County votes this sheriff out of office. Programs like this help the dogs and the prisoners. As well as saving the dogs' lives, it helps the prisoners' mental health and gives them something to look forward to daily.
  18. Also, they are in Denver in January. She might have summer clothes but put them away for the winter so she just grabbed what she could find easily. She wouldn't be able to go out shopping for new clothes. Well, yes, she could shop online, but if she did that might explain why she had the clothes she did.
  19. I have a lot of family and friends in the county to the west of Mt. Juliet. Most of the tornados happened north of Nashville (they are southeast of Nashville, but still in the metro area). I know there were major storms in the area though. Hopefully, they don't have any major damage.
  20. It was the second Jack, James Acheson, that was removed by SN & DH after he was harassing MBE while she was pregnant with her first son.
  21. I'm looking forward to the final episode. I want Rob and Corey to win the whole thing, but I'm good with any of them winning. After watching Steve and AL, I don't think Steve physically would have been able to handle another leg. But I wonder if it was planned for him to get to the mat before AL because every time before she's been first on the mat.
  22. I have a heart condition, so I have echocardiograms regularly. I know they have to press hard to be able to see my heart (and the fact that I have a lot on top doesn't help). One year I yelped in pain because the tech was pressing so hard on my sternum. She yelled at me that she had to press that hard to be able to see. A couple of days later I realized I had bruises where she had pressed so hard. At least it confirmed how I was feeling. Techs need to realize there are humans attached to the body part they are looking at.
  23. But it won't benefit her unless she admits she has a problem. Shannon is never going to admit she has a problem.
  24. I hate calling any woman (or man) out on their weight, but she looks very unhealthy in the picture.
